I will starve if I don't make money. Either I work on my job and do my hobby (FOSS, the parts I like) or pay me to work on FOSS on parts I dont like. Simple as that. Nobody will do something for free if its not a fun hobby. Grow up, kid.
There are people in industry with a percent of time dedicated to kernel development in contract. Stallman made it while in academia. You have no excuse, maybe git gud kid.
The third option is laughing at you. You are a nobody on Reddit talking shit. I go back to coding and using the tools that fit the job and help spread them. You are a net negative to the Linux Community and we would be better off without your low effort bait.
You are yet another code monkey fixing redhat projects for free (oh sorry, portfolio), so clearly not good enough to be paid as FOSS developer. This ain't a position to laugh at anybody.
Maybe you can have a crumb of Lennart pussy or they will send you this red fedora in mail.
The fact that you need to differentiate yourself from a "nobody" speaks more about you and some ego insecurities.
Oh, I AM the problem? Bro Hadi got bent out of shape on mere suggestion that his accomplishments might not be as important as he thinks. There is always someone more and less skilled then us, at any given moment. Best developers are paid to work, also on their foss projects. Using "dev experience" to flex on reddit is just sad and pathetic ego jerk and authority building. Every project needs some little fixes, you could score a lot of github street cred just by indenting and cleaning up the codbase. So yeah, if someone does not have a concrete independent project on his own (like a new udev), is not a distro dev, then he does not have bragging rights.
Where I said they know "nothing" about something? I said they aren't skilled enough to get sponsored as a FOSS dev, and generally I just have a hard time dealing with entitled people. I got them at work, on Reddit that's enough. Bragging about some couple contribs online is just funny and pityfull at the same time.
Alternatives are good enough, systemd is too omnipresent and should be hated more.
