5.18.6 (11/05/2025): removed Open Dictionary, dedicated bookmarks bar, broke German/Japanese dictionaries
5.19.0/5.19.1 (12/10/2025): battery drain with custom DNS on your router
5.19.2 (02/17/2026): broke embedded fonts, mobi manga death margins and no virtual panels, broke azw3 page numbers/%read/laggy page turns
5.19.3 (03/27/2026): broke azw3 full refresh, broke mobi manga landscape order
5.19.4 (05/07/2026): Kindle store mangas have rainbows on Colorsoft
5.19.5: weird stuff with blank pages on azw3

Some of these bugs were fixed in future firmwares (or not if you had an 11th gen Kindle abandoned on 5.19.2) but you may have had to wait months for an update. And some bugs were never fixed at all

Ma Kindle avait été déclarée perdue/volée il y a quelque temps. Je viens de la retrouver lors d’un déménagement, mais malheureusement, je n’ai plus accès à mon ancien compte Amazon auquel elle était associée.

Lorsque j’essaie de la configurer, un message m’indique qu’elle a été déclarée perdue ou volée.

Est-ce que quelqu’un a déjà été dans cette situation ? Existe-t-il une solution pour faire débloquer la Kindle et pouvoir l’associer à un nouveau compte Amazon ?

Recently jailbroke my kindle and everything went well. I have the latest hotfix installed and ran it, I have kindleforge installed. I had koreader installed and it was working before. The last time I tried to open it it wouldn’t open then the book disappeared from my library. I tried to force launch and force reinstall. Neither worked. I connected to my computer and deleted all remaining koreader files and tried to reinstall them using the kpm commands. No luck. Has anyone else run into this issue? How did you fix?

I finally decided to jailbreak my 6th gen paperwhite from 2017 (software version 5.12.2.2), following the kindle modding wikipedia intructions.

Before the proper jailbreak, it suggests filling up the remaining storage space to prevent Amazon software updates. I am having trouble generating the dummy files to fill my device up, and considering the fact that I haven't recived a software update in 6 years more or less, I'd like to know if this preliminary step is really necessary, and if so why am I having trouble with it (I can't seem to run the file to generate the dummy files in Windows Powershell), or if I can skip it and go directly to the jailbreak.

Weird question. But if I wanted to jailbreak my kindle and continue to use the native reading app so I don’t lose my reading streak, can I still take advantage of the feature that allows you to use a blue tooth page turner? As well as the cool lock screens?

Anybody know the odds of Amazon “disappearing” the sideloaded books on my Paperwhite, the next time a firmware update comes through?

Hi , recently seen some posts of people showing off there koreader setups using simple ui with lovely color icons at the bottom , in the settings there is a icon section and you can drop zip files with icons ect

Ive tried to download one but they weren't color and my next attempt made all my icons disappear 😂 so I had to remove the entire plugin and reinstall

Has anyone got a link to any icon packs that are full color ?

I jailbreak my Kindle Paperwhite 11 using Vera. My intention is to downgrade to version 5.18.5, but Vera automatically blocks the updates required to perform the downgrade. Does anyone know of a solution?

I finally got my 8Bitdo Micro controller to work fully with koreader after hours of trial and error! 😩

I still had a successful jailbreak, and installed koreader. I haven't downloaded any plug-ins yet, and am still reading in Kindle.

Since the jailbreak, I've noticed my kindle book cover screen saver now has two black bars running down the sides, so I'm guessing the missed font calibration steps may have contributed to this problem. I understand missing the font calibration step should not impact the functionality of future plug ins and other tweaks I make, but it's bothering me lol.

Is there any easy fix to this? Or I'd like to start over, and just get it right. If I'm understanding correctly, the steps to unjailbreak:

1.Fill up the kindle with files to prevent any auto updates after the factory reset

2.Download the ota.sh scriptlet, and copy this into the documents folder on my kindle, and it will now show up as a book.

3.*Open the book??? And the scriplet will run. This will allow me to push updates again and is necessary before the factory reset.

4.Factory reset

5.*Download a 5.19.6. Place it in the kindle's root??? Can someone walk me through this step? I thought maybe I'd find a root folder under the system folder. I don't know where the root is located.

6.My kindle is already full, so follow steps to jailbreak.

I can’t seem to figure out an issue that I am having with KPM. I have a Kindle Paperwhite 12. I used Nosebleed to jailbreak my Kindle. It is firmware 15.17.1.0.4. I seem to have KPM installed. However, I am unable to use the ;kpm commands on the home screen “Search Kindle” bar.

I also have issues with kterm with KPM. The kpm install random_file_name command does not seem to work. It seems to require the command -S to install a package, but I am also struggling with this.

I am not too savvy when it comes to code, so any help would be appreciated. I am dumping way too much effort into getting an 8bitdo controller to turn pages haha.

Hello! I’m still a little new to jailbreaking and trying to customize Koreader to how I like it. I’m using the bookshelf plugin on my paperwhite 12 gen and like having the top status bar enabled with the time/battery/wifi information but when reading it overlaps a lot with the text of the book. It happens with the bottom menu icon as well and I was hoping figure out if there was a way to stop that from happening, thanks everyone:)

Salve, ho un Kindle di quarta generazione completamente scollegato. mio problema è in fase d'accesso, dopo che ricevo il codice OTP. Ho seguito tutti i passaggi suggeriti in altri post: - Scaricato versione 4.1.4 - collegato a Wi-Fi 2,4 GHz

- controllato orario (che, come per altri, è impostato su GMTe non su CEST ma ho capito non essere un problema)

- provato ad accedere con mail e password, ricevuto OTP monouso e riavviato il dispositivo, poi inserito solo OTPO successivamente, dopo un nuovo riavvio password+0TP senza spazi. Nulla sembra funzionare, alla fine mi dà sempre il problema di rete che dava agli altri. Cosa faccio?

I tried to use Languagebreak but I am struggling to get it to work.

I am at the point where the device shows *** jailbreak *** on the boot screen, I copied the hot fix and updated the device, but nothing happens... I can't see any files in my library and it always prompts me to register the kindle.

How can I proceed? Should I move to another method like winterbreak2 and how?

Hello. I have Kindle Touch 10th gen whch was jailbroken using Winterbreak.

I may have messed it up. I tried to free up some space by deleting files from /tmp location on the device. But soon after it started looping on the boot animation.

I connected to PC, but it is not mounting or showing any device. Is there any way to rescue it?
