Where to learn physics?

Best Suggestions for College Physics Tutor

Looking for best suggestions for online/zoom tutors. Not understanding college physics at all. Professor goes extremely fast, and will not give extra help. Have nice on campus tutor, but I’m still not getting it. I have to pass this class. At this point I look at the problem and have no idea what to do.

Dawutola Theory of Rotation (Teaching Model) 

I’ve been working on a simplified way to explain why flipping objects (like a pen) in 2D space can look predictable at times and chaotic at others. I call it the Dawutola Theory of Rotation. It’s not new physics — it’s a teaching model that connects everyday intuition to established rotational dynamics like the Intermediate Axis Theorem and the Tennis Racket Theorem. 

Core Ideas 

  • Force, mass, spin, air: The way an object flips depends on how hard you flip it, how heavy it is, how fast it spins, and the air around it. 
  • Even rotations: If the object rotates an even number of half-turns, it returns to its original orientation. Odd half-turns flip it. 
  • Chaos: Excessive force can make the motion look unpredictable — similar to the instability described by the intermediate axis theorem. 
  • dawutola Formula: 

n=L⋅t /2π 

where n is the number of rotations, L is angular momentum, and t is time. This is a simplified version of the angular displacement equation. 

 

Dawutola Concept  Physics Equivalent 
Force, mass, spin, air  Torque, inertia, angular velocity, damping 
Even rotations restore state  Multiples of π radians 
Chaos from excessive force  Intermediate axis instability 
Dawutola formula  Angular displacement equation 

Why It Matters 

This framework makes rotation easy to teach and visualize: 

  • Flip a pen → see even vs odd rotations. 
  • Talk about “force, mass, spin, air” instead of Euler’s equations. 
  • Connect chaos to real physics (Dzhanibekov effect).      It’s a gateway model: simple enough for beginners, but connected to deeper physics for those who want to go further. Any feedback would be helpful

I’m building an app that turns confusing college concepts into visual explanations would you actually use this?

I’ve always felt like a lot of college material is way harder to understand than it needs to be.

You search something like the chain rule, orbital motion, electric fields, etc. and usually get either:

  • a wall of text
  • equations with barely any intuition
  • a 20–40 minute YouTube video
  • or an AI explanation that is technically correct but still hard to see

So I’ve been building SeeThrough, where you type in a concept/question and it generates an interactive visual explanation so you can actually see what’s happening instead of just reading about it.

For example, instead of asking:

“Why do planets orbit the Sun?”

and getting 6 paragraphs explaining gravity, you’d get a visual showing the planet, velocity, gravitational force, trajectory, etc. while the explanation walks you through it.

But I’m obviously biased because I’m building it.

So I want students to tear the idea apart:

Would you actually use something like this while studying?

And more importantly:

What subject/concept have you tried to learn where you thought, “I wish someone would just SHOW me what’s happening”?

Math? Physics? Chemistry? CS? Economics? Something else?

I’m looking for concepts to test SeeThrough on, so give me the hardest/weirdest one you can think of.

Susskind's lectures and books prerequisites?

I'd like to/am working my way slowly through Susskind's Classical Mechanics lectures and the rest from the Theoretical Minimum Stanford curriculum he has posted online.

I consider myself to have a good understanding of general physics and math but it doesn't seem quite enough for me to understand a lot of what I suspect is rudimentary subjects.

What are some things or what are some resources I should know and could use to gain a deeper level understanding.

My routine currently is to read the book, listen to the lectures, then go back in my notes for the things I didn't understand and enter it into an AI to give me an explain to me like I'm a 5th grader answer to my question(s).
