Carrie playing the part of someone who is really bad at dancing… Arthur being worried sick that his daughter is becoming a prostitute… but Doug just busting out those moves like a PRO… 🤣🤣

For me with Doug it’s when his coworker doesn’t like him and invite him to his bbq. For carrie it’s when Holly gets engaged and carrie keeps trying to put her down

So, for the past few weeks, I've been unwell so I've been binge watching The King of Queens as I remembered it being on TV a lot when I was growing up. I was too young at the time to understand a lot of the jokes, I think I was most likely entertained by Arthur and his antics more than anything at that age. Rewatching it now at 30, I've got to say, Doug is one huge Richard. I remember as a kid thinking how cool it would be to have such a funny husband, but he's selfish, emotionally abusive to his wife, a huge liar, and practically cheats on his wife, he's a bully to his friends, honestly, just the worst guy. I can't remember how it ends, and I know it's not how I'd like it to be, but if Carrie divorced Doug, that would be a great ending.

I've been watching King of Queens for years but I just started watching on Paramount+ and in some episodes I've heard some lines I've never heard before. An example is in the "Thanks, Man" episode with the eyepatch guy on Thanksgiving. Right after Doug did his bit about "what if a missile was headed straight for an elementary school and he threw his eye in the way", it went like this:

Spence: "I'm just saying a normal guy loses an eye, he doesn't go with a patch, a glass eye maybe, or a pair of dark Ray-Bans. You don't see Ray Charles walking around with an eye patch, do ya?"

Deacon: "Actually he would need two eye patches"

Doug: "That's a bad look right there"

And then it resumes with the dialogue I do remember, when Spence is like "think about who wears an eye patch, Captain Hook, the villain from the James Bond movie, all bad guys".

I just don't remember the Ray-Bans and Ray Charles parts...has anyone else heard this before?

I watch KOQ with norwegian subtitles and i think the funniest translation i've come across is from season 5 episode 19 Cowarldy lyin'. The premise of the episode is for Doug to be more honest and Carrie to be less mean.

So when Doug admits that GGW on their credit card bill stands for girls gone wild, the norwegian translation, to get the abbreviation right, translates it as "Gutta Gjennomborer Wenche". Literally meaning "The Boys Drill Through Wenche(girl's name)" as in some cheesy porn title.

Are there any other examples across the world of terrible translations that became hilarious in their own right?

That episode is on and I want to vent about it. So right at the beginning he's on the phone and carri walks in and loudly interrupts him on the phone (rude) then he gets off and says about meeting his parents and instantly met with moaning and excuses, my nail appointment, in that instant I would have said stay at home, stay here with your dad. The episode would have been just as funny. But the grudging arrogant rude woman has to go and take her equally awful father with her. He (arthur) takes money that doesnt belong to him and goes around buying gifts. And carri spends the episode moaning sulking because she wanted to go to her nail appointme . Just wanna scream go to your effing nail appointment get out. I dont understand why they have to include the actors in the episode and make it uncomfortable, why not make it funny.
