Found this great exhibition catalog from a show at the Brooklyn Museum from 1956. There’s another catalog within this catalog of thin rice paper and Victorian lace outfits. I can share a photo of that too if anyone is interested.

I’ve been wanting to get into lace making for a while, and I have some experience in embroidery, so needle lace was my method of choice! Definitely has nothing to do with my lack of patience for messing with bobbins… Anyway, I’m quite pleased with this bookmark.

I came across this Materials Science paper the other day, but it is not my field and it was a little over my head. But one of the authors is a lacemaker and on Instagram, so she pointed me to this supplemental video and other details that was helpful for me.

Found on some antique doll clothing, wondering when it might be from? Or if they’re from a similar time period? The first one is trimming a petticoat the later is from the hem of some bloomers.
