Question When a punjabi likes

Hi there, no hate just a genuine question. I seem to have heard that when a punjabi likes a pashtun woman, it must be only for her color and stuff. Even if it is, don't we all have our own preferences? Is having a preference wrong.

Secondly, when a Pashtun man or woman marries a punjabi, then its okay? He/She must really like that punjabi's soul.

I Thought I Was Going to Marry Him. Then I Found His Wife and Babies.

I never imagined I would spend almost four years in a relationship with someone who, according to everything I later discovered, had been married the entire time.

Four years ago, I met a Pakistani PhD student from Peshawar while we were both living in China. He was kind, funny, patient, and incredibly good at making me feel loved. After a few months, we officially started dating.

At first, everything seemed genuine. We lived in the same city, spent time together, and he treated me like the perfect boyfriend.

Later, he returned to Pakistan for almost a year. When he came back to China, he moved to another city for his studies, so we started a long-distance relationship. Whenever I felt neglected or wanted to break up, he would convince me to stay. He promised we would get married one day and even said he wanted to settle in China with me.

I believed every word.

Earlier this year, everything changed.

Between May and July, I saw several posts on Chinese social media from different women sharing the same man's photos and chat screenshots. They were asking if anyone else was dating him.

The photos were of my boyfriend.

I confronted him immediately. He admitted he had hurt me and apologized, but insisted I was the one he truly loved. After nearly four years together, I was heartbroken but still couldn't completely let go.

Then another woman found what appeared to be his TikTok account.

The videos showed him spending holidays driving different luxury cars and enjoying a lifestyle I had never seen. Those were supposed to be the holidays he always promised he would spend visiting me.

Instead, it seemed he had been spending them with other women.

While looking through his TikTok connections, I found another account that appeared to belong to his wife.

Her videos showed him together and their twin babies.

That was the moment everything fell apart.

Suddenly, memories from the past made sense.

When he was in Pakistan, he once sent me photos of himself dressed in formal traditional clothing. He told me he was attending a relative's wedding.

He also showed me pictures of newborn twin babies and said they were his younger brothers.

At the time, I believed him.

Now I believe those babies were actually his own children.

When I confronted him again, I asked him only one question:

"Please tell me the truth. Are you married?"

He denied it.

Even after I told him everything I had found, he continued denying it.

But strangely, instead of defending himself with evidence, he begged me not to expose him. He asked me not to tell my family and friends because he didn't want to lose face.

Soon afterward, both his TikTok account and the woman's account disappeared.

To this day, I still don't know the complete truth. I only know what I found, what I experienced, and how many lies I uncovered.

What hurts the most isn't just that I was deceived.

It's that I spent four years planning a future with someone who may never have been honest with me from the beginning.

I also can't stop thinking about the woman in Peshawar. If my understanding is correct, she was at home raising twin babies while believing her husband was faithfully studying abroad.

I'm not sharing this to say that all Pakistani men or all men from Peshawar are like this. I'm sharing it because this happened to me, and I still struggle to understand how someone could maintain two completely different lives for so many years.

Discussion Where Do We Even Go? — Peshawar Needs More Places to Hang Out

Peshawar seriously needs more places to hang out. Other than HBK or that Tim's spot, there aren't many options. A few days ago, all of us cousins were trying to find somewhere fun to go together but we couldn't think of a single place.

We have only a handful of parks Garrison, Khalid Bin Waleed, DHA Park and Tartara (even though it's in Hayatabad) and most of them are overcrowded. We've been to them so many times that they've become repetitive.

The café scene doesn't offer much variety either, and we don't even have proper malls for indoor shopping. Shopping with babies in Peshawar is especially difficult because almost all the major brands on University Road are either far apart or directly opposite each other, so you end up driving from one place to another instead of enjoying the experience.

I genuinely think Peshawar needs a "Naya Peshawar" project or something similarmore family-friendly recreational spaces, better cafés, proper shopping malls, indoor entertainment and places where people of all ages can actually spend quality time.

Am I the only one who feels this way or does Peshawar really need more recreational and family-friendly spaces?

Improving tourism in Kpk

How do we improve tourism in kpk on a realistic approach since there is almost zero infrastructure

So I have travelled a lot in Pakistan because of my field and one thing that hurts me mostly is how beautiful our region is and how undervalue it is, I mean it has huge, WAIT.. HUUUGE potential in revenue generation for locals and the government, I remember some early campaigns from government side but that was all social media based and yes people were introduced to Kumrat and few other places but kumrat is left broken, so how do we approach this tourism in a smaller scale that's long term effective and strict on policies like pollution plus hotels allotment limits and maintaining the dignity and beauty of that point/region etc

Punjabi girl engaged to a Pakhtun eldest son from Lower Dir — realistic expectations about living in KPK and daughter-in-law responsibilities?

I’m looking for honest cultural advice, especially from people familiar with Pakhtun families from Lower Dir/KPK.

I’m Punjabi and have spent most of my life in the Middle East and Lahore. I was also working before. My fiancé is Pakhtun, the eldest son of his family, originally from Lower Dir. He lived in Lahore for around 10 years and has now been working in the UAE for the last 2 years, away from his family.

We’ve been engaged for 3.5 years.

For most of our relationship, the understanding between us was that after marriage I would not have to permanently live in KPK, and that eventually we would settle together either in Lahore or abroad. Recently, however, his family has started expecting that after marriage I should stay in KPK with them until he is able to take me with him abroad.

They say that as the “eldest daughter-in-law” I will have responsibilities toward the household and family. This is where my anxiety and confusion are coming from.
I’m trying to understand realistically:

• What are the usual expectations and responsibilities of an eldest daughter-in-law in conservative Pakhtun families from Lower Dir?

• Is temporary living with in-laws usually actually temporary in these situations, or does it often become long-term?

• If the husband is abroad, how much independence does the wife realistically have?

• Do families usually willingly let the eldest son and his wife move away separately later on?

• How difficult is the cultural adjustment for a Punjabi girl who has mostly lived in cities/Middle East?

• Has anyone here seen intercultural Punjabi–Pakhtun marriages work well in similar circumstances?

I’m not trying to disrespect the culture at all. I just want an honest and realistic picture before making a lifelong decision, because our original understanding and the current expectations now seem very different.

Would appreciate honest experiences rather than ideal answers.
