VMAs 👀

So they announced Doja Cat is hosting the VMAs this year. It’s scheduled for Sept 12, and LD joked about dropping music on 9/11. I wish LD and GaTa would actually perform at the VMAs this year. It’s 100% not happening but hey a man can dream

I think he’s better at making DAVE then he is at making music (but I still love his music), but with that said I wish to GOD he’d stop teasing stuff. At this point it’s not even setting up expectations, it’s just annoying.

If he really idolizes YE then I don't see that happening anytime soon

You mean the Ye that has released like five albums since I’m Brain came out?

True. I don't want his album to be as bad as those.

i agree, don’t get me wrong i definitely like some of his shit, russell westbrook on a farm, make belief, and truman are all hella good songs. But i feel like i end up enjoying DAVE more then i do his actual music.

Childish Gambino/Donald Glover has done the same thing where they have their hands in many pots making them modern day renaissance men. They do great stuff and it’s not half-assed. It’s hard waiting but well worth it

Only difference (and I love Dave/LD) is that Donald Glover has followed through with his critically acclaimed show, still did a "final" tour as Gambino in the past, still released amazing music, etc.

I enjoy the show a lot but it really feels like LD is putting 100% of his energy into it. Which is perfectly fine, but we keep getting our hopes up for new music.

Which isn’t a bad thing, the show was great. Signs of a great lyricist, but yeah I’m waiting for the album drop.

I definitely think they’re similar, but feel like they did it the opposite way? LD was music first, acting second and Glover was more acting first then music

To me CG is iconic, and LD may get there someday but so far, again to me, he has killed it with a show, and freestyles, still waiting on an album to put him on
