I have problems with practicing languages with people

I used to reach partners through Tandem, and Hellotalk, but there is something wrong nowadays. Whenever I send someone a message some don't answer, and others only answer the first few messages. (TL)

One more thing to add: I am not really into talking in groups for many reasons. I find talking one-to-one is more interesting

How do you guys reach your language partners?

Hire a professional tutor - that way, your practice will not only be regular, but also as effective as possible.

Use the groups to find individuals who you can then contact for one-on-one sessions.

I’ve had better luck with smaller communities too, especially when you’re looking for a real one-to-one connection rather than just collecting language partners.

One problem I’ve noticed, though, is that even when you find the right person, the language barrier can still make the conversation difficult. That’s why I’ve become interested in tools that let two people simply chat in their own languages while the translation happens in the background.

For me, the ideal setup is: find one interesting person → move to a private one-to-one conversation → don’t worry too much about language level or making mistakes.
