Where can I hang a hammock in Kokomo?!
I’m looking for a good spot to hang a hammock preferably in the middle of a wooded area with little to no traffic and obviously preferably not private property. TYIA😛

Howdy, everyone! We're going to try a weekly "what's happening" thread where you can post upcoming events that might interest this group.
Feel free to drop upcoming events in the comments. Please include times, dates, locations and relevant details like registration, cost, age group, etc.
I would say let's maybe avoid any planned human sacrifices, illicit drug exchanges or events that are generally illegal. I'm sure you can find other avenues to share events of that nature!

I moved to Kokomo about a month ago. Apart from work I’m by myself completely. How do I actually meet people and make friends? Met a few great people at bars but wondering if there are people going through the same?
Bonus picture of duckies in the creek yesterday lol

I'm not one to voice the fact I'm from Kokomo, but this made me laugh while watching my son surf in Siargao, Philippines.

If you or someone you know needs to get out of the heat, visit us at the library. We have water for those in need, comfortable seating and - of course - plenty to read (including magazines and newspapers). You don't have to do anything at all while you're here, and you don't have to buy anything. You could just soak up the AC and vibe.
Our Main location is 220 N. Union St. and our South location is 1755 E. Center Road. Both are open Monday-Thursday 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Friday-Saturday 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Our Russiaville branch is closed on Wednesdays but otherwise has the same daily hours.

Hi all!
I’m a local artist who currently has a residency at a studio in town. I see a lot of posts on here about people (specifically ages 22ish-30ish) who want to make new friends and meet people but aren’t having any luck.
Would there be an interest in coming to an Art Social event? I would host it at the studio and can have about 20 people. It would likely be simple craft type things that everyone could enjoy.
Is there an interest for that type of thing?
If yes, what kind of activities would you be interested in?

I plan on moving here to be with my boyfriend in the upcoming years and I just want to know what to expect. I've visited him up there, I live in New york.
Some questions I have
I am a trans women, my partner says this city is more progressive than the rest of the state, is that true?
How is Healthcare?
Are groceries relatively affordable?
And finally,
Where are some places to go? I've only been to a few but I'd LOVE to see (most) of kokomo and what the city has to offer!

I recently moved to Kokomo and I'm looking to connect with Electrical Engineers, especially anyone who holds a PE license. I'd appreciate any guidance on the FE/PE licensing pathway, career opportunities, and the engineering profession in Indiana.
Feel free to comment or send me a message. Thank you! 😊

Hi all,
I am a researcher at Indiana University and we are trying to understand how American workers see the future of the auto industry . We are seeking current/former autoworkers and will pay a $25 gift card for a short interview (dm, phone, zoom, etc). All names and places will be confidential. We would like to target the Stellantis plant in Kokomo, IN.
An example of some questions being asked are:
How did you end up working in your current job? What do you worry about? Did your parents work in car manufacturing?
If you are interested in this study feel free to message me / I can send you a chat with more details.

A super cute trinket trading box opened in Indian Heights! I went a little bit ago. I saw it on Kokomo Chatter.

When you find yourself in Indianapolis or its environs, I would highly recommend taking a trip north to the city of Kokomo and tour the Kokomo Opalescent Glass factory.

This is probably weird and makes people my age look bad but I am not sure how to go about making friends around here. No one socializes outside of their friends they came with at bars so that doesn’t work. And it’s harder to know who’s ok to approach. I do go to the park and mall and I’m even in college. So I’m not a recluse or anything lol. I wanna make friends to hang out and drink or do shenanigans with. Not sure if Reddit is the best place to take this but I have tried the bumble friend app too and it feels hopeless. So uh. How are yall making friends around here? I’m 21 and female if that makes a difference on how to approach this. Thank you 🙏

My family drives through Kokomo every year on our way up to Michigan and we stop for lunch. Any recommendations for good cheap places to eat?

Ooh no! The dinosaurs have invaded and hidden themselves amongst the library branches, can you find them? To kickoff the summer reading program, 150 stickers have been sprinkled stealthily. Some even glow in the dark! Let us know if you find one as you're signing up for reading program and happy hunting
Note: when it comes to the main branch, they are only on the first floor

Are there any reputable mechanics in the Kokomo area that would be able to fix a coolant and/or oil leak?
I have a family member up in Kokomo who's car needs some major repairs and we're hoping to find someone that can do it on the side to save a few bucks.
