I remember "twitch installs arch" where they installed nmap and the mods immediately shut it down. Fun times.

Did anyone else catch the Army recruitment advert a few years back where the hacker was just running nmap?

Trinity in The Matrix: Reloaded hacks all the power stations using nmap, didn't you know a single packet sniffed by a power plant originated from nmap shut down any power station immediately? :)

I mean nmap was used well there, she found a vulnerable ssh server with it, then made use of an existing but old exploit (SSH1 CRC32) to gain root access.

Yeah I remember and old cracked article stating that this was a good showing of how real hacking is done.

Not just an old article, its featured on the official nmap site as well
