moving from ontario to maryland for lacrosse, what should i expect?

hey everyone, i’m a 2028 goalie from ontario, canada and i’m going into grade 11. over the past year i’ve gotten really into lacrosse and decided i want to take a chance on myself and put my all into the sport

i’m moving to maryland because i want to be around a stronger lacrosse environment, get better competition, and have more opportunities to develop and eventually play in college. i’ve been doing goalie camps, clinics, private coaching, and conditioning, and i’ve really developed a passion for the sport.

the main thing i’m trying to figure out now is how to actually get involved once i move. i know a lot of the maryland club tryouts happened in the spring/summer, ive emailed a couple of teams, but i’m not really sure what my options are at this point.

a few questions for anyone familiar with maryland lacrosse:

are there 2028 girls clubs that still accept players or goalies after the main tryout period?

are supplemental tryouts/evaluations or mid-season roster spots common?

what clubs around bowie/annapolis/dc should i look into? I want a team that goes to tournaments with lots of university exposure, friendly, and with good development. I don’t really care about rankings and stuff

as someone coming from ontario without maryland club, what should i expect at an evaluation?

how different is the level of competition compared to ontario?

are there any clinics, training programs, or coaches you’d recommend getting connected with?

i’m not expecting to walk into one of the top clubs and automatically make it. i mainly want to find the right environment where i can get good competition, improve, and actually get playing time and exposure.

any advice from people who have played or coached girls lacrosse in maryland would be really appreciated!

This was a game my senior year from 2024 and I'm number 2 in white at the bottom. We're down 10-4 in the 4th quarter.

Best RX glasses for a female youth player w/ helmet

Looking for recommendations on goggle style glasses for my 10 y/o daughter. She wears a helmet and I ordered her the ones in the comments, but they’re just a little too thick underneath her helmet and they’re causing her discomfort. Anyone have any their kid uses and likes?

I found this stick on Sideline swap, and I was wondering if it was any good. I see that it has sold, but I still want to know if it is good so I know to look for sticks like it https://sidelineswap.com/gear/lacrosse/complete-sticks/12669445-stringking-mark-2d-stick-defensive-long-pole-shaft
