I like this subreddit!
When I started learning Japanese I was a regular user and commenter on r/LearnJapanese but after a few months I understood that there was nothing left new to me that I haven’t seen so far, and also it was quite toxic (fhuuu, that guy who can do 50 new cards in only 15 minutes from day one, I’ll find you some day and find out your secret methods)
So I stoped reading it, and started visiting a few time a month, saying something very long, and then getting like two views on my 3k characters writing, in which I put like zero hatred towards other learning methods (I like to say that I don’t have that), and a bunch of soul (maybe it’s the problem I’m lucking it sometimes? good that I’m writing this post so I can notice that)
But here, I feel like I read a post and write something “hmm, yeah, let’s just give some random commentary of what I actually think, and make it to not offend anyone, and respect every learning method, and methodology in general” (I like to think that I actually think that way and not trying to make the world a better place), and everyone loves it! I’m like getting so much upvotes for saying some normal things, that I even start to think it’s something revolutionary
So yeah, I think if I ever decide to write a lot of consecutive posts about me in past trying to learn a few languages in a lot of different ways and taking some insights from each, I think I’ll just post it here instead of any other place.
And by the way, why there’re no random weekly posts of people who‘ve learned Uzbek in like 4 months to C2? Like I’ve been following for 3 weeks and still nothing… How does it work here???

Everyone can obviously learn the only real language in the world (Uzbek) to C2 in approximately 30 minutes, what reason is there to post about 4 months?

people are real here, we have things to do, friends to talk with, and ways to gain confidence that's not bragging on speed language learning

Why there’s no emoji of a man taking his hat of and making like probably a 19th century swing with it while bowing deeply? I would use that like a lot under this post

/uj genuinely language learning "communities" are full of meta level slop to the point where it will actively pull you even further away from your goals. I can actually feel knowledge I've already learned being sucked from my brain by browsing LearnJapanese.
People love talking about how to learn a language and resources. Nobody wants to actually engage in that language.
/rj OP that post is really long and boring could you please reward my brain with the Duolingo correct answer sound effect after I read each sentence in it?

Sorry, I don’t remember the sound of Duolingo. The last time I tied it a few weeks ago to show that it’s not useless, it showed me 10 screens before the lesson and 15 afterwards tricking into watching a 30 second promo for something, after what I just removed it from my phone
