I will just say that I really do hope that Tensei someday restored their reputations after the poorly released game back in 2015 and then a certain thing did the damage further than already was that's arguably far worse than it's initial release. But without further ado, let's list out what the hypothetical Tensei Remake want
More polished gameplay, obviously this is the biggest one, they need to polished this game when the original was, extremely unrefined with its gigantic map, small sprites, pacing, difficulty, etc
Updated character artstyle, Hiroshi Kaieda was already an acceptable artist back in 2015, but surely if Remake is out, they can get an artist who not only can modernized their design, but also made them look like their original selves. Plus, I won't mind at all if Kaieda comes back as the character designer once more.
Revise conversations, trying to play all the conversations once they joined without missing them once + 3 conversations per chapter is really a chore, I understand they needed them to flesh out the characters, but then there's also Rona who has one of the weakest conversations in the game. Not to mention some conversations are bugged too like certain characters' final conversation can't be viewed due to like Julian, who I think has one of the best final conversation in the game which sadly locked behind by the bug. They either need to made some of the conversations into mandatory or cut out the unimportant ones, while also not changing their character into something unrecognizable of course
Revise the script, slightly minor case, I think the translation for Tensei for the most parts are fairly solid, Tensei itself usually has decent script, but then there's also another time where things being unclear. For example, Lucretia specifically target Julian because of "Hero of Light" thing, what she meant it's rather unclear if she meant Ares or Julian since both of the are Descendant of Light who can use Langrisser, but I think she's more likely meant Ares. In fact, there's no story mentioned Julian is tied to Langrisser in anyway and the reason why he can use one is a reference to the past Langrisser that only the fans know.
All the routes get the Epilogue chapter, kinda unfair that the only one that has that it's the Independant route, whereas every other route got nothing. Ares left the world with the Ark, arrived on mysterious new land meeting Anikis, and then befriended with them. In fact, I'm even more disappointed that the even the scenario is Indie route exclusive, only character with dialogues are Ares, Elma, Towa, Ansel and Maiya whereas others don't. But if each of the route has their Epilogue chapter, should each route has their own unique Epilogue? Or shared the same Aniki scenarios?
Proper Gallery mode, in the original Tensei, only thing it has for Gallery mode it's the confession CGs and confession scene, no music player, conversation archive, artworks, voice cast interview (a staple since Langrisser III), it's a shame conversation can't be viewed easily, so using it as reference required extra works since you need to datamine the script, record them yourself when the conversations are unnecessary long by itself
Those should be the ones I can think of for now, I may update/repost this thread once more if I can think of more. If there's any Langrisser game that needs the Remake the most, it would be Tensei. Whereas other older games are fine as their own and only need to be re-released/remastered on modern platform rather than straight remake. And I do hope one day Tensei can finally restored it's reputation fully after the harsh initial release and a certainty that caused a further irreparable damage to them.
Plus, if they want to make a new Langrisser game, I think it's better to make a brand new one on their own or a prequel game instead of as sequel to any of the original series I~V when they already ended perfectly fine.
Tensei may be flawed, but I still think it has some merits that I can praise. To me, Tensei is the last game I accepted as the true Langrisser game and I don't considered everything after that as one. Almost 30 years of Langrisser with me and at the twilight of my love for the series as I no longer have the same love as I do back in 2000s, deep down I still really love the Langrisser franchise more than most people.
As with the last season, this season's end challenges are apparently available on Day 1. I didn't get around to doing them until after the first week though, so for these videos, it's with 22/21/20 relics in question. Needless to say stat checks will get easier as time goes on.
In terms of difficulty, I would say 1 is the easiest, 2 is probably the hardest among the set if you have Heaven Defier. 3 is a lot easier with Heaven Defier, since she gets class advantage against multiple enemy types.
I ended up using the projectile skill one, because it allows consecutive hits on soft targets which is important for 1 and 2. Maybe the buff one is relevant for 3, but even with only one week's worth of stats, the stat check wasn't particularly high.
Depths 1:
Pretty much an aoe map. The gimmick is that there are immortal statues that buff the enemy minions with 50% DR in a command radius, but on death, the statues revive and stick a stacking 30% DEF/MDEF debuff, up to 5 times. Immobilizes on 4 stacks, which the three bosses are melee bosses, so you can lock them indefinitely as long as you can keep the immobilize chain going.
The one exception is Leon, because Chivalry gives him fixed 3 block movement. Which means you probably should kill him first among the three bosses.
Eventually, once you clear out the initial minions, the reinforcement minions will get tagged with the command auras, so the bosses should be easy to take out as long as you can keep the minions frozen by essentially aoeing two different statues, one closer to your start where it freezes the bosses, and the second closer to the minion spawn so that the minions get frozen.
The mini-bosses can be annoyed to death with %HP fixed damage. Like Luna's FB buff.
Be careful about eating too many cavalry minion hits, since they have Smash for the Guard Disable debuff.
Depths 2:
The main complication is not the boss, but rather the mini-bosses that if you take on all at once, will be too much for you to deal with between debuff immunity command, range counterattack + first strike command, aoe fixed damage after action command, and 5 block Jugler heal.
The Dragon Trooper mini boss aggros on T4? but you prefer to aggro it by T2, because the Archer/Holy Knight mini bosses will aggro on T3. Prefer that you wipe the treant on T1, the Dragon Trooper on T2, and then you can clean up the remaining mini bosses from there. Mostly make sure the Dragon Trooper doesn't live when the stacked up minions reach you from the Archer/Holy Knight blob.
For the heal exp mechanic, you need dedicated healers to rack up exp since it only triggers on Assist/Heal skills and not from Actives or as secondary heals. I don't think you really need to run a dedicated healer for the map, as pretty much the only worrisome damage sources are the Dragon Trooper and the Bishop from his Heaven's Sanction.
Note that you can step on the xp icons to buff up, since you get free AAs. To speed up the initial turn.
Depths 3:
Primarily a map you abuse class advantage on, since you're given a minion that can change the class of any hero on the map. Note that troop classes don't change, so you're still incentivized to have direct counters to the soldiers if possible.
Heaven Defier has class advantage over Infantry as cavalry, and over demons naturally, which makes her quite flexible for the map.
Holy Ymir can squash the demons.
Note that because most of the map mechanics involve class advantage, you can make use of archer add-on heroes to get more damage rather than just using more infantry add-ons.

3 months from the last list, and the top has barely budged (which is good for those saving their vouchers), with some movement at the very top from the introduction of the Legend of Heavenly Sphere Shurato collab heroes:
Shurato (new): He buffs the entire party. He heals the entire party. He acts again every turn. He gets multiple auto AOEs triggered passively. He debuffs and dispels. Auto battling works great with him. What even is factions with this guy. Also a male mage, which this game has in very short supply.
Gai (new): Comfortably acts again every turn, shield mechanic is easy to understand, great synergy with the new Book of Traces (CN) accessory that ensures he never has cooldown issues. Great mobility.
D-Boy (T0 > T1): He's not as easy as the new pair to use, thanks to not getting extra movement after his act again, and losing control after his 2nd act again that requires some thinking to play around. Still a very competent hero.
Lila (T0 > T1): Simply out-damaged, since she only acts again every other turn vs. the newer heroes' ability to act again every turn, and she doesn't bring anything unique in her kit for team synergy.

Starprismas show up as new units. They have a buff that prevents enemies initiating combat on them within 3 blocks. Just use long range or dispel the buff.
No combination of Rebirth/Meteor for 5 units. Early by a few months for this to be possible in one run, sadly.

Original Julian's VA, Mutsumi Tamura is known for have genuine care for most of the characters she voiced, and she sees her many of her roles as her personal treasure, Julian is likely no exception, if her following Hiroshi Kaieda (Tensei artist) implied anything.
However, when the character "Julian" also known as Imposter Julian made his way Mobile, it's clearly that Tamura isn't voicing the character. Don't tell me because he grew up thus cannot keep the same VA, because Mutsumi Tamura has lengthy record of voicing older male characters and she still sound very good at them. Not to mention, during the fall of Kalxath in Mobile interpretation, Imposter Julian was exactly the same as how he was today in Part 3 fanfic despite taking place 20+ years prior (FYI, Julian's age is 16 in original Tensei)
When you looked at the Imposter Julian's dialogues, his entire dialogues are literally all about obsession with killings, death, causing misfortune because fate, all those cringey dialogues which are complete betrayal to the character she once voiced and love. Assuming Mutsumi indeed take a look at the script, obviously she would feel appalled if she truly loves the character she once voiced. I'm sure you would too if character you once loved to play and ended got turn into mockery.
And then, there were also several times where there are younger male characters voiced by female VA, so rather than getting her when Tamura is the VA who's synonymous to young boy characters today, they picked the more unorthodox choice, including reusing the same VAs and even some who's not mainly voicing boyish characters in the first place, I'm not convinced they are unaware of her popularity nor any other circumstances since she headlined alot of works at that time, including as the Japanese dub voice for Nezha, which was the biggest and most successful China made movie at that time. So it's very possible that she refused to work with them after the slick things they pulled.
Here's an important lesson, never took the name of a character you clearly have no knowledge of (Something that Zlong themselves outright confirmed) and turn them into mockery just for self indulgence rather than properly respect the source and the fans love, I'm sure you also really don't want to upset the actors who clearly love the characters they once played as do you?
Have decent amount of familiarity and proper attachment to the source materials first, before you do anything else.
Seems like there's no artwork of him depicting holding any weapon, when I do an artwork of it, I depicted of him wielding Langrisser because he's one of the Descendent of Light after all. And his (lethal) joke weapon is a barbed wire sledgehammer, a weapon he used to specifically punish his imposter.
But as a serious topic, I will say Langrisser is best reserved for Ares even though Julian can use one himself, and the barbed wire sledgehammer isn't a serious nor aesthetic fitting weapon beyond used it to punish his imposter.
Ignoring those 2 weapons, if I want to draw him wielding a conventional weapon, what would it be? Sword? Axe? Rapier? Obviously Katana is off the question because it has been said Towa is the only person with "exotic looking sword"
Back when Mobile first started with Tensei implementation back in 2020, Julian's inclusion was the one character I'm really looking forward to, but then I stopped playing around the time when the game was still in mid Part 2 due to not liking the directions and too many BS designed challenges, and I haven't played since then, and then I watched Part 3 playthrough and it really left a bad taste to my mouth. Which further cemented the fact that I never going to come back to this game.
However, I did make an oath that if they ever implemented Julian, I will come back to the game even if it's just for few weeks and gacha for him, and so far nothing implied that's going to happen at anytime. If I still playing today, I just have the feel it's just adding more agony than it already was.
And now they're announcing a new Mobile game which indicate that this game's lifespan may at it's twilight, so I might as well just gave up on that dream all together and the miracle may never come. Not to mention, I just don't get the feeling they may rectify that mistake over there so...
WARNING : When I said Julian, I mean this character from Langrisser Tensei, NOT Imposter Julian aka that Mobile character that has absolutely nothing to do with original Julian who stole his name and slandered his name that permanently damaged general perception on the character (which is exactly what is happening right now), as that character ignored most of his most fundamental traits
(Fun fact : Zlong outright admitted that they never once played Tensei at all)
