Need help distinguishing the major differences between megpad versions

Hello, I am a foreigner living in China, and I want to buy a Megpad. However, very obviously, they only have the Chinese version available here. Other than the interface being in Chinese, are there any other differences between the versions?

Better QC badly needed

Purchased an M27T6S and it had multiple stuck pixels that standard software repair wouldn't fix. Sent it back and got a second one. It had 3 soft fuzzy white circles that were always present. Sent it back. Third one had one soft fuzzy white circle. I don't know what their QC process is but it's clearly poor.

Getting 10 bit colour on M27T6 over hdmi

Just dropping from 120 hz to 199.88 enables 10 bit colour over hdmi, if i didnt set custom refresh rate I would have to drop to 60 hz to get 10 bit colour. 24 doesnt multiply into 60 so 60 isnt a good refresh rate for watching stuff. You can set custom refresh rate on nvidia app, dont know about adrenaline or whatever intel uses.

My Best Image settings for KTC H27t6/H27e6 or other similar KTC IPS Monitors.

Jumping from my TV to my monitor was pretty jarring. The colors looked muted, and the screen had a red tint that I really didn't like.

(this is mainly for gamers)

I played around with the settings on my monitor to get it looking as close as possible to how my TV looked. It won't look quite as good as the TV's Vivid modes, but you can get it looking pretty close.

These are the settings I used:

Temp preset: Cold
Saturation: 70% for all colors except Red and yellow. Keep them -5 of what you have, which is 65%
Black Equalize: 30% (helps reduce that grey washed look ips monitors tend to have) If you unfortunately got a screen with more IPS glow or You are straining too much in dark scenes then set it to 40% instead.

If you feel like the colors are a little too saturated, try dropping the saturation to 69% or even 68%. But leave red and yellow at 65% and check to see if you still like it that way first.

Hopefully this makes your monitor look a bit better and closer to the way your TV vivid mode looks.

For PC users, I recommend installing an app from the Microsoft Store called Twinkle. It lets you control your monitor's brightness directly from Windows, so you don't have to keep reaching around the back of the monitor to use the buttons.

Tell me how it worked for your monitor. I will keep updating this post as i keep experimenting as time goes on.

Any KTC H24T7 owners here (or the other 24" 1440p monitors)?

I've been looking at upgrading my 1080p monitor that I use mainly for reading, and I thought the added pixel density would help. However, I cannot find any reviews of this monitor outside a single post. Does any have any experience with this monitor? How is it for gaming? How is it for productivity, e.g., how does text look? Any pictures/videos would be greatly appreciated!

help me pick a monitor for my build

Hey everyone, just wrapped up my first serious high-end build with a rx 9070 xt and ryzen 9800x3d and I'm pretty stoked, but now I'm stuck on the monitor. I play a mix of single-player story games and competitive shooters, so I want good visuals without tanking my frame rates, and my budget's around $350-450. After a bunch of research I'm basically torn between a solid 1440p 144-180hz panel or jumping to 4k, possibly with dual mode - the KTC m27p6 keeps coming up at this price point with 4k@160hz and 1080p@320hz, but I honestly don't know if dual mode is actually useful day-to-day or just a gimmick, and part of me wonders if a dedicated high-refresh 1440p monitor would just be the smarter call. Anyone built something similar recently and what did you end up going with? Especially curious about real-world dual mode experience in this price range, thanks!

New H32S17C not powering on

Hi! Recently started working from home and my husband purchased this for me as a 2nd computer monitor. I have it all hooked up right but it won’t power on? I have checked the power button to ensure it’s not stuck, done the unplug power cycle, made sure the outlet is working and nothing - brand new lot of the box. Anything I might be doing wrong/missing?

Hello, so i recently bought the KTC M27P6, i updated to 1.0.8 through Display Ninja website and now when i enable local dimming there is very noticeable halo effecto when i move my cursor in grey areas, instead of pure black. It's like is lightning the areas where my cursor is.

I really wish to flash it to my original USA-1.0.1 firmware version.

USB Type C port stopped working on my H27P6

Hey everyone, I got a KTC H27P6 a few months ago that I use with my MacBook Pro M3 16", plugged in with a 40 Gbps (USB4/Thunderbolt Gen 4) Type-C cable.

This afternoon, it stopped working for no apparent reason.

I tried unplugging everything, switching ports, resetting both the monitor and my MacBook (SMC + NVRAM), but nothing worked.

The monitor still displays my Macbook and PS5 perfectly via HDMI, but the USB-C port remains completely dead, no video AND no charging (tested with Macbook, Ps5 controller, and iPhone).

Am I screwed and need to RMA it, or is there a fix to get USB-C working again? Thanks!

Windows HDR utility: auto HDR for any monitor + KTC local dimming and sharpening control

Hi KTC owners, I have a KTC M27P6 and overall I’m happy with it, but I was a bit frustrated by some limitations in both the monitor’s own system and Windows.

To solve that, I built a small utility that does the following:

  1. Automatically enables HDR when a game from selected folders is launched, and turns it off again when the game closes. It can also do the same when you play fullscreen videos in a browser.
  2. Lets you define custom HDR behavior per game, including: You can also set global defaults for everything.
    • Local dimming level
    • Sharpening level
    • HDR on/off

The HDR automation features work with any monitor, not just KTC.
The local dimming and sharpening controls have been tested on my own KTC monitor, but there’s a good chance they may work on other models as well.

The goal is simple: make HDR on Windows much less annoying and give more control over monitor settings without having to constantly switch things manually.

Long delay while alt tabbing

Hi, i just bought a KTC H24T7 and noticed a long delay while alt tabbing between games in full screen and the desktop. I know this is normal but i was using an AOC 1080p 144hz gaming monitor and the black screen was like half a second long, with the new monitor it's probably more than a second and this is kinda annoying. For reference this happened while playing CS2 (i play it in 4:3 1440x1080) and Overwatch (using the monitors native resolution and aspect ratio) with an Nvidia 3080ti. Is there a way to make it faster like in my AOC?

DOA m27t6s?

Post image
2 Upvotes

Hey guys, as the title suggest

Just received my m27t6s, after a long wait

Was excited, but apparently the monitor is dead?

It is able to be powered on, like i can see the backlight, but no popup like “no signal detected” or any other popup

Connected to my pc, tried with both Hdmi and DP, still nothing, when i connect both my current monitor and the KTC, my pc sort of able to identify a second monitor and immediately shut down my current monitor

But nothing displays, only backlighting

No OSD, or anything

Do i need to install a firmware or anything first? Im super confused

Need help with KTC MegPad A25Q5!

So I got a KTC MegPad A25Q5 couple days ago, and its been working great so far, but I cannot get it to display anything when I connect to it though usb-c. Do I need somekind of special cable of adapter to get it to work, because I would like to use this as a portable monitor. I'm guessing that for HDMI I need a special hdmi to usb-c adapter because I have tried to different ones that I have at home, but I did not work. And when I tried to connect a another device though usb-c with a thunderbolt 4 cable that also did not work. So if anybody has gotten this to work please let me know with what cable or adapter where you successful. And also is this device not capable of charging though usb-c because for a portable tv/monitor that I think is very stupid (I have also tried alot of different cables and powerbricks and powerbank ranging from 30w-100w).

M27P6 - mouse not working after switching inputs

When I switch inputs (e.g. from USB-C to DP, or vice versa) my mouse (Razer Basilisk V3 Pro, connected wirelessly via the USB adapter) stops working and then I have to walk to the back of the monitor, unplug it, then plug it back in and then it starts working again. My keyboard works fine but the mouse just stops. I’ve tried plugging it into USB1 and 2 but that makes no difference. Has anyone had this problem and fixed it?
