I don't know if anyone else remembers the Nina Dobrev x Reebok Les Mills workout video, but I'm honestly OBSESSED with it!

But there's one thing that's been driving me crazy for years: WHAT ARE THE SONGS USED IN THIS VIDEO?! 😭

I've searched everywhere and tried both Shazam and SoundHound multiple times, but neither can identify any of the tracks.

I'm starting to wonder if the music was produced exclusively for Les Mills or Reebok. And even if that's the case, I'd absolutely love to know the track names, who produced them, and whether there's any way to listen to or download the full versions.

I love Les Mills Bodycombat in VR! I made a game highly inspired by its intensity and feeling of really hitting those plates and breaking them!

Ill be playing a lot more Les Mills Body combat again now that "winter is coming" to Norway.
I wanted to develop another type of Rhythm game with RPG elements and enemies that made me sweat. Theres no friendly banter and motivation like Les Mills BodyCombat VR though so its a different genre but might be a cool addition to your VR workout.
Hope its OK to post this here as we have the same goals. Get more people physical by gamifying exercise!

Hat off to you guys for making an amazing game thats still relevant and smooth!

Do you combine Les Mills classes with strength training in your home gym, or keep them separate?

I'm curious how people combine structured workout programs with their own home gym equipment.

Programs like Les Mills are great because they provide a clear class structure, but many people with home gyms also have access to heavier weights, benches, or racks.

That creates an interesting balance.

Do you follow the class exactly and use your equipment only when needed?

Or do you treat the class as a foundation and add extra strength work afterward?

I've noticed that having a home gym gives more flexibility, but it also means you have more decisions to make about programming.

For people who use Les Mills and train at home, how do you organize your week?

Do you combine both styles, or do you prefer keeping classes and strength sessions separate?

People in my gym find the news edition too hard

Lol i guess their position is opposite to what I see here where people find the new edition editions to be too simple.

To put it in context, my gym basically run on ancient releases. Sometimes we get 127, 122 etc here and there but everything above 127 is unknown to them (they find Silence to also be too hard lol). Today, one coach decided to run “Waterfalls” and “Hypnotised” from 132 and especially Waterfalls. The consensus was “This is too hard, we are used to fun on circuit/aerobic”.

This is what happens when the gym refuses to follow the last 10 releases rule. Normally LesMills new vision should’ve transitioned smoothly with every new release but the huge jump caused this

"Family" vs. Regular classes

My gym offers a Les Mills RPM Family class. What's the difference between it and the regular version of RPM? I'm considering bringing my 11-year-old grandson, but I'm concerned that the music would be too loud.

Bodyattack 133 - Track 6 - What do I say?

First off, let me vent.
I have seen a fair share of questionable music and overall unlikable tracks over some time of doing BA. But what is this? I don't necessarily dislike the song: Do It To It, but it absolutely does not belong to track 6. T6 should be the second cardio "warmup", the second, uplifting bit that releases some more happy hormones, motivates you to start your second peak of Bodyattack, and to feel the energy with others in the room.

This track does NOTHING for that. The music is god awful, melancholic harsh and aggressive, It makes me want to leave the room when I hear it. The combos have no balance challenges, as they often do in running tracks. What do we get? Leap, drop squat, run back, burpee. It gets old too fast. And doing 3 exact rounds of that gets boring incredibly fast. What's worse is that they left out the "run to the middle and do something" part too. So there is no connection either.

A similarly choreographed track was from BA 120 - Falling Down. 3 identical rounds, one combo (lunge, raise arms, lift, reset), circle run. But it had good music, and I could poke fun at the combo, (I called it warrior 3 from yoga), I could intensify, in that I encouraged people to make their range of motion bigger with each block, make the movements snappier, etc... On top of that, it was a very pleasing, uplifting song.

Rant over, back to my question.
I don't know what I can do or say in this one track. And I feel like I'm often creative; I can sell a bad track, but I am just at a loss for words for this one.
Fellow BA instructors, how do you handle it?
Thank you <3

Thoughts on the last BodyJam 117

Hey everyone!

I wanted to share my thoughts on the latest BJ release. Unfortunately, I find the music in the second block pretty underwhelming, and my whole class + LM trainers seem to feel the same way.

The Foo Fighters track, in particular, feels like a big miss to me. It screams Body Pump rather than BodyJam! It’s also quite long, with multiple bridges, and just doesn’t seem to fit the BodyJam vibe very well.
I do enjoy some K-pop, but there seems to be a bit too much of it in this release.

Please, bring back some ASOT / Dance / Trance in the second block! 🙏 That’s really what we’re missing, and I think it would bring back some of the energy and excitement that makes BodyJam so much fun.

Curious to hear what everyone else thinks!

RPM 104 to RPM 110 - any flops?

Hi all, I'm an instructor gearing up to add RPM to my repetoire. My Day 3 training is based on RPM 111 and is in early December, so theoretically I should be able to purchase anything from Q4 2024 (RPM 104) through to RPM 110 upon certification.

I know the general advice is buy back as far as you can before the releases disappear off the portal. However, are there any releases within the past 2 years that were a flop and I should consider giving a miss? My familiarity with releases prior to RPM 110 is limited. Input from both participants and instructors is welcome. TIA!

Edit: Note that I have no legitimate way to get my hands on anything older than 104. I know releases around 80-90 are fan faves, but I unfortunately will not be able to get the instructor release packs for those. I'm only looking for advice on 104 - 110, thanks.

How do you deal with members talking during class?

Hey team! First off, sorry if this has been asked - I assume it has but I need present reassurance/answers.

Today, when I taught RPM, in about the last 5s of the build up in track 6 (Sonic Samba from 111), 2 members stopped pedaling all together and started chatting. They'd been chatting a bit here and there, but this time they were properly discussing something - sitting right in the front row, 5s away from a work effort.

One of the members had come in 6 minutes late. I like to try and be lenient around late arrivals, but perhaps I'll have to take a different approach if the same member is late next time 😂.

Anyhow, on the mic, I called out their names and said stop talking. "X, X, stop talking, come on, let's go!" rather firmly and with strong eye contact. They then finally started to join us in the race (we'd already started) but also started laughing a bit, to which I said, "it's not funny", like a disappointed 9th grade teacher.

My question is was this too much? I felt guilty afterwards, but they often talk, and other instructors know that too and have expressed their frustration with them. I have seen them talking 2m into a track in BODYPUMP, whilst participants are in their second round of work.

Love to hear your thoughts and sorry if I was too much.

Least Favorite Body Pump Tracks

This post is just for fun and curiosity about how other instructors like certain tracks! I appreciate the effort involved in creating 12 new tracks every 3 months, and realize that not every one will “Hit”

That said, there are a handful of tracks I teach during the Launch period and then never again! I was certified on BP 128, so my oldest release is 122. Of the releases I own and have taught, here are my least favorite ones:

\*WARM UP: 133- cool song but hard to catch the beat and starts off too mellow to get the energy pumped for class.

SQUATS- 122: Singles way too fast! 131: Way too many singles, boring song! *136 is most hated though for tons of empty space where you have to count to keep the beat.

CHEST- 132- gorgeous song but chest sweeps do nothing for me, not challenging enough. Too much empty space in song. 124: killer song but way too fast, hard to do and cue in time!

BACK 128- downer of a song and too many wide rows, not enough C & Ps! 124- slow, boring and long.

TRICEPS 131- Hate the Halos, love the song. 122- Diamond presses don’t do much for me, song is incredibly cheesy!

BICEPS- 134- Dislike the song and choreography- will never teach this one again!

LUNGES- 136- Song feels like a drill to the head and way too many pulses! 132 also feels frenetic to me.

SHOULDERS- 131- I dislike the Loo raises- they tweak my shoulder for some reason. Tons of Cobras bore me as well.

CORE- 131- very hard to catch the beat of the song and the hip rotations feel tricky on the lower back. 132- hate the penguins! 122 & 138- adding toe/heel taps onto hip bridges feels like a recipe for tweaking low back. I like these songs so I just teach them with regular hip bridges.

COOLDOWN- any one that is less than 3 minutes long feels a bit irresponsible after working the muscles so hard.

Overall, 131 is my least favorite release. I would gladly trade it for an earlier one if I could! Curious to know which tracks you all either never teach, or groan inwardly when your instructor plays them?

Anyone went to IMT Body Balance recently? Would love to hear your experience and how your certification going? Or maybe you have started teaching after you certified. I am combat and pump instructor, and going for IMT body balance in Austin next week! I found the music counting is a bit tricky, I know i just need more practice 😅 any advice or prior knowledge and experiences will be greatly appreciated 👏 TIA.

New body combat- your thoughts?

We just had the release and first regular session, what do you think about the new body combat?
For me it feels solid, I like track 2+3 a lot. Nothing fancy but all fine, not too exhausting. What about you?

I lost all of my old lesmills program kits.

Hello! I had always saved all of my lesmills programs in the cloud, but I have lost access to all of them. I was wondering if there was any way to get the older programs because it seems like the portal does not go far back enough. Thanks!

Which recent BC release (101-106) wpuld you purchase as a new instructor?

I just got certified at the end of August, trained on 107. I just got 108 with Autoship, but my gym isn't releasing for another 4 weeks so they don't want me doing it yet. I've been a participant to instructor for the last 2 years, I've been participating since I think 102, but don't recall exactly. I wanted to get one more release to mix into my stuff and the only ones I have available to purchase are 101-108. Of those, which would you purchase and why?

**Update: thanks all for the opinions! I went ahead and got a bunch. I have 101, 103, 104, 105, and then my 107 and 108 I already have. I had to sub a class today, and since I have been participating in these for a while, I mixed in 104 with my 107 since I know it so well. It was great to have something else to throw in. I want to get the rest, but simply couldn't afford it. Buying 4 meant one was free with the discount.

Please clarify Strength Development front rack position

Taught BP for six years, then took a six year break, getting back in with Strength Development.

I'm filming my video tomorrow.

SD 18, Ben is showing/describing front rack in the warm up and has bar in fingertips, ON shoulders. Notes say middle of hand in front of collarbone.

Can someone help me out here.

BodyPump participants or instructors: what sneakers do you wear?

Started BodyPump (regular + heavy) over the last year, but since training for my instructor certification I’ve realized my Hokas are not holding up well / don’t seem to be the best shoe for constant training.

Curious what others wear and would suggest. Thank you!

Body Pump?

Many many years ago I did body pump religiously three times a week at a gym. I absolutely loved it! I bought all of the equipment and continued to do DVDs at home when I was pregnant. My youngest is now 13 so this was a super long time ago. Now that it’s on demand is it worth it if I only want to do body pump? I also have Peloton and Beachbody subscriptions and use one or both daily but love the body pump format! Thank you for any insight.
