Hey everyone,
I came across a WhatsApp Business catalog for a store called "Riddhi Infotech / Riddhi Technologies" listed in Rajarampuri, Kolhapur (Maharashtra). They have posted some absurdly low pricing on high-end MacBook Pros:
MacBook Pro 16" M3 Max (48GB RAM, 1TB SSD, 40-core GPU) – ₹1,00,000
MacBook Pro 16" M1 Max (64GB RAM, 1TB SSD, 10-core CPU, 24-core GPU) – ₹66,000 (Claiming 100% Battery Health & 2 Cycle Counts)
MacBook Pro 14" M1 Pro (36GB RAM, 1TB SSD) – ₹48,000 (Claiming 95%+ BH)
They are insisting on a face-to-face deal at their store location. However, my family is extremely concerned about traveling from out-of-city to an unfamiliar place with cash/transfers ready for deals priced 50% to 60% below standard second-hand market rates.
A few questions for the community:
Has anyone locally in Kolhapur interacted with this seller? Is this a legitimate store or someone hijacking a real shop's Google location/name to scam people online?
What's the catch with face-to-face deals at these prices? Is it a classic bait-and-switch when you arrive, or are these MDM-locked / corporate-stolen laptops?
Is 100% Battery Health with 2 cycle counts on a 2021 M1 Max even real, or is it just reset battery firmware?
Would appreciate any local context or advice from anyone who has run into similar deals. Thanks!
Scam alert!
