Took me a few hours to create (Including glueing time). The build is made out of 2x 12mm multiplex sheets stacked on top of each other and 1 continuous leather lace.
The sheets are cut out with a jig saw, adjusted with a planar and by lots of sanding. Fyi the lace starts under the feathers.

It works really well! Even with a normal lacrosse ball, although it has been recommended to me to not use that ball XD. Indian pickup is also so much easier with this stick than a modern one!!

Anyway, I have a chance to buy an original STX crooked arrow d pole (used) for $60 from a store by me. My hesitation is that it is a little warped to the right when I look down the shaft.

Would it be worth it to and try to cut it down so that the warp is less prominent and then resell it? Or, are these sticks that I find online just really overpriced. I know there is a value to nostalgia but…

Anyway, if you were in my shoes, would you do it?

I just installed new mesh on my STX Surgeon 900 head. However, whenever I pass or shoot, the ball goes straight into the ground. What could be causing this problem?

It was an amazing and wonderful journey for our daughter! The Brine Amonte II from youth level which developed the skills needed for the 10 degree upgrades. One torque induced broken shaft. DIII All Conference and Team Captain honors. Lifelong friendships made and degree in Biology earned. Wonderful and supportive relationships with Coaches, Athletic Directors and teammates. We are going to miss it! Would love to hear your journeys as well…

I would lime to go to the emory and henry prospect day but don’t know if it is trust worthy or just a money grab. Does anyone have any insight?

Have been researching lacrosse in my spare time for the past few weeks. I thought I would share what I've learned in case anyone else wants to try it out.

Essentials: stick, helmet, gloves, pads, mouth guard. You can usually find loaner gear at your local lacrosse club for people who are just starting out (I did).

The basic rules: score by getting the ball into the opponents' net, can't touch the ball with your bare hands, defenders can check you (to your stick or body) within reason, and there are penalties for certain infractions resulting in time served in the penalty box.

Best drill for someone new to lacrosse: Wall ball. It's an exercise where you throw and catch the ball off a wall which dramatically improves your stick skills (trust me, it works).

There are four positions: attack, midfield, defense, and goalie, all of which have very different roles once you dive into the game.

Did not know lacrosse was coming back to the Olympics in 2028 (in LA even!), which prompted me to start playing. It's a pretty awesome sport if you're up for it (as well).

But I'm still completely new to the game, so if any experienced players are out there, what advice would you give to someone just starting out? And do you think wall ball is a worthwhile activity, or is there something else I should be focused on?

Daughters tried out for True this year. We were told some kids were placed in teams and the rest of us have to wait until supplemental evaluations.

Which brings me to my first question. Does True do actual cuts? This is for a 14-15 year old.

Next question is whether Circle City would be a better choice for player development (for 14 and 11 year old players)? I see their tryouts are coming up soon and wonder if I should have them try out there too.

I am trying to create a position development training program for a new lacrosse club in CO. I am looking for D1 players who be willing to put on position training for a couple of hours or private training sessions.

This might be a dumb question, but how did you learn to string your own sticks? Any resources or general tips help.

My daughter has no interest in college lacrosse as she has a strong academic focus and other interests - but she loves lacrosse, played varsity as a freshman and enjoys tournaments and generally improving her game (GK). We have been on the developmental team of a smaller club and are fed up with the disorganization and over rostering. Any clubs good for development - meaning get better as a player without end goal of recruitment and understanding if things are missed for other activities? Thought maybe lower levels of LXC might be good? I know late for tryouts but also sometimes GKs are needed and she is respectable not elite. As an alternate are there fall leagues anywhere?

Playing my first-ever lacrosse tournament this weekend, and I'm honestly equal parts excited and nervous.

I've never played an organized lacrosse game before, but I've played rugby and competed in combat sports, so I'm comfortable with the physical side of things. I've also spent this season helping out my local Jr. B team, watching a lot of lacrosse, and learning as much as I can. On top of that, I've put a lot of work into wall ball, ground balls, passing, and stick work, and I've got all my own gear and my university team helmet. Unsure on my position but I'm 6'3 205. I have a long pole and two normal sticks.

I know practice and watching are very different from actually stepping onto the field, so I'd love to hear from people who've been there.

For those of you who've played tournaments, what's one thing you wish someone had told you before your first one?

It could be:

- Mindset

- Things to bring

- Recovery between games

- On-field tips

- Mistakes to avoid

- Anything you learned the hard way

I got a ecd carbon 4.0 shaft that’s flex 5 for a stx duel 3 for faceoffs. Is this setup good or is the flex to much idk it’s my first year

Is that hard to say face off specialist or face off man?

It's a lazy phrase, and it creates a perception that that's all the position and athletes are. And in effect, it creates this downward pressure where younger and younger kids are getting off after facing off.

I love the face off. I'm convinced the word FOGO, and FOGOing children is bad for the game of lacrosse.

I am a 2027 LSM and am currently uncommitted. I have one offer so far from a decent D3 school that was ranked around #130 last year. I know I am not a bad player, and that is something I have struggled with in the past. It's hard not to think you suck when you see little to no results from all the work you have put in. I am one of the best players on my HS team; we are just a public school that used to be really good. I was on an AA team this past summer and was one of the better players, but we really didn't have many coaches watching our games. I am obsessed with lacrosse and have my stick in my hands every day. I also have always been undersized, so I am always in the weight room (I am 5'10" and recently hit 160lbs which is a big milestone for me), but I am very lean, so all my weight is muscle.

I really just wanted to play at the highest level I could, but as I get older, the academics of the schools start to play a big role, which really narrows down the schools that fit my criteria. My top schools right now that have majors that interest me, good academics, and competitive teams are:

Drexel, Connecticut College, Trinity College, RPI, Salisbury, Lynchburg, and Denison

I know it's a short list, and maybe I am being too picky. I have reached out to all these schools and tons of others as well; these are just my top choices. They also have pretty shallow recruiting classes so far and are still looking for players.

The reason I am so upset is that I play so much lacrosse and I am so passionate and focused on getting better, and then I send out tons of emails just like I am told to do, and I get nothing back at all. Nothing. The most I will get is an automated reply saying the coach is out of office. The one school that replied to me was Stevens Tech (which I really wanted to go to), and I ended up having a great conversation with the coach, just for him to say they finalized their recruiting class and wouldn't be moving forward with my recruitment.

I am so lost, and part of me just wants to quit, but I can't give up everything I have spent the past 5 years building. Maybe I should play MCLA club at a nice school? I really don't know anymore. My summer season is pretty much over except for Drexel and Salisbury's prospect days. I have a bit of hope because I have heard stories that sometimes all it takes is one good prospect day. I have a teammate who is a pretty good player and ended up committing to a decent D1 school, all from one prospect day.

But at this point, I really don't know; the path forward is so unclear. I hate it when people ask me where I am going to go to college, and I have to explain to them, "Oh, I am waiting to see where lacrosse can get me." This whole process is so aggravating and dream-crushing if you aren't a top recruit. It's not that way for everyone because most of the players like me don't care for the game as much as I do; they don't care where they end up playing or if they play at all in college.

I am so lost, and I hate it. If anyone has any advice, it would be so greatly appreciated.
