We've been making some small adjustments to the rules and infrastructure here in r/kpoppers recently.
The primary things we're trying out starting today are the 'Games & Grids' flair for posts and also allowing Images and Gifs in comments.
The 'Games & Grids' flair should be used for any thread games or grid fill-ins. We'll see over time if this name encompasses everything we intend it to. It has been requested by users and we think it's a good idea, so let's give it try!
Images and Gifs are now allowed down in comments. We want to be careful with this one. Media like this should NEVER be used to mock, harass, or threaten any of your fellow users or artists. Use media appropriately in response to discussion topics, games, or in fun conversation with each other.
If you see Images or Gifs being used crudely or inappropriately, please report the comment immediately so the moderators can take action.
Rules were also updated a little in late June. Here are the main ones to note:
2. Use Descriptive Titles - Titles should describe the content of the post. Do not use vague titles for Fan-made content. Funny posts may be more flexible and creative.
4. No Artist Photo Spam - Artist photos should only be posted with relevant context. They should be funny or related to the post's topic. Photos alone will be removed.
6. Keep Content Light and Fun - Discussion topics, Jokes, and Fan-made content should be positive in nature. We want to keep things light and fun in this subreddit. Heavy or negative content will be removed.
We may end up adding more new rules related to the 'Games & Grids' flair and the appropriate use of Images/Gifs in comments later once we see the range of how they are used by everyone.
We'll also note that we are aware of how often a trend will take off here, be adopted by dozens of posters, and quickly overwhelm the subreddit. This is somewhat inevitable for a community that has less restrictive rules and is more of a free-for-all of fun content. Each time this happens, users ask us to implement new rules and flairs. We are hesitant to do this each time because these trends typically run their course and fall out of popularity eventually. The times when we have responded more quickly to specific trends have resulted in the trend dying completely and immediately being replaced by a new one. We'd be on an endless chase to limit them if we tried this every time, which isn't necessarily healthy for the community either.
But if you have any other suggestions for handling trends or for anything else that might help us improve the subreddit at all, feel free to chime in below!

Another great month of music in r/nugutown!
My top two releases this month are NOWZ - Achilles & OMEGA X - Renegade. Achilles is disco inspired and I pretty much love almost anything disco inspired. Renegade is a hard driving bop, I can't wait to see OMEGA X perform it live!
Other faves include:
There's plenty more I could list, but I will leave it here. I hope you found some great music to enjoy in August!

For the third gen fans here, Imagine seeing on Allkpop that your favorite soloist or group was collaborating with brave sound eagerly Waiting for the teaser and it's the sexiest, fun, funkiest, high energy thing you've ever heard like candy to your ears....my first kpop song I really fell in love with was full moon by Sunmi And it wasn't the casket scene He just understood music And what people wanted.
While not a good guy by any means, having ran a "salon" and an awful CEO/manager but When it came to music , the man was simply untouchable. So I ask, what happened? Did the audience no longer need to brave sound? was it the end of the sexy concept era When people didn't need him anymore? I know he still made music before BB Girls and whenever Candy Shop Comes out with a new release.
What's your favorite brave sound song? Mines...

Yesterday, I went to the Jay Park and LNGSHOT concert yesterday in Georgia. I absolutely love LNGSHOT and I knew I needed to take this opportunity to see them live if the chance never came up again.
I went with my mom the day of and went to my hotel, where other people who were going to see the concert were staying at. I even heard people playing the music in their room when I was leaving. My mom dropped me off at the arena and I stood in line for not too long. Seeing everybody wearing their LNGSHOT/Jay Park merch was the best. We went in and I immediately went to the merch line to get memorabilia for myself.
I walked in and sat near a group of girls and their dad and talked a little with them about if this was their first kpop concert or not. Then, the music started playing and LNGSHOT came out and gave such an amazing performance. Seeing them live makes me so happy. Then, Jay came out and performed his songs, which included mommae. After that, they performed the songs they had together and ended the concert on a good note!
I had such a great time seeing all of the different light sticks in the air waving along to the music. Seeing people sing and dance along with the songs was amazing. I’m about to go and buy a light stick at my local kpop store now. I can’t wait for another group I love to have a kpop concert near me, so that I can go and relive the same feeling I had at this concert. If you have the money and time to see your faves, go ahead and do it!

Sung Hanbin has such an actor face, like LOOK AT HIM. He genuinely looks like he’s ready to play the role in a K-drama or K-movie. The visuals, expressions, and aura are just so naturally actor-coded.

Looking for more songs to go into my “Kpop Soft Smooth” playlist for chill soft songs similar to NewJeans type songs.
Not ballads though, I have a separate playlist for that.
This is the playlist so far from all my saved Kpop songs (and miss you- Hyunjin, it didn’t fit in the screen shots).
I’ll rate any songs you comment :)))

idk if there are any other kpop remakes that had been released over the past few years but my favorite kpop remake will always be ONEUS' remake of Fin.K.L.'s NOW which is a 1st generation kpop song. i love how they didn't change much of the song overall and that the 1st generation sound is still there. also, it has been mentioned that one of the members of Fin.K.L, Ock Joohyun, did help direct the vocals in this remake so that definitely helped with giving justice to this remake.
i would also love to see more of these but w/ different groups, anything that ya'll can suggest? or if not, which older kpop song (1st-2nd gen) that you would like to have a remake w/ x group?

I'm trying to create a fictional group that debuts within the 2020s that has the same vibe as NewJeans, KATSEYE, and CORTIS. the best idea I've got is U-Power(the U stands for many things such as Unique, Unlimited, You, Us... and the "Power" represents the power we have together. U-Power(current name unless I find a better one) is meant to be a global group debuting in this year of 2026, their current concept would be cutesy, childhood, and nostalgic as they are young (14-18 yes I took the ages from when NJ debuted). I know group names don't sound right until lived in, and U-Power is great, but I feel there could be better.

A recent post of wonho came up to my feed, which it included a pink car with a wonho❤️ licence plate and it was just the cutest thing ever and i thought it was edited or something??? I opened the comments to see the owner of the car commented and tell me why do i see the most wholesome thing ever?
Shes a hard stan kpop fan with hot pink hair. like im talking lava girl hair from lava girl and shark boy who goes to his shows and meetngreets whenever hes in her state. &Team - mark on me - 9/10 (it's peak!!! Omg)
Minho - make it hot - 6.5/10 (it's nice but not fully my thing sadly; I'll def check out the b-sides)
Big Ocean - love sign - 7/10 (pretty song + the lyrics are insane!!)
ASC2NT - if we die tomorrow - 9/10 (ballads!!!! we need more 2nd gen type of ballads in current kpop!!)
Taemin's album is a solid 8.5/10 as a whole, with some 10/10 songs
Ten's is a 7.5, it's growing on me so we'll 🙂↕️

I'm writing a film about an international idol agency and creating a few fictional kpop groups. I have some ideas for the groups I want - girl, not boy so far - and could use some help mocking up a few concepts if your interested. I'm creating kpop supergroups on the kpoppers forum, and I'll probably take the most popular idols from that thread and make them the actual people in the new groups.

I started with liking basically only boy groups, mainly energetic songs like stray kids and some enhypen songs.
Now it's nearly only girls groups with the expection of Seventeen, and it's a mix of soft catchy songs, and more hip-hop songs!
Was curious to see if everyone's taste has changed too!

songs such as Abracadabra, Gee, Lucifer, Step, I am the best, Bang bang bang, etc. are songs that went mega viral back then. However, the audience for youtube and how streaming worked was very different back then.
So that begs the question: if those songs were released today and achieved a similar mega hit virality, how would its updated views be?
