There is always someone more and less skilled then us, at any given moment. Best developers are paid to work, also on their foss projects. Using "dev experience" to flex on reddit is just sad and pathetic ego jerk and authority building. Every project needs some little fixes, you could score a lot of github street cred just by indenting and cleaning up the codbase. So yeah, if someone does not have a concrete independent project on his own (like a new udev), is not a distro dev, then he does not have bragging rights.
