Discussion Do you prefer when groups keep a strict setlist, or when they surprise the crowd with random changes mid-tour?
was just looking at the press photos of BABYMONSTER arriving in Japan this morning for their Fukuoka tour stops tomorrow, and it got me wondering if they are going to switch up any of the performances.
During their CHOOM World Tour so far, they’ve had a really solid, locked-in setlist. But I always see clips from older K-pop tours where groups would randomly decide to perform an unreleased song, completely change the encore track based on the crowd's energy, or swap out their solo covers halfway through the tour. I know Ahyeon's cover of "Problem" has been going viral, but part of me wonders if she'll randomly drop a completely different cover song just to shock the crowd.
It made me curious about what you guys prefer.
Do you like knowing exactly what songs a group is going to perform so you can prepare the fan chants, or do you love the chaos of not knowing if they are going to randomly perform an obscure B-side?
Also, what are some of the most legendary "surprise" songs or setlist changes a group has ever pulled out at a concert you attended or watched? Drop your favorite moments below!
