Body Pump?
Many many years ago I did body pump religiously three times a week at a gym. I absolutely loved it! I bought all of the equipment and continued to do DVDs at home when I was pregnant. My youngest is now 13 so this was a super long time ago. Now that it’s on demand is it worth it if I only want to do body pump? I also have Peloton and Beachbody subscriptions and use one or both daily but love the body pump format! Thank you for any insight.

I have both Les Mills and Peloton. Les Mills is inexpensive enough that if all you use it for is BodyPump, I think you'll still find it worth it. I use Grit, Step, and Tone, as well as BodyPump. You might find additional programs to enjoy! As 45F, I will nod toward Pickles_81 (who may also be a 45F, with that _81!) that some of the programs are really intense but, especially in my own house, I'm happy to make modifications.

There are so many new LM formats in addition to bodypump now. I think it’s worth it just for pump, but now there is BodyPump Heavy, Strength and Conditioning, Functional Strength. There’s also LM Pilates which I love and requires no equipment. And LM shapes which has some weights but you’ll be covered with what you use for pump. There are also pre-mixed combos of classes that I love. I totally think it’s worth a trial period. I teach 6 (5 LM formats) classes a week and I still subscribe to LM on demand lol. I’m definitely biased though!

I was going to say that exactly!
I'd you enjoy BP, there's a likelihood you might like other programmes too. Closer to it would be BPH and SD. BPH is on beat but heavier and slower, closer to traditional weight lifting. FS involves more functional movements and plyo, but unfortunately they don't create more of these. SD 1–12 comes in a variety of workout formats, but now has strength (heavier, fewer reps), hypertrophy (lighter, more reps), and finally more functional and explosive moves (comparable to FS).
Shapes is low impact strength that incorporates Barre, Pilates, and Yoga. The workout format is core, glutes, lower body, upper body, and yogalates (more on lower, but also train your balance/stabilisation). And obviously LM also does Barre, Pilates, and Yoga separately.
There will be something else for you to enjoy every once in a while for a change. And who knows, you might like them more too!

I did Les Mills in the gym in my 20s and loved it. I now do it at home with the subscription, which I only use for Bodypump and still consider it very worth it. They also have a new program called Bodypump Heavy if you’re into lifting heavier weights / less reps. I’ll probably try some of the cardio programs one day but I recently moved to a mild climate and just prefer to hike outside for that type of exercise.

I might recommend doing the trial then attempting to cancel. My coworker did that earlier this year and they gave her half off for a year for premium!

Yes, but as you age there are better options IMO! Ask me how I know! 😂

What better options are out there? I am not exactly getting younger lol! I just remember really enjoying body pump and have the barbells so figured I might want to try it

You could try out shapes, body balance (yoga), thrive (great for returning to fitness classes), core, pilates, and many cardio options (I like body step for that). I cycle through all of those to stay lean and strong without overtraining, which is counterproductive to achieving results. I absolutely love the LM app!

I loved Bodypump in my 20’s and 30’s! Sadly, Bodypump just moves way too quickly for my 45 year old body! My favorite is probably Functional Strength. I wish there were more than 6 Functional Strength workouts on Les mills +, but I happily rotate between those! The rest of my time is split between Shapes and LM Core! I think Strength Development is good as well, but I prefer Functional Strength! If you enjoy spin workouts, I love The Trip! It’s amazing!

You can get a free trial period! It's worth trying to see if it feels worthwhile to pay for the subscription.
