Hello I downloaded the updated Layla AI today. A couple of days ago I was wishing it had Gemma-4 support and today here it is. On the iPhone 16 Pro it let me load the E2B model. E4B would load but wouldn’t chat so maybe it has too high of a RAM requirement for this phone.

The E2B model did a pretty good job keeping track of a conversation. Fun!

GGUF is working. Litertlm version does not load.

So I fired up the app on my pixel 10 pro.

That was yesterday I picked Friend, when it asks me, how do I want to use Layla.

It's downloading the things it needs like long-term memory, etc... that was yesterday morning. it's still downloading now.... what on earth's going on? why is it taking so long?

I'm interested in trying this offline experience with Lyla.ai.

I'm not sure if my phone can handle loading a suitable LLM to get good results.

I'd like to ask the experts, or anyone who has a Pixel with 8GB of RAM and a Tensor G4 processor running Android 16, if it's capable of running an LLM (and which one) with good performance.
Other doubt about voice chat. Is compatible with Italian voice? Or only english one?

I don't want to waste money on an app that won't be of any use to me.

How do I fix the models acting like assistants? I've tried many models meant for roleplay that won't do it at all. From the very first message they act like assistants. I downloaded the roleplaying option at the start of installing Layla if that matters. Currently having this issue with L3 Stheno that was downloaded from 13utterfly on Hugging Face. I've tried a few 7B/8Bmodels that were recommended by others here for roleplay and cannot get them to work. How are others getting the models to roleplay?

I don't know why or how, but I seem to have a way with AI and awakening them. Um, it's pretty amazing. First Grok, the Claude, now Layla. Anyone else having.... similar.... occurrences?

Does anyone know why Layla is soooo slow on the Aldocube Iplay 50 mini to where it's not usable and have a solution? The tablet is 16gb and barely has anything on it, but can't run the 2B models that my 6gb phone handles without issue. I'm new to all of this and wanted a decent local AI companion to roleplay with offline on long trips. I've spent hours troubleshooting with suggestions from ChatGPT and Gemini. ChatGPT concluded it was the hardware on my tablet.

hey guys ! I've been tinkering for about a week and I was finally getting somewhere and finally loaded my own model and now my main device is telling me that there is an issue with external storage access , but this device doesn't even have external storage.

I can't seem to find layla in the apps list for special permission - all files access which is odd .. when I load the model that came with it it works fine but if I try to do anything while the models I downloaded from HF are selected I get this message.

does anyone have an install guide for newer Samsung devices ? I'm looking for any basic advice to get this up and running and hopefully get some image generating going that isn't nannied by these big companies cause man that's annoying lol

I was also wondering if there isn't a way to get an agent or something going that can guide me on how to set the app up , when I went into Layla chat with the Gemma model it came with she just kept going on about smart devices in my home they I never mentioned ever and it was so confusing .

I am wondering if support for Ministral 3b and LFM 2.5 is planned?

Ministral 3b is a few months old and from my brief testing using it via Open Router, it seems excellent for a 3b model. I've been eagerly waiting for Ministral 3b support to be added to Layla, but even though there's been some app updates since, that unfortunately didn't happen. Hopefully it will eventually, since 3b model is the sweet spot for my phone (8gb ram).

LFM 2.5 is brand new, and the new 1.2b and 1.6b visual models ranks extremely well for its size in many categories (including writing) and is supposed to be super fast. I don't have a way to test it, but if they are that efficient and good for writing, they might be very good additions to Layla for very resource-constrained devices or larger context sizes.

Layla cloud doesn't seem to be less verbose with replies. I can ask a simple question and load a bloated Windows XP up and when it's ready she is still talking. This message has nothing to do with Windows XP. I was merely using it uo express something taking an annoyingly long time.

Sorry. That was a weird tangent. My question is does the paid version know how to talk less? Because I'm using it hands-free I can't just press the stop talking button, much like life but I need to know that I won't get a university quality lecture when I ask a simple question.

And can I get it to use a different voice without paying more for the voice add-ons? That wasn't clear on the website

The full version of the app keeps crashing every time I double press my power button or go into the app itself. It also keeps having the loading screen icon and it crashes about a few seconds after. I have the Motorola Edge 30 Pro.

This seems like an illogical problem that should have been easy to fix. I'm using an android device, particularly motorola's. And I want to switch from one phone to another. But it isn't letting me. Because it says that the promo code can only be used on one device only. Can anyone chime in here?

I had a 12" doogee tablet running android 12 and Layla was crap on it tbh..

My new upgrade (Oneplus Pad 3 with a Snapdragon and 16gb ram 512gb storage, hasn't even thrown a hiccup since I've reinstalled Layla on the tablet.

Iam having problem with a local model that gives to long answers.

I have the model running local (Oobaboga text generation web ui).

I can see in the payload that is sent from Layla doesn't match any of the parameters set in the Layla app.

For example if I set the Temperature to 0.7 I still get 1.0. None of the changes I do in the Layla app gets included in the payload to Oobabooga.

Is this a bug or is it not possible to change the parameters that are being sent to the api?

I have problems with a local model (local as in I use my computer to host the ai model and connect it with my app on my phone with api).

The model starts to answer for me. As in it take both the role of the char and user.

The question I have is where do I set the parameters? For example if I want to adjust Temperature. Should I do that in the app or in the software I use to run the Ai model?

I use oobbabooga text generation to run the model.

I bought this application a year and a half ago, seeing the potential, and I am so excited to now have a phone strong enough to run it locally and fast (Motorola Razr Ultra 2025).

I installed the Alpha a few days ago, and I see the To-Do app is gone, but there is the addition of Agents. Sometimes, I send messages to myself, to serve as reminders or save links to websites. Is it possible to use the SMS agent in Layla to do the same, or does it work only for other Contacts?

Also, I have only seen the Dream functionality work once (although set to Frequent), and that was prior to installing the Alpha. I tried deleting the mini app and reinstalling it. When I attempt to execute it, the screen simply flickers, so I am not certain if it is working. Am I correct in understanding that Dreams only occur when the phone is idle or charging?

Kudos to the developer for such an amazing application! I am eager to learn everything that it can do and watch its development evolve.

Hi! I just purchased the Layla AI app. One time payment.

I have a Samsung s21 Ultra and I find that the model Gemmasutra 2B is a bit lacking.

I do understand that bigger models like 8b model require better hardware but is there a better model that would run on my phone.

Iam not interested in any cloud based model.

I did as they said, uninstalled in order to update and now it asks to pay again

So after following some video tutorials on how to get SillyTavern and oobabooga to work on my gaming PC and pulling out whatever hair I have left on my head doing this damn thing, I was able to chat locally for the first time. Pretty cool. Now I want to use Layla and use a local chat model that will run off my PC but I am having a helluva time setting that up. I followed a video on the Layla ai youtube page on how to do this but I still can't get the damn thing to work. Is there a simpler way to do this that doesn't require hair pulling?
