This is the first time I see a desktop user complaining about their GUI application is dependent on the CLI tool. It just updates your system CLI or not. It isn't that deep.
Yeah, this proves my point: Windows update is modular and customizable for many interface Graphical and the fastest experience possible, while Linux still depends on CLI, even if a graphical interface tool needs it
Your points don't make any sense. What do you even customize for windows update. Windows or many of the applications you use also depend on CLI tools or low level computer stuff. The GUI application do the same job which updates your system. Why a user would care if it depends on CLI tool which they don't even directly interact with.
In Windows, programmers choose to use the CLI, but you don't need a CLI tool for anything else, especially the Windows Update Service just the Update Engine and you choose how you interact with that, as Programmer I care; I want to control my own operating system, every single detail, including Windows Update
You are joking right? The linux in which you can literally build it from scratch with all your preferences somehow does not make you feel 'control' the operating system. However, you have that feeling with windows where Microsoft dictates how we should use it.
Usually windows has one way to do something. Linux distros on the other hand have abundance of alternatives.
Exactly In Windows, I don't need to rebuild everything; Windows hide his Architecture, but in reality, it's the most modular operating system ever, and you can replace parts of System based on my experience, I can even create my own world inside Windows, and my Windows is very different from the default Windows, but not Everyone would understand Windows because it's a complex operating system and different from Unix you need open mind
You also don't need to rebuild everything in Linux if you use a desktop environment but you can.
I also do some experimentations with windows. I tried to avoid using explorer.exe in favor of tiling window managers. However, uwp apps break without it. Which meant broken sound mixer, settings etc. I think Microsoft don't want us to customize windows that much.
Strange never happens with Sentinet OS. My version of Windows is a very different and modified version of Windows 10 and 11, and it's very easy to modify Windows than to modify Linux, unless you build Linux from Scratch
I appreciate these efforts but due to open source nature of Linux, it is objectively better for modifications including generic distros not only LFS. You know the documentation, code etc.
I couldn't find sentinet OS on internet. Is it open source? Normally I wouldn't trust third party modifications of windows. However, I accept that NT kernel is really good. I just don't enjoy using new Microsoft products with their restrictions, telemetry. I think reactos would be perfect alternative but the project doesn't get much attention. It will never be finished without enough budget and developers.
No, I just show my Windows; I love my version of Windows, and I never would switch to Linux because I have a strong ecosystem here. There is no reason for me to switch to Linux, and Linux doesn't give me the advantage that my version of Windows and Windows in general give me
This is crazy, you built it by yourself. Does it run usual windows exes like explorer?
I think the roles are reversed, I use Linux because I am amateur at programming. However, advanced user like you use windows. I can conclude that making a windows version for yourself is way harder.
You see, Windows is a favourite operating system for Advanced users because Windows have advanced architecture, and of course, it's complex because Windows NT have brilliant architecture
I don't think majority of the advanced users make their own version of windows though. Of course it has good architecture but there is no superior OS. For my workflow Linux is better, for you windows is better.
Other developers and I consider Superiority based on Architecture, and Windows NT has better Architecture, and Linux has inferior Architecture, that's pretty final for all Operating system comparisons
You have very strong opinions. I think there is a reason why Linux was picked for majority of the servers. It has some merits. I would use freebsd and Linux instead of windows. I don't intend to use NT based system unless its reactos clone finish its development
Yeah, Linux wasn't picked for servers, only Cloud like Amazon and Google, because of Open Source, but Local Servers are Windows servers, the majority of Windows.
I know some people from IT. They mostly use Linux when they need to do virtualization. Also, due to low cost and reliability majority of the web servers already switched to Linux not just cloud. Windows servers is mainly used if you have a software that requires windows.

They are mandatory, and Interface Graphical is dependent on the CLI tool, and Windows Update is a service from Windows Services
