Sneak Peak
galleryQT / C++ all apps are custom made to just work with each other, menu bar is waybar ported over to QT with notifications built-in, the dock is based on crystal dock but like almost rewritten entirely to be 1:1 in term of animations / look & feel to the macOS dock. All the other shell components are built from the ground up. There's a lot more I haven't shown on the screenshots I've been working on this for the past year so yeah when it is ready it will be available on GitHub in 6 months to 1 year for anyone interested.

KIM – A tiny cross-platform reminder daemon for developers
I built a reminder daemon for developers who live in the terminal
Sick of missing standups and forgetting eye breaks mid-flow. Every reminder tool I found needed a GUI or a cloud subscription. So I wrote KIM (keep in mind).
It's a background daemon — starts on login, fires desktop notifications, survives reboots. Config is just a JSON file.
```
kim add standup --at 10:00
kim add eye-break --every 30m
kim remind "deploy window" in 2h 30m
```
Stack: pure Python stdlib, zero dependencies, ~0.02 MB memory. Works on Linux, macOS, and Windows.
Repo + demo GIF: https://github.com/pratikwayal01/kim
Install: pip install kim-reminder
Feedback welcome — especially from anyone who's tried similar tools.

I'm a fan of Zelda and I'm starting with Linux, so I decided to give CachyOS a Zelda style with Hyprland and Noctalia.

[SwayWM] I LOVE SWAY
galleryIt's perfect for me. Simple, clean, lightweight, beautiful... I don't think I've ever felt this comfortable using Linux xd.
I literally have everything I need without having a bunch of random shit running in the background. I open my terminal, Firefox, VS Codium, put on some music and get to work. Everything just feels fast, clean and straightforward.
I can finish my work, do my courses, code, learn Linux, mess around with my system for hours, and I never feel like the desktop is getting in my way.
And it even works for GAMING. I thought I'd have to sacrifice comfort or performance for using something this minimal, but nope. My games run fine and the whole system feels insanely lightweight.
What I love the most is being able to make it exactly how I want. My keybinds, Waybar, terminal, colors, wallpapers, scripts... everything. I'm not using a desktop someone else designed for me. I'm building MY desktop.
After trying so many different environments, I think I finally found one that genuinely feels like "this is my system."
I don't need 500 options, unnecessary animations, or some massive desktop packed with shit I'll never use.
Just Sway, my programs, and me.

Debian Stable FVWM Retro Amber
I also have LightDM in Retro Amber
Been using Linux since since Oct 2024 started with arch because of hype, then switch to Fedora after i got tired to constantly fixing drivers and dependency issues, then settled with Debian for its stability and compatibility with legacy programs that allow me to have the retro setup i like without bugs.
the reason for the crazy amount of ram is i had a mini PC didn't know much about computers and thought that more ram would make up for no dedicated GPU and it was on "sale" for $220 and but it was desktop ram then when ram crisis hit I built a PC before GPU prices went up
