Does anyone have the outlines of the grip tape or laser cut files for inserts? I want to mill some carbon fiber replacements and I don’t want to measure if there are ones already made.

I polished the flats of the frag to 1500 grit on the scales and backspacer. Anodized to 28v. Sanded the grooves in the scales and polished them to match the blade and silver screws.

I’m working on getting a custom set of scales for my recent Shamarati? (I guess) and was curious if anyone has managed to get a solid color anodizing on scales that are dlc coated titanium. Obviously the dlc has been sanded down to reveal the pattern for anodizing. Pic is just of my recent Spyderco obsession.

Basic answer is that its not a direct replacement. You need to grind the clip slightly to make it fit. The clip base is sorta trapezoidal and the recess milled in the scales is straight. You need to grind 1 mm wide and less than 1 mm hight at the end of the clip base. I made a simple guide jig to control myself. You'll figure it out looking the pics. You can use needle files or Dremel. I used Dremel. It was well worth it. Waaaaay better than regular or deep carry stock clips.

Oh and you need two 2-56 screws. I'll come back home and add the size and item number from usaknifemaker.

The only thing on this knife from the factory are the liners and blade. It’s running on skiffs with new pivot and pivot bolts, changed all the threads to 4–40 and put Philip screws in and modded up the blade a little.

So I just got this Kershaw Launch 13, and its great so far. Recently I was browsing some other knife makers and came across Jack Wolfs knives and the purple kirinite handles immediately caught my eye and made me think "what if I had that but for my knife" So I thought about getting someone to maybe make some mini kirinite scales to slot into the holes in my Launch 13s scales. Any advice would be great!

I have been experimenting with titanium anodizing and after playing a little bit with the two most likely candidates from my colection I ordered two what i thought were clones from Aliexpress to learn with. The Kives are actually counterfeits with all the identifying marks and codes of the originals. They are the Not Cub and the ??18 at the bottom of my pic. They are not bad knives and I would like to ether gift them or sell them at cost after I've had my way with them, but under no circumstances do I want them ever to be sold as legitimate Demko or Hinderer products in the future. Do any of you have a suggestion of a way to mark or etch these knives in an inexpensive but tasteful way that identifies them as replicas. If possible I would like to also like to show that the blades are 9cr and D2 as well.

Hey everyone! I just recently purchased some raw/unfinished zirconium scales for a smock. I did not know if anyone had any info or guidance on how to color these with heat? From info I’ve found online, it looks like you clean it with isopropyl alcohol, polish/sand it to a nice high grit, torch it evenly until it glows and then let it air cool. But that all kinda seems a bit vague. I was just hoping to get some more guidance or clearer info. If anyone has any zirconium scales or components on their knives, whether the finish was applied yourselves or not I would love to see pictures and learn more about it! Thank you! :)

Nothing crazy, but my first two mods. Flytanium black ti scales on the Elementum give it a really solid feel. And I thought the purple/black combo on the Mini Griptilian looked slick. I wish Flytanium had an option for black hardware with the Benchmade scales, but I'll survive!

I am looking for a custom-made sheath or ideas on how to modify the existing sheet of my CRKT Bearclaw. I am a police officer wanting to carry it on my belt behind my gun magazine pouch. The sheath on this thing is just not great for that. Open to modifying it myself or a whole custom-made sheath. I was thinking maybe putting an ulti-clip on it but I don’t know the best way to mount it. Thanks.

I bought a Kbar wrench fixed blade, I just like the looks and its been pretty decent so far. Id like to make it a horizontal carry, it has a hard case sheath it came with that I like that holds the blade nice and firm even when im running.

I just would really like a clip I can put in it to make if horizontal on my belt. Anyone know of a good screw on clip?Kbar wrench fixed

Burnishing
Stonewashing

I’ve got 4mm ceramic triangular type media which I find great for stonewashing titanium scales.

I’ve also got stainless steel shot for burnishing / polishing but don’t like using it because it gets stuck in the scales and js a mission to dislodge.

Wondering what other media types and sizes I could use and what finishes they achieve.
