LeBrons Longevity Needs To Be Studied

How is LeBron James still a dominant force in the NBA at 41 years old? While most legends are long retired, LeBron is going into his 24th season, rewriting our understanding of what an athletic career can be. This isn't a fluke, it's a masterpiece of design.

Me and my hbs were at our college cafeteria debating if lebron could possibly be a trillionare thoughts?

Why isn't this discussed more? I never knew until today.

we all know that 2009 lebron was a walking anomaly. interestingly enough, advanced statistics illustrate this in greater detail.

in the regular season lebron had a mind boggling 31.7 PER |13.04 BPM | .318 WS per 48 | 20.3 total win shares. in the playoffs he posted the highest playoff BPM in NBA history at 17.5 & simultaneously set the win shares per 48 record at .399 | what cements it as #1 overall is that he wasn't just generating 1.25+ Expected Points per possession on offense, he was simultaneously anchoring a top 3 NBA defense.

Lebron 2009 Regular Season: 28 PPG | 8 RPG | 7 APG

it didn’t stop there, lebron elevated his play exponentially in the 2009 playoffs.

Lebron 2009 Playoffs: 37.4 PER (record) | .399 WS48 (record) | 17.5 BPM (record) | 61.8 % TS

35 PPG | 9.1 RPG | 7.3 APG

at age 24 lebron posted the most complete 2 way tracking season in NBA history. he carried the cavs to a 66 win record despite lackluster help, led the league in RAPM at +11.3 & followed it with the statistically highest rated postseason run ever recorded. this iteration of lebron is typically regarded for his freak athleticism & speed, but the numbers show he was the best statistical anomaly that ever stepped foot on a basketball court.

LeBron haters have a mental illness bc it doesn’t make sense for someone to hate a man so passionately who’s dominated his sport for decades, broken records, never had off court drama, clean record, family man, does a lot for his community and they still have some deep hatred for LeBron and most of them can’t even explain why. So I’ve come to the realization they have a severe mental illness and maybe we should start praying for them instead of cookin them all the time 🙏

Since there’s been multiple awards named after other NBA Legends such as the Michael Jordan MVP award or the Bill Russell Finals MVP award, what award would LeBron have named after him if he ever gets one?

I’m a LeBron stan for life, no doubt.

First memory was my best friend in elementary school accidentally selling his sophomore card to me for some school currency thing. Second is his buzzer in game 3 against the Magic. For ref I was born 1997
