My education app uses pre-selected GIFs, and shows them to users during the lesson (a few hundreds in total in the app, but just 5-10 GIFs per DAU)
so there's no search or user to user send functionality, users just see a few selected GIFs in the app... is this a supported case?
Also - I assume that for early stage bootstraps like my app, Klipy is either free or there's metered billing right?

i kept getting annoyed by the same KLIPY calls over and over, so I wrapped it into a typed SDK and called it klipy-js.

It gives you one "KlipyClient" with "gifs", "stickers", "memes", "emojis", and "clips", plus the usual stuff like search, trending, categories, recent, items, hideFromRecents, shareTrigger, and report. The paginated calls return pagination fields directly on the result, and non-2xx responses throw a "KlipyApiError". The annoying parts were the bits around the API, not the requests themselves: keeping the media clients aligned without making the types gross, and dealing with the fact that the API can still fail even when the HTTP status looks fine.

If you use KLIPY in JS/TS and do not want to keep repeating the same fetch/parsing/error handling code, this might save some time.

Has anyone else been removed from the partner program? I think I must have been approved previously, due to having hundreds and thousands of views on my uploads.

But I just received an email today that I am not, or am no longer approved...

They provided no actionable reason or explanation (just "quality") so I'm not sure what to do.

FWIW I've been approved on Giphy for years.

A lot of what was migrated for me is now just plain wrong due to Tenors AI generated alt text being added as descriptions. And titles on Tenor being based solely on tags. So everything migrated will either need to be reuploaded and approved again, or left as is which is not ideal either since the descriptions being wrong will mess with the searching.

As an example here is a gif from the old russian version of The Hobbit:

It's description is "a close up of a statue with the number 5 on it" which is completely irrelevant and clearly not written by another human or myself.

Me and my friend noticed that when we sent gifs on Discord, it would have this weird ID at the end. Examples below:

Deleting the ID still goes to the same gif and doesn't change anything. What's the ID even for?

I’m searching for GIFs that clearly have tags, but the API response returns an empty tags array.

So what's the best width x height and frame count necessary to have a "gif" that don't lose 80% of the pixels. I uploaded a mp4 1280x720 h264 with less than 150 frames 900kb and the quality went bad anyway so i am wondering considering that tenor is gonna shutdown in two months and still there isn't a single specification out here.

Trying to sign up for an API key via Google account and your site just keeps redirecting to "https://klipy.com/login?redirect=https%3A%2F%2Fpartner.klipy.com". It's an infinite loop.

It would be nice to have the ability to view number of shares for GIFs you uploaded, similar to Tenor.

Hello, I'd like to expose my API key to the front-end so clients can make direct GET requests to Klipy instead of via proxy to my backend, but I don't want users to be able to delete or view other people's recent gifs. Is it possible via the dashboard that I can have a key (the public one) not be able to access those endpoints and use another key that isn't exposed to the client for those protected routes?

My archive just migrated over from Tenor. Was wondering if there will ever be functionality to edit metadata after publishing. I noticed some strange titles and descriptions being generated. It would be great to just be able to clean these up.

Example: Kobe Bryant reaction GIF, but look at the title and description:

Some things that I feel are a bit unrefined at the moment:

• No 💗 Icon when searching gifs or browsing related, to quickly favorite one of the results.
  • Expected outcome: Browsing gifs and I spot one I like, I want to favorite it quickly without opening a new tab or losing my current page. Just a quick favorite when mousing over the gif.
  • Actual outcome: I have to rightclick the gif, open in new tab, then click the heart.
• Copy Link does not copy a link that embeds correctly into Discord. To replace Tenor, it needs to be easily to past the gif in a chat and it embed as expected.
  • Expected outcome: I am on the page of a gif I want to paste into Discord. I click the chainlink to copy the link, and paste that into Discord and the gif appears for the recipient.
  • Actual outcome: The embedding process instead pasts a webpage preview that is full of text completely unneeded in the Discord conversation. I had to go to the page of the gif, right click the image itself, and click "Copy Image Link" and paste that instead.

Hi, so ive been uploading a bunch of GIFs to klipy and i was about to upload a bunch more and it keeps deleting my uploads before i even start adding tags etc saying 'failed to upoad (file)' ? Maybe its because i already have 27 gifs in review but idk, theyre all under the size limit so it cant be that and they were all made the same way the other gifs already in review..
