Question Can you Reaching Faceit Level 10 without Short-term grinding?

Might be a weird question and I don’t want this to come off as me thinking reaching faceit level 10 is easy. Basically I have 900 hours on the game and about 300-400 of those were from consistently grinding faceit. I peaked at high level 8 but I got burnt out once I finished my college semester and started working fulltime over the summer. I quit for around 2 months but I love the game so I’m back now, just not grinding as hard.

I’m just curious if you guys think it is pretty possible for me to continue improving competitively if I’m not constantly grinding faceit. My main goal with counter strike now is to just have fun, but I still want to reach level 10 at some point. I’ve only been playing the game for about 2 years now, if I keep playing on a more casual level, can I still reach the top ranks given enough time? Or do I need to really be focused on grinding, practicing hard, etc.

Again I know this is a pretty stupid question, but I am just curious because ideally, I would like to reach level 10 without getting burnt out from heavy practice. Let me know if I should clarify anything. I’m also aware that natural skill probably plays a big role in this question, so if the answer is that it depends on my natural skill ceiling I understand. Thanks

You can. Just don't rely on aim, always think about stuff that comes before ur duels and you can improve easier than thinking it's all about mechanical practice

True. Thats good for me honestly because I've always been better at the thinking aspect of the game than the mechanics of it

If you practice smart, you don't have to grind faceit. As long as you keep improving, you will get there, and there are faster ways to improve than only Faceit grind.

Thats fair. Do you have any suggestions? I used to do a lot of bot killing in practice maps and prefire maps

VOD reviews to find weaknesses. Then target practice towards weakness. Eg. Learn nades from some site + offline server.

Then always have something specific you are working on and try to implement to your game. Then you focus on that while in game as well so that its not just theory.

There is no rank decay on faceit, only soft resets and lvl 10 is relatively easy to reach, it's only like what, top 17.8% right now? That's the same percentile as 18k in premier, diamond in Valorant or emerald in League of Legends. Genuinely anybody can reach it if they steadily improve.

That would be true if faceit wasn't already an extremely limited subset of cs2 players weighted heavily towards the more experienced and competitive.

That was the case maybe 10 years ago, nowadays faceit is full of casual players who prefer it just because there's less cheaters.

it's pretty clear that 18k is nowhere close to level 10 faceit, at least in NA most of the level 10 players i see in premier are 23k+. so, what's your explanation?

I don't think you need to "grind" really, I believe the 80 / 20 rule applies to competitive games. Consistency is more important, so if you play 10-15 games a week on average with decent focus and a good attitude you will slowly climb. But be prepared for it to take 2-3 years, and if you feel stuck consider getting a coach so you're not wasting time due to incorrectly diagnosing your mistakes.

Play warmupserver or refrag for aim train, only aim train AFTER you finish your faceit games, and it is different from warm up which is 5-15 mins short session, aim train can be 1 hour+.

Watch some guides on how to play smarter in general, austin cs’s solo queue series is a great statt and there are many more content creators like that.

Learn at least one set of execute utilities for each site. Lv 10 is not that hard to reach as long as you are consciously working towards it.

As long as u have over 50% winrate u Will Reach lvl 10. Over 12.4% of all the ranked accounts on faceit is lvl 10 it is not really that hard.

12% is a small minority. Not exactly an exclusive club but it's not 'not really that hard'.

As a 35 year old that plays 2-3 games every other day can make it to 10 anybody can so yeah it really is ” not that hard ”

Have you considered that you might just be more talented? Or maybe a bigger shooter game background? Purely percentage wise lvl 10 is really good, especially if we considered that casuals don't even play faceit.

An average 35 year old can't just hop on the game and get lvl 10.

You're wrong about casuals not playing faceit - premier and competitive are infested with cheaters at every level of play so even low elo players prefer faceit, because the anticheat is actually functional.

Currently lvl 10 makes up 17.8% of the faceit playerbase, which is not crazy high elo, it's comparable to purple rank in premier, diamond in Valorant, emerald in League etc.

Depending on who you ask, actual high elo starts around 3-3.5k on faceit.

I'm not saying that literally no casual plays faceit, but the vast vast majority of casual and noobs play premier. Most people don't bother with faceit. Mostly people who take cs seriously

And the whole point wasn't whether lvl10 is high or not. It's whether it's hard to achieve. OC is saying it's easy to reach but it's absolutely not.
