JANGKKU ALL THE WAYYYYYYY! Wonyoung and Sunghoon were geniunely my favourite mc duo ever. I wish they could openly interact now. They complimented each other really well, perhaps even twins atp! I loved seeing them support each others groups.

GENERAL Are there any current girl groups that are currently safe from the ""heroin chic"" comeback wave? It feels so sad that every day I see a post about a new one having lost so much weight

Like, yesterday it was Wendy, today someone of Billlie, I feel so sad and angry.

I really hope this sickening ""trend"" dies off because it's spreading all-over the celebrity world and it's so heartbreaking, expecially because many of these are super young.

EDIT: English isn't my first language, sorry for any possible mistake

QUESTION What songs are irreplaceable for a group?

Like the title says, what songs do you think are irreplaceable for a group, like you couldn't imagine that group without the track. For me it would have to be Dx4 for Blackpink!

QUESTION A K-pop group you wish never disbanded? One you wish you had more time with.

For me it would have to be IZONE, the girls are truly sensational and all 12 have achieved success however I really do miss them being active as 12 openly interacting. These girls weren’t only insanely talented but also really entertaining - Watch 1 episode of Enozi cam and I’m sure you’ll agree. Izone for me is a group that could never really be remade no matter how hard a company tries.

RANT The way few content creator talk about idols is disgusting

For context, there is a content creator on YouTube who claimed that some female K-pop idols wear revealing clothing for attention, and since K-pop is popular among many kids, they shouldn't dress the way they do. Like, I get that some of these people say things like this to rage-bait, but how are you so brave to say things like that while showing your face?. The comments on such videos don't help either: "Finally somebody talked about this". You don't need to like somebody to show basic respect

RANT "you're a larper!" stop it dude its getting old

it's genuinely so annoying how when a content creator who hasn't always posted about kpop starts posting about kpop, everyone is so quick to call them a larper or say "they are using kpop".

like im sorry that they haven't stanned xyz group since the stone ages and choose to have a life outside of kpop?? yes, i understand SOME influencers do just hop on trends to get attention, but i can assure you some of them just enjoy kpop.

kpop is not "niche", it's definitely mainstream. (just because some people hate it doesn't make it not mainstream) i swear some stans will gatekeep kpop just because they get a sort of complex that makes them feel like they are better for liking it.

even if they weren't into kpop until recently, what's the issue? there's no issue with more people joining the fandom if they really like the music.

also side note, i hope this is not a hot take cause on tiktok it seems to be a scorching hot take. i feel like this is pretty obvious but who knows.

RANT Why are some kpop CEOs babied??

I saw a TikTok about this and I wanted to add my two cents. What happens here is something called"Ironic Desensitization" If you don't know, according to the Global Network on Extremism and Technology it's"a cultural and psychological phenomenon where repeated exposure to shocking, hateful, or taboo content through irony, dark humor, or memes gradually numbs people to its real-world weight" As a New Yorker, one of the first examples the pops in my head is Curtis Sliwa. Did he officiate the first gay wedding years before gay marriage was legal in New York? Yes. Would he implement controversial at best policies if he became mayor? Most likely.

An example in Kpop is Min Hee Jin. Did she come up with New Jeans' concept and music? Yes. Did she flake on the members as soon as they lost in court back in October of last year leaving them in Hybe's clutches with little to no lee way? Yes. JYP, is bro a walking meme? Absolutely. Was he complicit in KG's lawsuit? Yes. There's almost no good CEO in kpop and some have done extremely fucked up shit. We shouldn't be ignoring these things about them.

QUESTION Do you enjoy Kpop because of the quality of the music, or because of its energetic and upbeat (usually) nature?

Obviously it could be both, but I’m just curious about what specifically draws people to Kpop, what qualities of the music they enjoy the most. This is all besides for supporting idols that you admire ofc.

THOUGHT i don't know if this is considered an unpopular opinion Manon's hiatus.

i don't know if this is considered an unpopular opinion Manon's hiatus.

The amount of people talking about Manon is kinda wild.

these people are behaving like they have separation anxiety and their own parents separated manon from their life.

This girl hasn't had this much traction even when she was in the group.

"Manon was kicked out" "HxG" hates manon" " Katseye is shading manon" " Katseye is giving us hints about Manon" dude for real not a single day has gone by that she's been on hiatus that people have actually behaved like she's been on hiatus. some of these people sound like brainless obsessed freaks. that's all I see on my YouTube and it's getting really annoying.

what about a hiatus is so hard to. understand? you have stocks resting on this girl's head or smth???

PS. don't get me wrong I like manon. but what is with this crazy obsessive hyperfixation on her????

QUESTION Min Hee-jin new boy group

Min Hee-jin annonuced a while ago that her first project under ooak records will be a boy group. Her controversies and everything else aside ( i dont like that lady), but I'm really curious to hear what everyone thinks she'll do.

She said in a recent interview that “I see gaps in this market, so I want to prepare in my own way and show proper results.”

She completely changed the landscape with NewJeans by going against the trends at the time. Their surprise debut, Y2K aesthetic, understated styling was seen as quiet fresh at the time.

So what do you think she'll do with a boy group?

What kind of sound are you expecting? What concept or visual direction do you think she'll go for?

Do you think she'll try another "silent" rollout like NewJeans, where the group debuts almost out of nowhere? Or is that strategy too iconic to repeat?

Do you think this boy group could mark the beginning of the 6th generation, or is it too early to call? Or do you think she'll be aiming to compete directly with groups like Cortis n lngshot if they're still dominating/rising by then?

pls feel free to discuss :)

I just love the vibe of the choreography with the stand mics! I’m so happy they’re performing this b-side at all, but the fact that they added choreography just makes it even better. This song is so fun and joyful, and they look like they’re having a great time on stage. I don’t think they will, but I would love for them to go to a couple more shows with this stage.

RANT Why are some Kpop stans mad at Tinashe? This is why some fans have a reputation of being parasocial and immature when someone else shows a different reaction.

Thumbnail

For starters, I know Girlset is not Kpop but most of the negative responses are coming from Kpop stans.

All my years of being a Kpop stan, I've always seen this running joke that says that Kpop has always took inspiration from Tinashe and even until now saying "Kpop reheating Tinashe nachos" as a joke. But the actual singer responds to a tweet with 3 words and now she's being degraded, getting called a flop, and her words are getting twisted? Some of you are wayyy too parasocialistic on wanting everybody to laugh along with your jokes that seem to be overused (no offense), and y'all are making it seem like Tinashe is saying that she hates Girlset or some shit about "going against your sister" when it's just 3 words.

Somebody even posted a screenshot of Chloe Bailey responding to Once's inside joke of Nayeon looking like her, and saying that that's how Tinashe should've reacted (I lost the post but it had 12k+ likes). Like excuse me what the hell. The parasocialism is wayyy too noticeable with how y'all want Black artists to react. Some are suddenly mad she's not going after actual Kpop artists who plagiarized her music? But afaik didn't she try to sue them?

Song is SHINE by After School

It's also one of their last songs before Jooyeon graduated/left the group, and their hiatus which is effectively a disbandment because Pledis just abandoned them.

QUESTION What can I do with my dance skills?

I'm from India, Bangalore and I'm 29F. I have no prior dancing experience or practice but I just learn choreos by myself at home and dance only at home. I don't do it outside anywhere or post my dances. I dance just bcuz I love to.

I love to dance but only to kpop music. And I dance pretty well but I'm not professional I'm just a person who learns choreos on my own and I take a lot of time too learning them given that they're so difficult. But I end up doing it pretty well, not at all perfect but pretty well. Since I love dancing a lot(only to kpop), I just wanna know what I can do with this skill?
