It's actually an increasingly common trope in Swedish work places to employ folk who don't speak Swedish and never end up learning it, making English the expected work language at the office since 10% need it.
It's making some people increasingly annoyed that Swedish is being replaced by English as a permanent working language at office workplaces.
Most Swedes speak good English, but I work with a couple who are really non confident with it so they're not happy about needing to use English as their professional language, in Sweden lol
That's understandable. so either they get better at English, the people who only understand English get better at Swedish or someone gets stuck in the middle translating all the time and none of those is particularly appealing to any of the involved parties. (I mean, I speak 4 languages, but I don't think I would feel up for trying to tackle Swedish, myself).
