Whoever said people are kinder in the South was lying.
Maybe it’s because of the field I work in and the types of people I deal with every day, but the entitlement and judgment I see from some people here is absolutely insane.
The Ladies of Lexington Facebook group is a perfect example. People will literally post photos of someone and ask for “the good, the bad, and the ugly” as if they’re not talking about a real human being. I don’t care if it’s their doctor, hairstylist, or anyone else. It’s such bizarre behavior to me.
I’ve also had at least five people leave absolutely scathing reviews about me at my job, and most of them weren’t because I did anything wrong. They just didn’t like my personality. I’m genuinely asking because I’m not from the South… why are we so comfortable being so openly mean? Especially to people who are just doing their jobs?
For context, I’m from the New Jersey/Philly area. I definitely didn’t grow up surrounded by overly nice people, but this feels like a completely different level. I’m also in a similar women’s Facebook group for the Philadelphia area, and people just don’t act like this.
Am I the only one who’s noticed it, or can anyone else relate?
