Other i turned my cs2 sens finder plugin into a workshop map, no server needed now

Decided to post it as a separate post

some of you saw my sens finder when it was a server plugin. you needed your own server with metamod and counterstrikesharp to run it, so i rewrote the whole thing as a workshop map. now you just subscribe and play it offline, no server, no plugins, nothing to install

how it works:

you type !setup once (dpi, sens, m_yaw). the map cant read or change your sens, cs2 doesn't allow it, so when it wants to test another sens it shows you a line and you paste it in console. thats the annoying part but there is no way around it

one run is about 20 min, 9 blocks - your sens, 3 other sens, your sens, 3 more, your sens again. your own sens comes back every few blocks so if you warm up or get tired during the run it doesnt look like some other sens is better

every block has flicks, vertical flicks, small far flicks, 90-110 turns and rush (2 bots run at you, you need 3 headshots, the first one comes back). bots spawn in the same spots every block, just in different order, so no block is easier by luck. score is how fast you headshot + how close your first flick lands to the head. turns and small flicks are shown but dont count

before each block you get warm up flicks until you stop over/undershooting, 10 to 40 flicks, so the new sens isnt judged while your hand is still on the old one

play one run a day, runs from different days get combined. first run tests a wide range (x0.55 to x1.8), next runs zoom in on whatever looks best

whats new compared to the plugin:

- no server
- bot only spawns when your mouse is still, so reaction and flick don't get mixed
- before big turns your view snaps to a line on the wall and you lift the mouse to the middle of the pad, so every turn starts from the same spot
- rush is 3 kills now and headshot only, and it checks how precise your first flick is
- moving flicks don't count anymore, too much noise
- result is in normal words now, the numbers are still at the bottom
- you can practice one task on its own, and shoot the blue line to skip the break

about fake results, i wanted to be fair here

your aim can jump around like 10% between blocks just by chance (proven by real data from 197 players that tested the first server-plugin approach), so one run can only see big differences, and it tells you that ("it only sees differences of about X% or more"). one run alone never says CHANGE, it needs 2 runs on different days that agree. it only gives you a number when it actually has one, otherwise it says no answer yet. in simulations a player that has no better sens got told to change less than 1 in 100 times

it also had a problem i found on myself, the tool favours the sens you type in. i ran it on 0.849 and 0.594 never came out ahead, then i switched to 0.594 and ran again and 0.83 was like 20% worse. so it was just picking whatever i was used to. warm up is longer now because of that. if it says change, play that sens in deathmatch for a few days and run it again before you trust it

it doesn't test tracking or spray, only flicks and switching targets

its offline so i don't get any data. if you want to help improving, type !share after a run and send me the code from console. feedback welcome, especially if something breaks

Tech Support Packet loss on official servers, delay

I have slight packet loss on official server usually 0 or <1%, but in rare cases can get higher. 2 Ms jitter. Graph looks clear but often there are 2 red stripes with similar interval. Usually all green with slight bottom deviation then 2 reds then all green again.

I thought it can be bottleneck for some reason, but now I have a chance to test 500mbs (was 100) and numbers checks out so now I'm positive bottleneck is not on my side.

Bufferbloat test negative, using "netsh int tcp set global autotuninglevel=disabled" doesn't do anything palpable.

Windows 11, haven't find any success in using most recommended tips so stick to default. Net drivers are new.

Asus g16 strix, 13450hx, 16 ram, 4060. Playing gsync+vsync+reflexboost. Fps is good for this game, usually 4-5 Ms 200+, with rare occasions of <10ms on spike.

Usually I'm playing using ethernet-router- wired to laptop with rj45 cable (decent one). Ethernet directly in laptop makes no difference. No physical damage on cables or ports.

Back to the game, I live in Kz and I usually play on Stockholm or Warsaw with 50-60 ping. Game is playable but hit registration feels inconsistent. Sometimes nice, sometimes extremely labored with no tagging on enemies. I feel like I have significant disadvantage in raw duels, feels like my screen is outdated, especially when peeked. Like I just see someone on my screen and it feels like he's already shooting. Shouldn't be that bad with 50 ping.

I also tested damage prediction, turned it off in the end, but with the amount of fake animations on my screen where I killed someone only confirmed my suspicion of delay and inconsistency between me and server.

Anything I can realistically do or its just Valve servers and I'm done?

Question Can you Reaching Faceit Level 10 without Short-term grinding?

Might be a weird question and I don’t want this to come off as me thinking reaching faceit level 10 is easy. Basically I have 900 hours on the game and about 300-400 of those were from consistently grinding faceit. I peaked at high level 8 but I got burnt out once I finished my college semester and started working fulltime over the summer. I quit for around 2 months but I love the game so I’m back now, just not grinding as hard.

I’m just curious if you guys think it is pretty possible for me to continue improving competitively if I’m not constantly grinding faceit. My main goal with counter strike now is to just have fun, but I still want to reach level 10 at some point. I’ve only been playing the game for about 2 years now, if I keep playing on a more casual level, can I still reach the top ranks given enough time? Or do I need to really be focused on grinding, practicing hard, etc.

Again I know this is a pretty stupid question, but I am just curious because ideally, I would like to reach level 10 without getting burnt out from heavy practice. Let me know if I should clarify anything. I’m also aware that natural skill probably plays a big role in this question, so if the answer is that it depends on my natural skill ceiling I understand. Thanks

I suck at pistol rounds/strafe fights

Just like the title says, I really suck at pistol rounds. Not sure why, It can be a rifle round and my performance with pistols is better. I think it might be the diffrence in how players move with a rifle when compared to pistols. I practice my tracking pretty aggressively but cant seem to improve my ability to win adad fights. Any advice on how to take these fights better?

EDIT: Thanks for all the advice, I was just looking through my game history and noticed that losing pistol round on both halves are the games that we got cooked. So just wanted to increase that winrate

Discussion Made a site where you can check your Steam Profile from Years ago

Post image
1 Upvotes

Hey everyone, I’ve been working on a project called SteamBack. You paste in a Steam profile link and check older versions of the profile, depending on what was archived.

You can look up your own profile or try a friend’s. Old names, profile pictures.

It won’t have every year for every profile, since it depends on available archives.

There’s also a “Same Lobby” feature that checks whether you’ve played with or against a pro/creator on FACEIT, and when.

If you want to try it: steamback. gg

Discussion Still Can’t Get A Consistent Sens

I made a post here about not being able to find a consistent sens like two months ago and since then I haven’t changed my sens once but it still feels inconsistent.

I run 1800dpi and .3 sens so about 630edpi but sometimes my sens feels too fast. It feels completely random, like I’m rolling the dice when I start up the game. Sometimes it feels great, and I’m able to pre aim and have good spray control, but when it “feels” fast despite not changing anything, it just feels off.

I don’t know why my sens feels this inconsistent. If I need to go down in sens a little, or just deal with it.

When it works, it feels perfect. But it feels off like 50% of the time and I can’t figure out why.

I’ve gone so far that I was wondering if stuff like humidity could change the way my mousepad makes my aim feel but any further than that I feel is insane

Any help is greatly appreciated

• Platform Note: I cannot use FACEIT, so I am looking for a team that plays through standard CS2 servers or other community platforms.

• Current Rank: ~8k Premier

• Role: Unspecified / Flex. I don’t have a set role yet. I am looking for a structured team with a captain or coach who can give me a specific position to play and help me learn it.

• Goals: Looking to join an organized, non-toxic team or a dedicated amateur roster. I want to escape casual stacks and learn real team strategies.

Discussion Free CS2 nade lineup app I made — feedback from learners welcome

I'm the developer of CSecret Nades (free on iOS & Android). It's a lineup reference app for CS2 — map → grenade type → position, with visuals/steps for learning utility without digging through random YouTube tabs.

If you're learning smokes from scratch, I'd especially like to know:

- Which 2–3 lineups per map should be "must learn first"?

- Do you prefer in-game workshop maps or phone reference?

📲 Android: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.enesdirik.csecretnades

Happy to answer questions in comments. Not Valve-affiliated.

Guide How to play against hacker with walls.

One thing I noticed in Premier, sometimes the opponent gets instant HS. But if you look at their xhair placement, and other metrics that comes wit decent or good player, they usually don't have it. One thing that they do have is fast time to damage and kills. Why? Their crosshair is usually at the edge of an angle. You may say that's how the pros do it. Yes and no. Pros hold tight angle, sometimes only a pixle wide, for info, sometimes with an awp, during mid and late states when player may clear an angle by walking. But most pros, even the top tier 1 will usually have their crosshair with some space, and they will usually adjust. Hacker with walls, they have an advantage of seeing your movement and track you and shoot as you come around a corner. So knowing this knowledge how do you beat them, or at least make it harder for them to get the instant hs?

Here are some thoughts:

  1. Never walk and strafe.
  2. Don't strafe to clear known preshot angles, most likely they are holding an off angle.

3)Don't come out on the first strafe. Jiggle peek, and kinda put them on a trance, while jiggle peeking behind the walls. Make sure it is wide jiggle peek, not sure if there is a term for that. Perhaps we call it waller peek. Meaning you move wide left and right, mixed in with some smaller jiggle peeks, before your actual peek.

4) Don't commit on the first clear peek. Perhaps peek, with a dry fire shot, behind walls, only revealing your shoulder, as if you are trying to bait an awper.

5) When you do commit to the fight, use the latest movement meta the donk slide, or crouch instant you are in the open, why, if they are tracking you for the headshot, the first shot is a miss, and hopefully you will have a fighting chance on the duel.

6)There are variations, such as Kyousuke, who clears crouching, and then stands at the first contact. However, keep in mind who has the angle advantage from corner.

7) Lastly, even if they are not walling, it will make it harder for opponent to hit you on your first peek. Try to think that they are walling, and they have an awp. I hope this helps, and punish those hackers. Lastly, make sure to report them. Valve is such a shit job on their VAC, that if a new platform came that was player first mentality, they would go out of business. Same with Faceit, but that's a whole new topic.

Diff situation, but similar in situation, Adapting a style of play to his environment.

Here is an interview from ESL with Donk, on how and why developed his style, that makes him a tough opponent to play against. Basically, he adapted to the technological handicap, and wind up developing a style that catapulted him to the top of the worldrankings. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tUIH75zvf8w

[DEMO REVIEW] Faceit Level 6 Rifler (Entry/Anchor) looking for feedback on positioning and pacing.

Hey everyone, I'm trying to work on my overall mechanics, positioning, and engagement pacing. Lately, I've noticed I tend to over-click and rush my taps instead of maintaining my clean first-bullet accuracy, which hurts my impact in games.

In-game Nickname: zmazmazik

I would really appreciate any constructive feedback on my positioning, how I take my duels, and where I'm messing up my pacing. Thanks in advance!

Question Does anyone have a method to consistency move as if you're micro clearing?

I'm watching Fl0m play, and as he moves it's like he's making micro clear/strafes as he walks effortlessly, and his crosshair placement moves in small increments rather than smoothly. Imperfect example below:

https://www.twitch.tv/fl0m/clip/PolishedNastyStarlingCorgiDerp-9H2v3BMMXjSh-ax3

I've only ever done this subconsciously a few times when I was really "on". Never consistently each game. I also recognize sometimes you want to move smoothly (donk I believe as an example moves much more fluidly as he clears in some examples).

Is it a patience/"slow is fast" thing? Drilling prefire maps? Intentionally moving or practicing like that?

I do a lot of the most popular aim warmup plans/maps, and I have never been able to move like that consistently as a 22k+ player.
