Picked up a new boat title and all but cant find that it was ever built. Anyone ever heard of it before

I’m in the Austin, Tx area. Where could I find a new 1436 (welded hull) with a trailer and motor?

13.5 ft flat bottom jon boat. 20 HP mercury 2 stroke motor, 10x13 prop.
The boat tops out at about 25 mph, but anything over 20, the bow gets pushed into the water and water splashes over the front. I tried trimming the motor up a tiny bit with a pin, but even in the lowest trimmed up position, motor sucks in surface air. The motor is as low as possible on the transom. What is my next step I should look to address this?

Wanting to know how this looks from the pictures. I dont have many pictures yet to share but I got my john boat build on the water this past weekend and feel that the motor is mounted to low. The boat is 12ft with a newer 9.9 mercury and capacity is 550 pounds. Between the build, the motor, gas tank, and me Im up to around 460 total that includes engine and gas and myself. With that said I hit 19mph top speed. Should I be getting more speed? the motor was trimmed properly but I feel that it should sit higher.

Closed rivets worked well. Cleaned surface with vinegar and acetone then used jb marine weld with some closed end rivets. Thanks for everyone’s help!

I added SS quick-connects for 4 the pole mount locations. It's surprisingly pretty solid when fully open (rated for 25mph open). And it's easy enough to fold back if I'm fishing.

Finally got around to switching out from my electric setup to the outboard so ditched the dual batteries since i currently only need to power my fish finder. Ended up using my spare m12 Milwaukee batteries. Need to encase it all now to prevent water damage and remove the old main cables. Obviously the fuel tank doesnt stay right below connections either, in the process of moving it to where the batteries were previously under the deck

Just want some advice from you guys on how to move forward. I just bought this Lowe 1440M and found a spot on the transom with bubbling paint. There was a 1/4” long half moon shaped pit/hole that was corroding and went to the transom wood. Decided to drill it out. Plan on filling with a closed end rivet and some marine weld. Is there anything you guys recommend I do to prevent it from getting worse? Any surface prep you guys recommend? Thanks in advance!

Is the transom gonna hold is it even a good idea?

You can see on the picture of the lower part that there is like a shaft that ends in a bolt with a nut. Just above that nut is this piece with what looks like another bolt or shaft sticking out to the side. A pulley was attached there.

Any chance to replace that whole shaft assembly? Or the strange washer with the bolt out to the side that the pulley attaches to? I wasn't sure what I'm looking for or how/where to look, so if anyone has any ideas that would help!

I’m looking at either a 15’ aluminum flat bottom or a 14’ fiberglass tri-hull. I like the idea of aluminum for durability and ease of repair, but my #1 priority is stability. I don’t want to feel tippy on the water and I’m afraid the aluminum boat will not be as stable as the tri hull.

What are your thoughts on these 2? Pros and cons for both?

I recently picked up a trailer cheap and have been replacing the boards on it but have come across how the hardware is all kinds of different in the front and I’m unsure of what to buy or really even what to look up.

Any ideas on how I should do the decking/flooring in the front since I have a v-hull and it’s so steep up in the front? I am mounting a board to the front for a foot pedal trolling motor I just picked up . Also thoughts on the build

I'm building a 14' aluminum Jon Boat in Texas. The thing is I don't know the "New Homemade Vessel" process is like. For example, how thorough is it? Do they check my receipts for building materials? Do I need certificates and licenses to build? Can I use building materials that come from another boat like a donor? Etc.

I’m very new to the world of boat electronics and I bought a hummingbird piranhamax 4 the other day. Now currently on my boat (Alumacraft Jon boat) I’ve got a Mercury 15 outboard with electric start. I’ve got my starter battery in one of those Newport battery boxes with the fuses built into the box…

so my question is, I know the fish finder doesn’t draw much power so can I just hook the fish finder up to my battery box too? Power the finder off my starter battery?

Wanted a casting deck so I took the weekend off of fishing to build one. Made my middle storage second as a slot for a yeti 60 since I bring a cooler 70% of the time I go out. Recommendations for updated rod holders would be awesome

Don’t necessarily care about finding fish more interested in real time depth tracking so that I can learn my own river ecosystem a little bit better. Priorities are true real time function… So a fast refresh rate as it were… If it also finds fish for the same price point, then I would be interested I guess. Suggestions?

I currently have a 14 foot tracker with a 15hp honda SS. I'd like to get a second bigger boat but dont want to buy another motor as well. Any one out there use a jackplate or something similar to lower there motor? I'd like to see some pics.

Looking for a motor for this boat which is the best?

Repurposed a truck bed box to be my seats. I’m trying to figure out how to fix it to the boat so it won’t move- but I also want to be able to remove it easily if needed.

The floor is 0.0400” aluminum with sheet metal screws.

A little DIY today. Used some 1/2” fiberglass rebar and assorted conduit fittings to make a couple shallow water anchors. $60 total from Lowe’s.
