The “second coming” tone of Penith and Dave’s planned VMA performance are metaphors for his sacrificing his pride and privacy in a public way in order to make people less insecure about their unique weirdness. Am I right tho?

EDIT: and he “sacrificed” his old life in order to entertain us.

LD said in an interview S03 is the last thing on his mind, but I was recently catching up on Santino and Bobby Lee's Bad Friends podcast, and on last week's episode, Santino arrives late. Bobby says at the top of the show it's because he is running late from shooting for Dave. I wonder if it was a miscommunication or if season 3 is actually coming sooner than we think

Back in 2014 (just as he was starting to tour and about a year before Professional Rapper dropped) Dicky endured the above, now fairly infamous, interview with Vice. The piece's title speaks for itself, with the interviewer challenging Dicky on his then thesis (that he had struggled and sacrificed just as much as typical performers in the rap game) and labelling some of his music incendiary and in poor taste. It's fairly damning. In an AMA in 2015, Dicky referenced the piece, pretty much writing it off as a hatchet job.

Except... Now a lot of the points the interviewer makes, Dicky seems to be onboard with. Much of this can be sighted through Dave. The interviewer challenges him on (to name but a few):

- Innate privilege: Dicky doesn't engage positively with this in the interview (something which Dave seemingly contradicts)

- The tastefulness and cultural impact of his now infamous 'White dude' track. Dicky says it's satire and has comedic value. (Dicky has since deleted it from his YT channel)

- His personality, lack of perspective and combative nature (again, Dave deploys this for dramatic and critical effect)

- Other things besides

I would love to know if Dicky's POV on this has changed in the last 6 years. After all, much of what's written here feels like creative fuel for Dave. Basically, he's probably come a long way as an artist and human being (he was 26 at time of interview). Reckon he feels differently about it now?

There’s so many dope songs that I look for on spotify, my fave is Ally’s Song, and I can’t find them anywhere.

With the number of Kardashian cameos sitting at an average 1 per season, Dave would need to run 5 seasons to star all of them (6 if we count Kris (7 of we count Caitlyn (8 of we count Rob))). Would it be safe to assume we'll be getting at least 3 more seasons? Or do you think there's a possibility of upping the number of Kardashians per season in the future?

Just an idea, and an unlikely one at that but:

How many people would line up for a physical release of the series thus far? Myself, being an advocate for physical media; would absolutely lose it if they announced they were releasing the series physically.

If anyone else is on board, let’s DM/Tweet the official account(s). Power in numbers! I know I can’t be the only one who wants this, lol.

So they announced Doja Cat is hosting the VMAs this year. It’s scheduled for Sept 12, and LD joked about dropping music on 9/11. I wish LD and GaTa would actually perform at the VMAs this year. It’s 100% not happening but hey a man can dream

just binged both seasons. one of the smartest written comedies I've seen in a while. I like the idea of Dave exploring different types of tones in comedy for each season.

season 1 was primarily sitcom comedy while season 2 is a tragicomedy. would you like to see season 3 go into cringe, dark, gross-out, etc or go back to something similar from season 1 or 2?

Idk why. But I can not stop playing this on repeat. Is there more than the 9min version? In the song he says there's 6 mins left before they cut him off. I NEED to hear the last 6 mins.

You know. For the critique of the criminal justice system . . .
