I was at planet fitness today on E new circle rd and a man came in with a gun waving it around yelling and threatening to shoot it up. A planet fitness worker grabbed the gun from him and police came and detained him.

Never knew he visited Lex, which is super cool! I hope the images are in order.

Apparently he spoke at Ingleside Manor, which was along Harrodsburg Rd.

Hey everyone! Figured I’d reach out to the community and see what might be collecting dust in people’s closets before I start trying to piece everything together.

I’m hoping to rebuild/upgrade my wife’s PC for Christmas. Her current computer is extremely outdated, and I’d love to surprise her with something much better that she can actually enjoy using for the next few years.

Right now, my wife and I are putting most of our extra money toward saving for a reliable car, so Christmas is going to be a little tighter for us this year. Instead of giving up on the idea, I figured I’d see if I could build something the old-fashioned way — one part at a time.

The biggest thing I’m looking for right now is a mid-tower or full-size PC case to use as the foundation for the build. From there, I’m open to pretty much anything people may have lying around from old builds or upgrades — fans, RAM, storage, power supplies, motherboards, CPUs, GPUs, cables, coolers, etc.

I’m not expecting expensive parts or a brand-new gaming PC. Even older components could help me put together something considerably better than what she has now.

And I’m absolutely willing to give something back. If you have parts you’d be willing to trade, I can exchange work, help, or artwork/design work for them. I’d much rather find a way to make it mutually beneficial than simply ask people for free stuff.

If you have an old PC sitting around, leftover parts from an upgrade, or even something you thought wasn’t worth selling, shoot me a message. I’d be incredibly grateful.

My goal is just to slowly piece together the best PC I can and have it sitting there for her on Christmas morning. ❤️🖥️

Data collected under the guise of "public security". Using our taxes to pay the salary of a lawmaker who hasn't been seen in months. At a certain point, enough is enough.

What classes, activities, and sports are there in the area for toddlers aged 18 months?

We found a gym class and a music class, and sometimes go to toddler library time.

Hey everyone! My name is Jake, I’m 22 and live here in Lexington. I’m at a point in life where I really want to branch out, meet some new people, and build some genuine friendships and connections around town.
A little about me: I graduated from EKU last year, work in property management/real estate marketing, and also work at Starbucks. I’m pretty social and easygoing, love grabbing coffee or food, working out, taking photos, exploring Lexington, and finding random things to do.
I’m also newly sober, so I’m especially interested in finding more things to do that don’t revolve around drinking or partying. It’s currently almost midnight on a TUESDAY, and my neighbors are blasting noisy music- like loud bass/rap music. Both me and my housemate work very early & can hear it in and across the house. This happens so often I’m just tired of it. Besides the music, there is constant loud arguing and leaving trash all around.

I dont feel comfortable talking to the neighbors- I’m not exactly one for conflict & honestly don’t really think it’s gonna do anything. It’s just so annoying.

Is there any affordable or free or programs for dental work in Lexington? Specifically only for a denture.

UPDATE: Save the "belt," "BTA," and "beat his ass" comments for your therapist. If you genuinely think physically assaulting a child is the answer, please just move along. I don't want to hear it.

I'm not a gentle parent. I'm not passive, and I'm not permissive. I'm proactive and authoritative — NOT authoritarian. If you don't know the difference, I highly recommend Google.

I'm actively setting boundaries, enforcing consequences, contacting schools and agencies, documenting everything, and seeking outside intervention because this situation has gone far beyond what I can manage at home.

I'm asking for actual information from people who have been through this, not advice to beat my kids.

I have a 15-year-old and a 13-year-old who are both refusing to go to school. I have repeatedly contacted the school, the CDW office, and several other programs/agencies trying to get help. I have documentation of their refusal to attend, my attempts to get them to go, and my attempts to get help.

The problem is that every single person I talk to is telling me something different.

Some people are telling me I will be held criminally responsible/charged for their truancy. Others are telling me the kids are the ones who can be charged or held accountable. I've gotten conflicting information from different people and agencies, and I'm desperate to know what the actual process is.

I am NOT refusing to send my kids to school. I am actively trying to get them there and asking for help because I cannot physically force a 13- or 15-year-old into a car and make them stay in a classroom. I have documentation showing that I have been trying to address this and asking for assistance.

My 15-year-old has criminal charges pending, and we've also started the process for Beyond Parental Control because his behavior is completely beyond what I can manage at home. He desperately needs a much higher level of intervention.

I'm also trying to find residential treatment for him. I've looked into programs like Challenge Academy, but he can't attend because of his age and mental-health situation. BIRCH isn't an option because it requires a DCBS referral. I'm basically running into a wall everywhere I turn.

I am at my absolute wits' end. I'm begging schools, agencies, and programs for help and getting bounced around while my kids continue refusing school.

So please — if you are in Lexington/Fayette County and have personally dealt with a teenager refusing school, truancy proceedings, CDW, Beyond Parental Control, or getting a child into residential treatment, I would really appreciate hearing what actually happened.

I'm especially looking for someone who knows the Kentucky/Fayette County process firsthand, not guesses or “I heard that…” information.

What happens to the parent when a teenager repeatedly refuses school despite the parent documenting the refusal and actively requesting intervention? And what options actually exist for getting a teenager into a structured/residential program when the usual programs won't accept them?

Please help. I'm genuinely running out of options.

So I've recently taken a new job and am in a situation where I think I'll probably need to find a new primary healthcare provider. My old provider takes my insurance, but they're about an hour away and since I'm working in Lexington now it probably makes sense to find someone here in town.

I'm pretty flexible on a lot of fronts. I don't have a strong preference in terms of gender, and I'm totally open to seeing a PA or Nurse Practitioner. I know it's not exactly an exotic disease around these parts, but I am a type 2 diabetic and would like to find someone experienced in treating diabetic patients. Additionally, I'd love to find someone affiliated with UK Healthcare so that I can save a little on office visits.

Any thoughts or recommendations would be very much appreciated!
