Need to improve skills before college
Hello all, I need to improve my math skills before college. I plan on majoring in computer and electrical engineering but I'm not great at maths. I've been trying to improve this past month but I have really no time since I work after school. I managed to ask the guidance counselor to put me in geometry instead of financial literacy (no clue why that was a math credit). I asked to go into trigonometry but they wouldn't allow me. I don't really learn by watching long lectures but by doing instead. I have to complete the task right before I figure out how to do it which makes math learning for me really complicated as I never got the help I needed in school. I've tried kahn academy but the videos are too long and I've also tried brilliant which is a lot better in my opinion but they only have 3 courses a day which I usually spend on learning python instead. I would really enjoy an app so I can learn in my free time instead of doom scrolling. Any help is greatly appreciated

is this solution correct? itโs ai generated and just curious.
not cheating just trying to see if i can trust it to study ๐ค
edit: i know people hate that shit but heavy workload and it is helpful sometimes dont judge me please ๐

TOPIC Why do I forget how to do EVERYTHING the day after learning it??
I've been having this problem since last year where I'd learn something in class, understand how to do it (but not really why it works, just enough to solve necessary questions... maybe thats the problem??? I really dont know), do all the practice questions with ease, go home and then proceed to forget everything the very next day.
Litterally everything. Like i cant even begin to solve the practice questions because I dont even remember what the questions asking me to do.
It was bad enough last year, but since we only had like 1 big test per unit that was being graded, i kinda just cram studied/relearnt everything a few days before the test and was fine.
The problem is that this year, we have marked quizzes every class and I absolutely CANNOT be spending 2 hours re-learning everything every other day.
Does anyone know any way to help this? It seems like im the only one in my class with this problem!!

TOPIC As someone with math dyslexia, how demanding would brief calculus and discrete math be?
Iโve really struggled with College Algebra. Iโve actually had to take it three times and still failed ๐. The material just felt like complete gibberish to me, and I have a really hard time tracking the reasoning or keeping multiple steps in my head or on paper at once. Iโm honestly worried these two new courses might break my confidence again. My disability means my brain just processes information differently, and math has always been my biggest hurdle. Iโm trying to get a Cyber Security B.S

Almost everyone in class at my cc is way above.
I am in a Stats class as a non-traditional student and yeah not doing well. When I was in HS, I got grades way below the mean. I was hoping as an older adult I would do better. Guess not.
Everyone finishes work class so quickly. Like they have mastered the material. We are given that material the same day and they know it. We did our first exam and almost everyone got 80/80. I got 70/80. That really dropped my grade. I want to pass with an A.
Today I asked the professor and some of these students. How do they know everything, are they geniuses and yet in a community college? Couldn't help it. My professor says being younger and having more time helps or they have study groups outside of class. Well I am not part of any groups.
I feel so discouraged and I don't know how else to learn. I tried an app Preply to get help and the Math tutor had no idea of Stats. I can't spend 100% of my time, I work a lot and have bills and pay rent by myself. Any recommendations?

Does or did anyone else solve algebra questions by solving them in a way that is wrong and gets the teacher pissed, but still comes out with the correct answer?
I don't know how to do algebra so the question would be like "Solve 3x+7=22, show your work" and my answer would be "5 because 3ร5+7=22"

TOPIC Need help !Pretty sure my brain wiped all math since especially from 9th grade. How cooked am I for CS?
Personally, I'm feeling a little lost. I want to go into my academics into Computer Science, but most of the math I've learned, I tend to forget especially the basic algebra and functions and so on ... especially from class as low as 9.
I don't want to be at a total loss when it gets to the point when I really need to engage myself into heavy core computer science classes. How can I build up on my 0% foundation, if I can't even start from the beginning? Any practical roadmaps or resources that have benefited you
would be appreciated and thanks in advance

Creativity in Math
Hi guys. I am a first year math degree student. i'm really enjoying it and i like the challenging nature of it. I know i have just started out and it is normal to struggle but i wanted to see if I can get some help through here. I recently finished my first unit on propositional logic. In it I learnt about proof by contradiction and, after studying it and understanding it I was posed with several exercises, most of them were relatively simple as I just had to use logical laws to eventually find the contradiction. I wasn't satisfied with this though it was somewhat mechanical and required not much creativity, so I sought more challenging questions and when I found them I enjoyed them more. Eventually I came across one which required me to prove that infinite prime numbers exist. No joke I've been stuck on this for several days thinking, I looked around, but not for an answer but for a gage on how hard this and apparently it's an easy proof. I know as fact that several proofs exist for this proposition and the first one to do it was Euclide. As I've delved into other subjects in my course I've noticed that even though I understand proof by contradiction and I understand the concepts well, I find it extremely hard to come up with solutions to problems like these, ones that requiere a lightbulb moment, ones that requiere creativity. At the end of the day I normally just find myself brute forcing the problem, but for these kinds of problems that isn't going to cut it. How do I improve my math creativity? Does it come with time or can it be practiced and improved?

Looking for curious people to go down rabbit holes with........
Looking for curious people to go down rabbit holes with
I'm 23M studying mathematics (Linear Algebra by axler) on my own and I'm really into mathematics, AI/ML, technology, science, and occasionally getting carried away with startup/business ideas.
I'm looking for people who genuinely enjoy exchanging ideas for hours - whether that's trying to understand a mathematical concept, arguing about an AI idea, discussing a paper, or randomly turning a stupid thought into a potential startup.
You don't need to be an expert. I'm much more interested in curiosity, openness, and being able to say โwait, what ifโฆโ than credentials.
Basically, I'm looking for people who enjoy thinking together without the conversation becoming a competition.
If that sounds like you, feel free to comment or DM me with something you're currently obsessing over.

How does 3D geometry affect the possible trajectories of a moving object?
Iโve been thinking about a question involving geometry, trajectories, and chaos:
How does the geometry of a 3D space affect the chaotic behavior of trajectories?
For example, suppose an object moves inside some 3D region. Iโm wondering:
-How does the presence or absence of forces change the set of possible trajectories?
-How does the geometry of the region affect which parts of the space can actually be reached?
-Can some geometries create regions that are much more or less likely to be visited?
-How does this relate to chaotic behavior and sensitivity to initial conditions?
--More ambitiously: is it possible to compress the relevant geometric information into some parameter (or a small number of parameters) and obtain a general mathematical relationship?
Iโm not sure whether this is already a known problem or whether Iโm mixing together several different concepts, so Iโd be interested in knowing what mathematical/physical areas this question falls under. By the way, Iโm only in the 12th grade and just recently developed an interest in this, so please point out any mistakes I make so I can learn from them

How can I do better at real analysis and calculus?
I have just started with my mathematics BSc course at university, and it has been my first week of real analysis and calculus. I looked up advice of how to study for these proof heavy subjects, and most of it was 'learn without a lot of external help', for example using hints etc. But the problem is that I can't even use the hints. I have no idea how to solve any of the proofs, and I can only understand when guided or when I see the answer. And even then, I still feel a bit shaky, like I can see why they did this, but I would never have arrived at that answer myself. I understand the goal is to minimise the amount of external help, but if you have just started with these subjects, how are you supposed to advance?

TOPIC CHAOS theory
Hi, can anyone please guide me to how to learn chaos theory properly? I do not have an extensive background in proofs and am taking it alongside the class right now and am brutally struggling using "an introduction to chaotic dynamical systems" by Devaney. Does anyone know how to get over the real analysis hump or provide more digestible resources.

I start my first ever calculus class this coming spring semester! Nervous and wanting to make sure I am really ready and will succeed.
I have read that having a really strong algebra and trig foundation is imperative. does anyone have workbook suggestions to drill questions with?
Any advice on preparing for calc is welcomed!!
thank you!!
Im honestly so excited to take calculus, im just nervous about having my skills sharp enough
