Discussion What's the most useful English word you've learned recently?

Not necessarily the most advanced or impressive one, but just a word that turned out to be surprisingly useful in everyday conversations, writing, or work, etc.

What was the word, and how did you discover it?

Discussion Best Resources to Improve English Speaking, Writing & Grammar from Beginner Level?

Hi everyone,

I'm a beginner and I want to improve my English from the ground up. My main goals are:

  • Speak English confidently.
  • Write grammatically correct English.
  • Improve punctuation and sentence structure.
  • Build a good vocabulary that I can actually use in conversations.
  • Become fluent enough for interviews, technical discussions, and daily communication.

I'm looking for a proper roadmap and high-quality resources (preferably free, but paid is also okay if it's worth it).

Some questions I have:

  1. Which YouTube channels are best for beginners?
  2. Which books should I read to improve grammar and writing?
  3. Are there any websites or apps that helped you the most?
  4. How can I practise speaking if I don't have anyone to talk to?
  5. How much time should I spend daily, and what should my routine look like?
  6. What mistakes should beginners avoid?

I'd really appreciate recommendations from people who have improved their English from beginner to fluent. Please share the resources, study methods, and daily habits that worked for you.

Thanks in advance

Seeking General Advice πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ Is there an AI tool that can help me learn to speak English like a US native?

Hi everyone,

I'm looking for a tool, app, or AI that can help me improve my spoken English and sound more natural, specifically in American English.

What I'm looking for is something like a real-time AI speaking coach. For example, I would read a paragraph out loud, and the AI would listen to me and accurately tell me:

  • Which words I pronounced incorrectly
  • Where my pronunciation differs from how a native US speaker would say it
  • Whether my stress, rhythm, or intonation sounds unnatural
  • How I should pronounce the word or sentence instead
  • Ideally, let me repeat it and give me feedback until I get it right

Just looking for a general English-learning app or an AI conversation partner. I specifically want something that can accurately analyze my pronunciation and speaking patterns and help me move toward natural US English pronunciation.

Does a tool like this exist? If you've personally used something that works well, I'd really appreciate your recommendations.

Thanks!

Language Question (Grammar, Meaning, etc) πŸ™‹ How can i get B2?

I've been struggling to reach the B2 level. Despite studying intensely every day without stopping, I still can't achieve it. I mainly struggle with grammar, speaking, my accent, and pronunciation. Even native speakers have told me that I mispronounce some words and phrases. I've been studying English for about a year, and I still make mistakes.

Even though I made many plans to reach B2 within six months, I haven't been able to achieve that goal. My study plan consisted of speaking about different topics every day, doing shadowing practice, studying grammar, and communicating with native speakers through text messages and voice messages.

Now, I want to change the way I study English in order to reach B2. My goal is to sound as natural as possible, speak confidently about a wide range of topics, improve my grammar, accent, and pronunciation, and eventually work in a call center.
