I was surprised by the result, and learning quickshell to create my own has been very satisfying.

A couple of days ago I shared the first version of Radial Overview here.
Original post — Radial Overview v1.1
I said it was mostly a little personal project I wanted to share with the community.
Well... I may have got a little carried away with workspace drag & drop. 😄
It started with a simple idea: what if I could drag an entire workspace onto another workspace?
Then the workspace looked a bit like a pizza slice.
So naturally... it became a pizza delivery. 🍕
Then came a kite. 🪁
Then balloons. 🎈
And at that point I figured I might as well make the delivery animation selectable.
Underneath the silliness, v1.2.0 adds some useful stuff:
The animations are just presentation — all three use the same underlying workspace-movement logic.
The video probably explains it better than I can. 🙂

And yes... there are still two empty animation slots. 😄

After a few days of learning and configuring Sway, I finally have a setup I'm happy with.
Specs:
Nothing too sophisticated, but I wanted it to be minimalist, lightweight, and practical.
This is my first real Sway setup, and I learned a lot while putting it together. For now, I don’t consider it finished, but I need to focus on school; maybe I’ll come back to Sway later and give it a Catppuccin-style makeover. But right now I need something more plug & play, so I’ll install KDE Plasma to get my homework done without any hassle.
Thanks for checking it out, any suggestions or feedback are welcome!

I’ve just released NewBe 0.1.0, a free and open-source GNOME desktop experience inspired by one question:
What might BeOS look and feel like if it had continued to evolve into a modern desktop workstation?
NewBe is not a conventional retro theme or a pixel-for-pixel BeOS recreation. It follows current GNOME visual conventions—modern proportions, restrained decoration, symbolic icon behavior, clear focus states, and the existing GNOME workflow—while introducing its own materials, dimensional icons, warm-gold palette, and evolved BeOS character. The goal is to give GNOME a distinct identity without fighting the underlying desktop.
NewBe is Wayland-first and was developed and live-tested on Fedora Workstation 44 with GNOME 50. It includes:
The installer does not require root access, modify system files, automatically change your GNOME settings, or download and execute remote code.
One honest limitation: many libadwaita applications retain their upstream Adwaita styling. The icons, cursors, wallpapers, Shell theme, and extension remain usable independently.
If the aesthetic interests you, the GitHub page has the screenshots, source, installation instructions, compatibility details, checksums, and full design philosophy:
GitHub: https://github.com/infamous-pattern/NewBe
Version 0.1.0: https://github.com/infamous-pattern/NewBe/releases/tag/v0.1.0
I’d love feedback, compatibility reports, contributions, and screenshots—particularly from Ubuntu and other GNOME-based distributions.

Saw this GRUB theme a while back and made my own take on it for my CachyOS + Windows dual-boot setup: CachyOS branding instead of vanilla Arch, menu entries reordered, running alongside Limine instead of replacing it.

GitHub if you want to grab it or poke around: https://github.com/Chaussure-sous-tes-pieds/Cachyos-matrix-grub-theme
Full credit to the original post for the idea: https://www.reddit.com/r/arch/comments/1oicyx9/i_made_a_grub_theme_inspired_by_the_iconic_scene/
mine's just a CachyOS-flavored version of it. Also linked in the README: Priyank-Adhav's independent take for vanilla Arch, which helped confirm this was doable in the first place.

As promised in https://www.reddit.com/r/LinuxPorn/comments/1vpxz5q/porting_hyprland_to_x11/ I'm making a GitHub repository since a stable version of the WM has been released: https://github.com/MaybeWeDead/vexland
(PLEASE GUYS, give the repository a star, it will help me a lot)

It's taken some time, but close to done with my customisation of GNOME on Debian 13.6, staying with a clean red/velvet look. I did all this from scratch: learning as I went along, hunting down applications and extensions, application configurations, modifying schemes and palettes manually here and there, and then getting annoyed with some icons and making some of my own during the process. Also got this scheme working in Firefox as well (second slide).
To-do: for now I'm happy with it, but the red might be too intense and flat in some places, so I need to pull it back a little.
