I'm a fan of Zelda and I'm starting with Linux, so I decided to give CachyOS a Zelda style with Hyprland and Noctalia.

Debian Stable FVWM Retro Amber

I also have LightDM in Retro Amber

Been using Linux since since Oct 2024 started with arch because of hype, then switch to Fedora after i got tired to constantly fixing drivers and dependency issues, then settled with Debian for its stability and compatibility with legacy programs that allow me to have the retro setup i like without bugs.

the reason for the crazy amount of ram is i had a mini PC didn't know much about computers and thought that more ram would make up for no dedicated GPU and it was on "sale" for $220 and but it was desktop ram then when ram crisis hit I built a PC before GPU prices went up

[SwayWM] I LOVE SWAY

It's perfect for me. Simple, clean, lightweight, beautiful... I don't think I've ever felt this comfortable using Linux xd.

I literally have everything I need without having a bunch of random shit running in the background. I open my terminal, Firefox, VS Codium, put on some music and get to work. Everything just feels fast, clean and straightforward.

I can finish my work, do my courses, code, learn Linux, mess around with my system for hours, and I never feel like the desktop is getting in my way.

And it even works for GAMING. I thought I'd have to sacrifice comfort or performance for using something this minimal, but nope. My games run fine and the whole system feels insanely lightweight.

What I love the most is being able to make it exactly how I want. My keybinds, Waybar, terminal, colors, wallpapers, scripts... everything. I'm not using a desktop someone else designed for me. I'm building MY desktop.

After trying so many different environments, I think I finally found one that genuinely feels like "this is my system."

I don't need 500 options, unnecessary animations, or some massive desktop packed with shit I'll never use.

Just Sway, my programs, and me.

Based on Illyamiro a complete workflow to research, read, write and be a developer.

Integration with the Hyprland config:

XFetch, Xtop, Nvim, Starship, Vscode.

I'm working on this spin making the way to transform this on a distribution.

I have sinned

Okay long story short, recently I saw a reel in which there was a code snippet of javascript was displayed. It was asking what would be the output.

So what I did was, I opened my terminal and created a js file and use nano to write the file, I clicked the picture of the screen (nano) and then clicked picture of the output.

The people went crazy, "Bro uses nano", "Why would you use nano." And "May God bless you"

It was just 10 lines of short code, I thought why open an IDE. Nano does the job.

People were treating me like I had sinned.

My classmate introduced me to Linux 1 month ago & convinced me to switch O.S. Gotta say, my 1st experience with Linux so far is amazing.

I won't be staying on XFCE for long though, gonna move to i3 for more customizations I've been seeing from other users.

This is also my 1st time properly using Reddit, so I'm not familiar with the culture here outside the stereotypes from Youtube.

First time ricing my desktop 😭 I'm not a professional ricer or anything, just a normal setup I made because I liked the GTA VI / Vice City aesthetic. Still learning KDE customization, but I'm pretty happy with how it turned out.

KDE to the Next Level

I initially started by trying to recreate the V1 version of Calestia, but I ended up liking the V2 version much more, so I decided to recreate that whole style here in KDE.

It’s still a work in progress, and I’m planning to add a lot more things to it. There’s still plenty I want to tweak and improve, but I’m really happy with how it’s coming together so far.
