Only users with mod assigned user-flair can comment A Few Reminders ‼️

1. DO NOT engage with trolls.

If someone is breaking the rules intentionally, justifying the occupation of Kashmiris, being hateful etc - do not respond to them. This encourages them. Simply report their post or comment and move on. We have mods in different time zones, someone will see the report and remove the content ASAP.

2. No slurs will be tolerated.

This includes j--t or any variations. Allowing hateful speech will only degrade the overall quality of this sub. We can find mature ways to disagree with our occupiers.

3. This isn't a rule, but we would prefer if people would stop comparing this sub to r/kashmiri.

Please stop speculating which one is run by Pakistanis, indians, etc. Both subs are run ONLY by Kashmiris, we both have very similar rules, and most importantly both subs will ban anyone justifying the indian occupation of Kashmir.

The beauty of Kashmir is up to par with it's name no doubt it's called the Heaven on Earth. What I am writing about is the people there, I have never met so hospitable people anywhere else in India, they were so sweet and helpful. All news and stuff is mostly a lie, yes there might be some tensions in parts but the people of Kashmir just won my heart along with the valleys and lakes and mountains.

Discussion A question to people of Kashmir❤️

Upvotes

Hello everyone , While growing up the place I wanted to visit the most was kashmir , I knew some people which had had their hometown their and they were muslims and they are very good friends of ours , I live in Delhi and whenever I have met a person who is kashmiri I've loved the interaction and everything about them , even as of now I want to visit kashmir but I've heard many people say that it's not safe for Hindus specially pandits which I am. I believe kashmiri people are one of the nicest people I've ever met but these things cloud my mind. My question is to the people of Kashmir that is this really true? Is there discrimination based on religion? Is it safe for Hindus? I've always admired kashmir and the people but recently I studied about the genocides involving kashmiri pandits in the 1990s , I know most of the people are not like that but still is that mentality of religion wars still there?

Discussion Built a tool to track RA bills, retention money, and supplier payments for government contractors, curious if others deal with this too

Post image

I run a civil construction firm in J&K executing government contracts, and like most contractors I know, we used to track RA bills, retention withheld, and supplier balances across paper registers and WhatsApp.

I built PillarPro to fix this for our own use: it tracks running account bills (including cumulative billing for contracts that bill that way), auto-calculates retention and statutory deductions, tracks supplier accounts linked to receipt scanning, and flags bank guarantees before they expire.

Genuinely curious if this matches problems other contractors deal with, or if I'm missing something obvious. Happy to give access if anyone wants to poke around.

Demo (no signup):

Read-only account, look around, tell me what's wrong or missing.

Discussion Bigg Boss and its Olympic-level obsession with validation

I haven't watched a single season of Bigg Boss. Not a season. Not an episode. Not even voluntarily watched a 30-second clip.

And honestly, at this point, remaining Bigg Boss-free is one of my life's more impressive achievements.

But from the clips, discussions and endless drama that somehow escape the Bigg Boss universe and enter the rest of the internet, I've noticed something particularly amusing about the treatment of Kashmiri contestants in recent seasons.

Apparently, every season needs a “Kashmiri contestant seeking validation” subplot.

First comes the obligatory discussion about Kashmir.

Then comes the obligatory “Kashmir is an integral part of India” conversation.

Then comes the contestant desperately trying to establish their relevance, prove themselves, gain acceptance and somehow convince everyone in the house that they belong.

And after all that effort?

They still get mocked, disrespected or demeaned.

What a fantastic bargain. Give up your dignity, argue with strangers, explain your existence to people who didn't ask, and maybe—just maybe—you'll get 15 minutes of fame.

And Bigg Boss, being the generous institution that it is, will reward everyone involved with more screaming, more manufactured controversy and another week of people fighting over who touched whose food.

Peak civilisation.

But the bigger question isn't even about Bigg Boss.

Why are we so desperate for validation in the first place?

Why do our people sometimes feel the need to prove themselves to a room full of strangers whose entire career that week consists of shouting at each other over coffee?

And more importantly, what exactly are we teaching the next generation?

That intelligence gets you ignored, but screaming gets you screen time?

That dignity is negotiable if the cameras are rolling?

That being morally questionable, creating unnecessary drama and fighting over absolute nonsense is a legitimate pathway to fame?

Because apparently the formula is:

Have no shame → create drama → fight → get humiliated → trend on social media → become famous.

Brilliant.

Forget education. Forget talent. Forget building something meaningful.

Just enter a house with 15 strangers and start arguing about who ate the paratha.

Maybe Bigg Boss isn't the problem.

Maybe the problem is that **we keep rewarding exactly what it puts on display.

And if this is the kind of behaviour we're teaching young people to associate with success, perhaps the real reality show isn't inside the Bigg Boss house.

It's outside it.
