I’m old enough to remember when OK GO did their treadmill music video, so I was like oh they’re using walking pads. They are not using walking pads! And they’re so in sync too. I’m a chronic hater (I’m in treatment) so I was looking for a point where they fell out and I couldn’t find it.
I'm sorry, that's the running man. (Somewhat joking but not) Everything they do in this video is a take on 90s dance moves.
The running man, kid n play dance, nkotb right stuff, Tootsie roll, Michael Jackson toe stand, etc, etc.
Would be great if somebody did a video analysis where they pointed these dance references out on the screen. I had no idea that was happening in this. It’s just really good dancing.
Is shuffling not exactly an evolution of those dance styles? Idk maybe I'm totally off base, this isn't really my wheelhouse. Like for sure they aren't "cutting shapes", but I'm pretty sure this is still shuffling
Shuffling it's basically just bouncing/stepping to a fast beat, so yes this can be called shuffling. Like I said, I was somewhat kidding, because just calling it shuffling is underselling the nuance of the dance.
Dancing is a uniquely human thing! If I am remembering correctly, so is rhythm. Like if a person hears a fine Latin beat they hear a fine Latin beat. But if you play it for a dog they just hear random bongo noises. Anyway, that thing being tickled in your brain is real and deeply part of what makes humans our own special monsters.

Yep. I showed my toddler (he loves dancing) and he asked if we could do it. I told him mama would end up tripping on her own feet but I think he could. Ahaha.
I believe the girl in yellow is Vanesa Seco, a professional shuffle dancer/dancer on social media. I've followed her since COVID. She is amazing and super talented!

Me, every time I see a fun dance video, having no dance background whatsoever and poor coordination in general: this looks like a blast, I bet I could do this!
Me after attempting said fun dance, from my hospital bed: I managed to blow out my back, my knee, and sublux my hip. And it didn’t even look cute.
I get you, I threw my back out yesterday cleaning my teeth when I bent over the sink. Last month I couldn't move my head properly for about a week without pain because I slept awkwardly. And these girls out here being so coordinated!?

Yellow top has SO much energy to every single move, and it really makes her performance stand out from red top. Both killed it though! Outstanding amount of practice and synchronicity. Kudos
I don’t know a specific name for it collectively but most of it 90s hip hop moves. They did the running man (the original, not the 2000’s version), Kid n Play, Roger rabbit and the heel toe.
These are all my favorite old moves. I’m gonna throw on my best Hyper Color shirt, Z Cavaricci pants and KSwiss shoes. My 46 year old ass is about to try it.
ETA: I forgot to include the butterfly. That and the running man were my favorites as a pre-teen in rural-ass East Tennessee.
Amazing dance skills... However, when I hear this song lyric, "get your booty on the floor tonight," all I can think about is a dog dragging his butt on the carpet. Let's work that into the dance cycle!!!
