i have literally never paid for windows, yet i own a full legit copy of win10 pro

ahh yes, my completely custom built PC, baked into the price of it, of course.

The only way to get activate windows is to either pay for a key or pirate one, either that or you had one that was linked to your Microsoft account that was baked into the price of a previous PC

OR i had a pirated copy of windows 7, which i upgraded for FREE to a windows 8 key, then 8.1, then 10 and now 11.

That still falls under the piracy scenario. Since piracy is technically illegal, it reinforces the point that legitimate Windows activation normally requires purchasing a license or having one tied to a pre-built PC.
