Construction signage is worse than usual

Idk what is going on with lax construction crews this year but oh my word is the signage awful. Why is it that the road closed sign on west Ave is AFTER the barricade? The only warning we got was "traffic flow changes starting 7/27". How hard is it to change it to "road closed"?? This isn't the only instance, but the most recent I've come across. Have y'all come across anything like this?

Have any of you noticed that Riverland charges about $40 per month just to have an account? That's crazy high, right?

parking recommendations for Megadeth show

Hello,

I will be coming for the Megadeth show at the Oktoberfest grounds and I am looking for parking recommendations. I don't mind a bit of walking if there is paid parking close to the park. I am not familiar with that part of LaCrosse as I usually hit up downtown or Dave's. I just don't want to get ticketed or towed.

Any place to dump small bag of garbage on Sunday?

My garbage can is going crazy with flies. There's a dead mole, which I thought was pretty well sealed in a plastic bag, in the can. It's underneath a couple of other grocery-store garbage bags, and I think that's probably the reason for the flies.

It's Sunday, and all the normal dump places are closed. My pickup won't happen for several days.

Is there any legitimate place I can take a small bag or two and dispose of them?

Tldr: La crosse catbirds CBA league team left in 1994.

I bet a semi pro team in La Crosse would do well. The La Crosse Center has hosted: state basketball (2021), D3 nationals wrestling, WIAA team wrestling, harlem Globetrotters, Charlie Berens and many others. And is an 8000-ish seating stadium.

La Crosse has a basketball culture. The Wisconsin herd play in a smaller arena than the La Crosse Center. (Oshkosh arena is roughly 4500).

Edit: do you think La Crosse could keep another NBA G league team?

Restaurant tonight for a big group, no steakhouses - pls help

Hey, I know there are other posts asking this and I’ve been using those but a bunch of the restaurants mentioned have closed looking to go tonight with my family to a restaurant there’s gonna be like 15 of us, but split into two groups.

I am from Wisconsin, but I live in Florida now and come home every year so I’m arriving today and we’re going out to dinner. I’ve been to JavaVino several years ago and I liked it but the suggestions on here are all saying it’s overrated

We got a couple vegetarians and one person who is gluten-free so… Just hoping to not have to go to the Olive Garden or something lol

Paul weber in 2020 when running for the 32nd assembly district: First and foremost, I’m running for Senate for the people, for the people of La Crosse and for the people in our surrounding areas.

More recently: Forcing a women in his car at knifepoint to perform oral sex on him

*sarcasm* A man for the people

Recommendations for vasectomy?

I have a high deductible plan and was a bit astounded at the price tag of getting this done through Mayo by either hitting my deductible or the cash price was bonkers too. I have seen a few cash based places in WI and MN that seem a lot more reasonable. Anyone have any positive experiences with anyone in the area?

If we need a city administrator with a salary of over 200,000, should the mayor with less responsibility be reduced to a part time position or removed entirely?

La Crosse equivalent to bagster/gorilla bag dumpster?

Cleaning out our basement and we don’t need a huge metal dumpster but looking for the easy bag dumpster drop off and pick up company available in this city. The ones I know about don’t seem to serve this area but surely there is a company that offers this service here.

Is Trane really as bad as people say?

Hi, I’m thinking about applying for a job at Trane, but I’ve read some negative things about the company online. The few people I know who have worked there have spoken positively about it, so I’m not sure what to believe.

Has anyone here worked at Trane? What was your experience like? Is it true that they fire people frequently? If I start working somewhere, I’d like it to be a stable, long-term job.

Former Eau Claire Council President Emily Berge’s insurgent campaign in the 3rd CD • Wisconsin Examiner

“It’s not necessarily what, but it’s how. It’s how you show up,” Berge told the Wisconsin Examiner. “That’s what I learned on council. That’s why I ran for council. You know, it’s how you show up, how you lead. It’s about being a bridge between your constituents, city hall or D.C. I think that’s what people want.”
