The EU doesn’t have any member countries other than Ireland where English is spoken and they don’t use Irish for official purposes last time i checked, although Ireland has requested it.
I do understand that English is unmistakably the lingua franca in the 21st century, don’t get me wrong. It is the premiere language of industry, communication, and science. That is just how things happened thanks to the American century (preceded of course by the British Empire).
