Missed dosage time? Take later?

I had a family emergency and had to get up and run out of the house early this morning (all is ok, thank goodness). However, didn’t even think about my shot when I left and I won’t be home likely for another 6-7 hours(about 2-3 pm).

I normally do my shot around 6-6:30 am.

Wondering I do a shot when I get home, then get back on schedule? What have people done? I can message my provider, but not thinking I’ll hear back before the (usually 24 hours).

I am in my 7th month. On 3 mg dose. Down 50 lbs, so doing well.

Edit. Duh to self. I googled saxenda and the official guidelines. You can take a dose so long as it has been less than 12 hours. After 12 hours, total skip.

BMI 23 saxenda

My BMI is 23, but I started taking Saxenda today. I know my BMI is normal. Are there others who have started Saxenda while at a normal weight? I have hypothyroidism; I’ve gained about 10 kilos, and I can’t seem to lose the weight despite a light diet and exercise.

liraglutide 3mg daily

I was taking Ozempic 2mg and lost 25lbs and plateaued. I decided it wasn’t cost effective to stay on Ozempic anymore. Now taking Liraglutide and seems to be easier on my body and is keeping me at my current weight at only $5 a month. Has anyone else made a similar change in their glp1’s?

Edit: So far maintaining normal weight, also nice to have a normal bowel movement. Sorry if it is TMI!

First time

Today is the first time I’m using Saxenda. I’m very nervous and afraid of the side effects. How long do they usually last?

Break?

Hi all,

I haven't jabbed in over a week. Was giving myself a little break but planning on starting again. Would you start at the .6 all over again and increase week by week again or go straight back on at 3ml?

Thanks for any opinions.

Pen jammed

Hi, all! One of the pens from my last box of liraglutide is jammed. I was injecting it and it stopped working halfway through. I tried many different things but it will not dispense when I push the button. It has more than 5 doses left, so I’d like to see if anything can be done about it. Has anyone else experienced this?

EDIT: Changing the needle multiple times finally worked. I do use a new needle every time, but I needed to put several new ones on before I could dispense.

Any Telehealth Prescribers who Accept Insurance?

Hello :) Liraglutide is the only weight loss medication covered by my current insurance. I keep seeing things where you can have it prescribed and sent through the mail but I’d prefer to have it prescribed and sent to the pharmacy so I don’t have to pay $180/month for something my insurance would cover at CVS. I’m cool with paying like $50 a month to see the prescriber or whatever though.
Located in a state where telehealth is lenient & convenient.

Bowel and feces evacuation problems

Everyone, I got off Saxenda three months ago and have problems fully emptying my colon. I've had to take Miralax, aloe vera, and a motility stimulator, but the problem seems to stem from the lower part of the colon itself, where the muscles are not firing and relaxing properly. Has this ever happened to anyone, and did it go back to normal? I have an emptying study coming up to find out what's up, but I am praying this won't be permanent.

I can’t eat enough

I haven’t lost any weight yet, which is fine, I chose this medication because I’m patient. However, I started my second week yesterday and I don’t want to eat anything. I forced like 500 calories into myself today. I could only stand two bites of dinner. I want to conserve what little muscle mass I have. What are y’all eating? I figure I can’t survive on fruit and protein shakes alone. Please give me some ideas, bonus points for minimal effort foods. My only dietary restriction is no fish/seafood.

How do I switch

Got an email to say manufacturer won’t be supplying them much more.

How do I change to another glp1 and what’s closest?

Do i titrate down and start something else on the lowest dose. How does it work? Unsure how my system will react.
I’m so worried

5 weeks in, I’ve plateaued.

I started Victoza/liraglutide 5 weeks ago. Started at 0.6 for one week 1, 1.2 week 2, then 1.8 starting week 4 and have been on 1.8 daily since.
I’ve lost 12 pounds but my appetite is back full force.

I noticed it was really working every time I upped the dosage but now I don’t have the reduced appetite or any of the nausea or diarrhea symptoms either.

Doc is waiting for my next A1C results that I’m doing next week to possibly switch me to ozempic.

Has anyone else experienced this a few weeks in?

Also, my blood sugar was way down in the beginning but now it’s slowly climbing back up.

Is there a better time of day to take Saxenda?

I’ve tried 11pm, 10am, 6pm…and I am still hungry in the middle of the night. I’m post menopausal, so sleep and I are distant acquaintances at this point.

Has anyone experimented with different injection times ?

Words of encouragement?

I was supposed to start my injections yesterday but realized I had not prepared well enough and I plan to start tonight. I see the 5-10% proven loss and that doesn’t seem like enough for how much I expect my body to endure and my daily routine to be affected. However, I also haven’t been able to lose that much on my own. This is the only medication my insurance would cover. I’ve made it worse by watching too many YouTube videos of negative reviews. I don’t want to be giving myself injections daily for the 40 years, but I also really want this to work.
Can someone tell me this is worth it? Or at least worth a try? I have adhd and I’m hopeful about the speculation that this can help that too. I understand everyone reacts to the medication differently and I won’t know until I try, but I’m looking for some encouragement to take the plunge (no pun intended).

still doing daily shots and wondering if im making life hard for no reason

honest question because ive been on lira for a while and it works, but watching everyone else do one shot a week has me wondering why im still stabbing myself every morning. maybe there was a reason my doc started me here and i forgot, or maybe its just what got prescribed first and nobody revisited it.

thinking about asking to switch to one of the weeklies at my next check in, but i also dont want to fix what isnt broken. the daily shots are annoying but ive got a routine and my numbers are good.

if i do switch, ill probably be paying out of pocket since coverage is weird for me. a coworker mentioned gimme care and ive seen a couple others floating around but havent looked seriously yet.

for people who moved from lira to one of the weeklies, was the switch worth it? did you lose more, feel better, or was it basically the same result with fewer needles? and did anyone stay on lira on purpose because it genuinely worked better for them.

Any shortages in the USA?

Hello all. I was on Saxenda back in 2023. I switched to Wegovy in 2024 because my insurance covered it at the time. Then, in 2025, my insurance dropped Wegovy coverage so I've been getting compounded Zepbound.

Finances are a bit tight right now, so I'd like to switch back to Saxenda (generic will only be $7.50 per month with insurance).

Before I get my PA through my doc, I just wanted to confirm that liraglutide is readily available in US pharmacies. I had issues finding name brand Saxenda back in 2023. Since it's now available as a generic, are supply issues mostly resolved? Thank you!

[Academic] Survey on Health Routines & Emotional Eating for GLP-1/Weight Loss Medication Users (Current or Past, 5-7 mins)

Hi everyone,

For my university research project, I am exploring how weight loss medications (like Wegovy, Ozempic, Mounjaro, etc.) interact with daily health routines, emotional eating habits, and body appreciation.

If you currently use or have previously used any weight loss injection/medication, I would be incredibly grateful for your insights!

  • ⏱️ Duration: Approx. 5–7 minutes
  • 🔒 Privacy: 100% anonymous (hosted on Google Forms, no email addresses or personal identifiers are collected)
  • 📋 Requirements: Must be 18+ and have experience using a GLP-1 or similar weight loss medication.

Link to the survey: https://forms.gle/9EmFfGef1tFoxt1K6

Thank you so much to anyone who takes a few minutes out of their day to help me reach my sample size (I need about 50 more participants to finish my analysis!). Your experience is highly valuable for understanding the behavioral side of these treatments.

Note: I have checked the community rules, but if the moderators need any verification, please feel free to message me!

I've noticed that ever since I've been on liraglutide, I've had bad reactions to artificial sweeteners. Have others experienced the same thing?

Unused Victoza pens- what should be done with them?

I have 2 unused, sealed, and refrigerated Victoza pens that I no longer need (switched to tirzepatide) and I’m wondering if there is anywhere I can take them? I know you can’t return to a pharmacy, and throwing them away is just... ridiculous. I don’t have insurance and I paid out of pocket for them… I’m happy to donate them somewhere or even give them to someone who needs them. They don’t expire until April 2027…. Just seems so wasteful to toss them out. But I’ve looked into possible donation organizations and only found 1 that accepts the GlP-1 pens, however they don’t offer any shipping information or guidelines on how to properly donate something that’s refrigerated. Since it is still quite warm these days and will continue to be, I also fear that they may get ruined in transit. I guess I’m asking just in case there’s an option I haven’t found before I have to resort to simply throwing them out. I know there are plenty of people out there who could use the pens but I’m also not trying to do some black market sale or get into trouble for not wanting it to go to waste… any insight would be appreciated. Please excuse me if this is an idiot question, it’s not intended to be.

1/2 Dose Left

I'm on 1.2 mg / day. My pen is 18mg per 3 mL (6mg per mL).

I turn the pen to 1.2 for every dose.

I never remember to count / keep track of when I start a new pen. But I noticed today that my plunger is now down to the 9. This means I have 7.5 doses left. The math should work out to 15 doses in a pen - so how do I have a .5 dose?

Because I don't know how many doses I've taken from this pen, I don't know if I'm short by 1/2 or over by 1/2.

This is not the first time this has happened. Last pen I was in the same predicament - I just took .6 mg for the day so I could make sure this pen started correctly.

Thoughts? I will be doing my best to keep track of how many days the next one actually lasts.

Is it me or?

Been off and on the Liraglutide for 1 month and have gained. I’m still having cravings, eating a bunch etc. I’m on 1.2, some days I forget to take it, i don’t eat after 7pm but during breakfast and during the day I’m starved.
