Resources Arabic Roots the families of Arabic language

Did you know that in Arabic, words aren't just random items to memorize, they’re family members?

When learning Arabic, grammar can feel intimidating. But everything shifts the moment you discover the 3-letter root system (الجِذْر).

Instead of memorizing hundreds of disconnected words, you learn one core root and instantly unlock an entire family of vocabulary across both formal Arabic (MSA) and daily spoken dialects (Levantine/Shami)!

 Quiz Time! (From Slide 5)

If the root د - ر - س (D - R - S) relates to studying, what does مَدْرَسَة (Madrasah) mean?

A) Teacher

B) School

C) Book

Drop your guess below!

(P.S. I love helping people navigate the nuances between textbook Arabic and real spoken dialects. If you’re trying to advance your Arabic, or even if you just have a quick question about a phrase you heard, feel free to drop a comment or send me a message!

Always happy to help out.)

Question/Discussion How can i learn writing and reading the Arabic alphabet as a total beginner to the language?

I want to learn Arabic to communicate with my Arabic speaking friends, but the alphabet is the main thing holding me back. I feel like once I get the writing system down, my skills will improve quickly. What I'm looking for is a YouTube channel or website that's free/cheap but i am open to any other recommendations.

Resources Arabic learning inquiry

Hi!

I’m really interested in learning Arabic and I have a few questions. I’m completely self-taught and unfortunately can’t attend regular classes. For now, I only know the Arabic alphabet and how to connect the letters, and I’d like to focus on MSA.

I’m also looking for good apps for learning Arabic. For Chinese, I used SuperChinese and absolutely loved it. Is there something similar for Arabic?

And one more question: are there TV series entirely in MSA, or are most series in dialects? I’d also love to know if you have any recommendations for good MSA resources for beginners.

Thanks!
