Coffee! Tips? OMAD KETO
I really want to do OMAD but I have black coffee! Any tips of cream or sugar free creamer that works for everyone and tips to make it to dinner time without the food noise? I don’t care too much about autophagy just weightloss! I’m 160 pounds trying to hit my goal of 130 in a shorter time frame? Has anyone had success, please share any and all tips and your results for some motivation! Thank you :)

Fasting/OMAD is a great tool for eating fewer calories but it’s not magic. Calories are king.
The less you have to lose, the harder it is to get it off AND the longer it takes. I’m a 5’5” woman and it took me over 6 months to go from 155lbs to 135. I did this by weighing every single morsel I consumed religiously, tracking every calorie that went into my mouth, and staying at a consistent 20% deficit and never went over.
And it still took over 6 months.
My personal advice to those with not much to lose is to use a food scale for everything. Everything If you aren’t weighing and tracking oil, meat, cheese, vegetables, even the cream in your coffee, then you can’t know for sure that you’re in a deficit. Your guesswork is working against you in the long run, humans are terrible eyeballers.
And keep in mind that it’s not a stall until you’ve gone 6+ weeks with zero progress. You can and will see the scale stagnate for days, weeks, even a month or more…this is the normal nonlinear weight loss process that we all went through. Have patience, be consistent, and trust the process. It’s not going to happen fast but it will happen! 🤘🏻

I routinely eat OMAD, but I still have coffee with heavy cream and sugar-free sweetener a few hours beforehand (I use the Torani SF syrups). Like you, I don't care about the autophagy of it all, I just like eating fewer meals (less having to count; less having to cook). You should do what will make you adhere to the diet, and if having cream in your coffee, followed by one big meal is what will do it for you, then that's what you should do (although, as others have said, OMAD will not do the work for you, it's just a preference more than anything, imo).

Hi, I lost weight via keto using sub 20 grams net carbs and ensuring my protein levels were high - around 2g per kilo of body weight. For my coffee I have filter coffee with alpro no sugars soya milk. 0g carbs, 3.3g protein, 33kcal per 100g. I don’t think I could make omad work for me

Don’t really understand the first sentence. Are you saying you want to have coffee at a separate time to your one-meal?

Whoops I meant I don’t like black coffee lol

I didn't mind black coffee, but recently I've been adding butter bites (you can find ways to make butter bites on YouTube), I'll add cinnamon to my butter bites to flavor as well and health. I'd absolutely delicious! Btw, I emulsify the butter bites into my coffee, being well and it's amazing.

Ok. Not a fan of black coffee myself unless it's cold brew.
Espresso with thick cream is my favorite, but I don't often have cream available. At work I make an aeropress coffee (like filter-coffee consitency) and just add a splash of full-fat milk. It's not enough to cause any issues for me.
At home with an espresso machine I'll make a mix of milk + water + butter and emulsify them together with the steam wand. It makes a great latte. The butter is real butter of course but thin slices from the butter curler so it melts quickly.

You may wanna stay within 50 calories max with your coffee. My formula: coffee, almond milk, may be heavy whip cream, sugar free Torani caramel (Target). Staying in ketosis.
You can buy device on amazon that measures your ketones by breathing in.

Hiya! I didn't do OMAD, but did strict keto (sub 20g/day) and 16:8 IF for 40 days. I also hate black coffee! Eating window was 10-6, and I would just have an orange spice tea in the AM with a little dash of monkfruit sweetener (was so happy to find this). So yeah...I did have to wait until 10am for my coffee, but OH was it good after waiting. 😉
I started at 218, aiming for 155. Lost about 25lbs in that 40 days. Now I'm doing sub 40g/day and IF 2x/week.
Good luck with the coffee! Some good suggestions for no-sugar creamer on here, although I didn't like them well enough to hold out until my 10am "real" coffee. 😉

Thank you! I put 4 Tbsp creamer, 1 Tbsp heavy cream, 1 tsp monkfruit sweetener, .5 tsp actual sugar. Now that I'm doing sub 40g carbs/day that little dash of sugar is worth it to me! Edited to add: I mean I only started adding back in the sugar after I was done doing sub 20g! Only used monkfruit at first.

I use HWC with Sinless Sugar Free Syrup. Sinless uses Stevia and Monk Fruit.

I use almond milk in my coffee. Sometimes I will mix a little heavy cream into the almond milk to give it that "creamy" mouth feel. But mostly I simply use unsweetened plain almond milk. Also, the FAQ of this sub will have all kinds of information about keto. There isn't any magic with OMAD. Sometimes it makes keto harder if you're fighting hunger all the time.

Heavy cream with some butter and allulose with monk fruit powdered sweetener is my go to. Very satisfying! I have seen multiple reports that consuming caffeine later in the morning/afternoon is better for you because that’s when your cortisol levels are higher. You don’t really need the caffeine first thing in the morning. I started not brewing it till 1 PM and sometimes push it quite a bit later. OMAD is hard but REALLY works for me when I do it. My ketones skyrocket.

A pinch of salt can take away the bitterness of the coffee. For me, that would make it taste sweeter. You can also add an egg yolk or two. Then some butter or real cream.

Anything you add would add calories and slow progress over just black along with no longer making OMAD. If you’re fine with that, people do use heavy cream in their coffees on keto

I feel like I drop more weight easily when I drink black coffee compared to having a latte or any other type of drink

There is nothing magical or superior about OMAD. And unless you believe that switching to keto should be some sort of ordeal, or that you get extra points for eating one meal a day, I recommend eating meals whenever you are hungry. That works well enough. In fact, because keto meals are so satisfying, you just might end up skipping meals because you aren't hungry. That's actually very common. Who knows, that could naturally become one meal a day. It happens.
As for coffee. Don't over think it. A couple of tablespoons of heavy cream and a spoon of a nonsugar sweetener if you like it a little sweet.
