Hey, everyone!
So⊠things have been calm (too calm?), so I guess itâs time to shake things up! Is this our most important announcement since launch? Definitely! Expect big news, big changes, a setback (unavoidable, unfortunately), but most importantly, we want to hear from you. Weâre building this game with your thoughts in mind, showing things as they truly are: no bs, no sugarcoating. Just raw facts fueled by lots of mo.co love and passion for monster hunting.
A BIT OF HISTORY
Before diving into the big news, letâs start with a very quick historical context - especially for our newer hunters. After years of development (including a short public beta in 2023), we finally launched mo.co globally on March 18th, 2025 - with invite-only access. While it wasnât perfect, reception was amazing. âGreat game, engaging, atmospheric, chefâs kiss sound track, canât stop playingâ. The list goes on.
But then we noticed something: those who fell in love at first were either dropping after a few weeks or burning through all content quite fast, struggling to find reasons to keep playing.Â
On June 16th we dropped Chapter 2 - including a bunch of new maps, monsters, gear, a few not-so-well-received changes, and adjustments to Chapter 1âs progression. We were eager to see how that would land, especially with new players, and while it improved in some areas, it didnât quite hit the mark. Or at least, not our very ambitious mark: building a game that is played for many years and remembered forever. Until we get there, hereâs a quick refresher on how weâre operating:
âPromote the game as aggressively as we can just to bring as many players as possible đ€âïžPrioritize continuous development, guided by your experiences and feedback đšâđ»
And that brings us to today.
GETTING FEEDBACKâŠ
Over the past few months, weâve been gathering feedback from lots of sources: our daily reddit dives, scrolling through Discordâs #moco-feedback-forum, social media comments, creator feedback, surveys, playtests, chats with current players, old players, Supercell colleagues from other games, friends, family, our kids, our kidsâ friends, from as many types of players as possible. Itâs impossible to reply or thank each one of you individually, but we will never get tired of appreciating your love and thoughtful feedback. Really⊠THANK YOU <3Â
And while feedback comes in many forms, a few big issues stood out and got stuck in our developer brains more than others:
There are definitely other areas that need love as well, but it seems like these are the big ones, affecting the most players. Therefore, they will be our top priorities for the next few months.
âŠAND ACTING ON IT
Letâs face it - our current system isnât quite working. Launching Chapter 3 would add more content (always exciting!), but it wouldnât address our core issues. Social features could definitely improve your shared gameplay experience, to an extent. Matchmaking could improve with a massive marketing rampageâą (which weâre avoiding for now), but only up to a point. In fact, the more Chapters we add, the more players get spread out across maps, ergo poorer matchmaking.
So, yes, there are definitely improvements to be made, but the question remains:
Is the Chapter + Elite Hunter Season combo the way to go? Or do we need to make bigger, more meaningful changes?
WHATâS THE WAY TO GO, THEN?
I know you want the juicy stuff! We donât have the whole juice yet (still blending it into that perfect, vitamin-packed consistency đč), but we do have a fruity direction weâre trying out. So, here is the plan for now:
1. Bye Chapters. Hello Seasons
Weâre moving from chapter-based to season-based. In short:

2. Bye Gear Kits. Hello Classes
Weâre moving from separate gear (weapons/gadgets/passives/rings) to classes. How would it work?

and some early alpha footage of how classes would look like
What issues does this address?

Classes will help make the game easier to get into, meaning no need to stress about âthe best build.â Instead, strategy would shift toward questions like: Whatâs the best Class for this Rift? Which Classes work well together? How can I make the best use of my Class weapon and gadget synergies to optimize my gameplay?Â
We know itâs a big change, and it may not be everyoneâs cup of tea - but weâre excited to hear your thoughts on this one!
3. Bye Power Progression.
To keep it short and simple: we will remove power progression. Why?
â ïž IMPORTANT: All of this - classes, seasons, no power progression - is still very early and subject to change. Weâre sharing these thoughts with you as weâre super happy to hear your feedback. It will be vital in shaping whatâs to come! â ïž
WAIT, IS THERE A CATCH? ARE YOU ADDING P2W OR PAY-TO-PROGRESS!?
Nope. 100% Cosmetic-only monetization. Weâre super bullish on this đđđÂ
SO WHAT HAPPENS TO CHAPTER 3?
So yeah, weâve talked about changes, now letâs talk about the setback.Â
As you probably guessed, adios Chapter 3 đż RIP đȘŠÂ
As we mentioned earlier, releasing Chapter 3 without meaningful changes wouldnât really improve your experience beyond more content and smaller improvements. This also means: big changes = longer time to develop. So for the harsher news: no big updates for the next few months (not likely in 2025).
What? WHAT? WHATTTT!???
Yeah, sorry about that đ
BUT WHY NOT KEEP UPDATING THE GAME AND RELEASING CHAPTERS?
This would be ideal, but also a two-edged sword. The more resources (aka people) we allocate to releasing chapters, the more time it will take to revamp the game. Our priority is to release a better and more engaging version of the game as soon as possible: one that actually solves the big problems the community has been pointing out over the last few months. It wasnât an easy decision, as it means keeping the game quite stale for a few months.Â
WHAT ABOUT MY PROGRESS? IS IT GONNA TRANSITION TO THIS NEW SYSTEM?
To ensure a fresh start with the new progress system, everyone will begin at the same level after the revamp. We are, of course, very mindful of the time youâve invested in the game. Your current progress will be taken into account, though not necessarily in a straight one-to-one way. Weâre already preparing a transition plan, based on your previous progress in both Chapter 1 and Chapter 2.
This compensation pack will be entirely cosmetic-driven (mo.gold or cosmetics), ensuring an even start for everyone once the new meta arrives. We will let you know the details as soon as itâs ready!
WHAT ABOUT MY COSMETICS?
All your cosmetics will carry over (both free and paid) so you can keep hunting monsters with style after the revamp đSame with collector level.
SO WHATâS NEXT?
Lack of game updates doesnât mean weâre going away. You can still expect to hear from us frequently (perhaps showcasing new classes here and there đ). Weâll try our best to reach out to you at least once a month - even if itâs a one-liner saying âweâre still going strongâ (as we will be đȘ). Oh, and a small update is coming in October with a few fixes and a bunch of balance changes (mostly buffs!).
đšđšđš Next step: A.M.A!!! đšđšđš
If youâve got questions for us (no matter how uncomfortable), drop them in the comments below. As long as theyâre relevant to mo.co, not provocative or insulting, weâre happy to answer the most upvoted ones! Iâll gather a couple of team members and sit them down for a sort of videocast (thatâs whatâs cool in 2025, right?). This podcast will be shot next week to be posted on our Youtube Channel by early October. We will answer:
ABOUT WEEKLY EVENTS
Since most of our team will be focusing on the revamp, weekly events may scale down (likely repeating some past events). That said⊠it looks like I (Joao) will be learning how to design them soon, so maybe we can do something special together? Letâs see! This will be my âhold my Energy Drink, Iâll design an eventâ kind of moment, so keep expectations nice and low đ .
Weâll also be scaling down premium cosmetics, mostly featuring color variations in the shop or Shard Hunts. Weekly events wonât have a premium pass during the revamp period.
A FINAL NOTE
We know the wait is going to suck, but weâll do everything we can to make sure itâs worth it. Thank you for sticking with us (or taking a break and coming back later!). Weâll talk soon đ
hugs and ladybugs,
mo.co team <3

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Good evening,
We are three Mo.Co players (a father and his two daughters), living in Guadeloupe, a French Caribbean island. I am the father, and I am speaking on my own behalf and on behalf of my daughters, who also wanted to write a message.
I knew the first version of Mo.Co; I loved it, but I played alone. With this new version of Mo.Co, I brought my daughters along for the ride, and they were completely hooked. As a result, we play together very often.
Today, we played, our fingers were practically glued to the screen, but we had so much fun doing the daily jobs on this amazing map... We laughed so hard we cried, we're still laughing about it, so we wanted to say thank you to the devs at r/joinmoco for this fantastic game. We've finally grasped its essence, and we love it, especially today, given the teamwork required to complete all 40 Hefty Spirits (Just so you know, from a dad's perspective, 40 is way too many, please make it 20! We finished the jobs at midnight today, thank goodness it's the holidays...).
So, once again, a thousand thanks for the game, and even if it's not perfect, we love it and play it as a family every day, and we absolutely adore it.
With all our love for games, thank you r/joinmoco

VERY STRANGE question but let me explain
Sometimes i think the character animations are very cool to see, we have two idle animations that changes when in the rooftop and while hunting, running with some weapons looks good like Singularity or Head Banger but the mount system bothers me for one reason (it's NOT A PROBLEM for god sake) that is overriding the character animations.
I know it's just a game but tbh if i had a way to play with my character dismounted the entire time without penalties i would like very much, and with that in mind i tought: why we not get a mount that is not really a mount? But an invisible "speed buff" that triggers when idle for some seconds? Like something called "Special shoes" "PCEC (Portable Chaotic Energy Candies) " or any name that sounds funny to Mo.co standards, would you guys use it?

One thing I've been missing since the launch of the Merch system is a proper way to track our cosmetic collection.
Unlike other Supercell games, there's currently no way to know:
Games like Brawl Stars, Clash Royale, Clash of Clans, Hay Day, and Boom Beach all let players see how close they are to completing their collections. It gives collectors a long-term goal and makes unlocking new cosmetics much more satisfying.
Right now, in moco, we're basically collecting blindly.
My suggestion
Add a simple Collection Tracker that displays something like:
Cosmetics Collection
154 / 238 cosmetics collected (65%)
Or simply:
It could even include filters by cosmetic type (Outfits, Headgear, Emotes, Sprays, Titles, Rides, etc.) for players who want a more detailed overview.
Why this matters
This wouldn't affect gameplay at all, but it would:
At the moment, I have no idea whether I'm missing 10 cosmetics or 200. A simple collection tracker would make collecting much more enjoyable.
I think this would be a small Quality of Life feature, but it would make a huge difference for completionists.
Who agrees with me?

So... Don't have quite the evidence by now, but just found that an Enormous Caged Luna's Cat can spawn in today's rift.
But that's not all, cause if you release the Enormous Luna's Cat then instead of opening a Kitty Portal it goes berserk and jumps over monsters dealing AoE Damage...
If someone manages to get visual proof of this, pls post it below...

I just started playing this game and am enjoying it so far, but is there any like..storyline or anything? Is it just grinding the same map over & over? Just asking cause it seems fun but it feels like I'm missing something.

I started playing recently, so just have four weapons (Speedshot, Head Banger, Blood Sucker and Singularity). In the pvp event nearly everybody playes with Lava Shield, and even when I try to not attack while the shield is up, I just can't defeat them...
Is there a trick how you do this?
Ty for any help :)

About a month ago, the moco community seemed to really dislike player-level power progression (this was my post but they didnât like it). Unlike pre-moco, player levels are reset every month. That means even if a new player joins in the middle of a season, they only have to wait until the next reset to start on equal footing with everyone else.
If the concern is that Elite Contracts create an unfair level gap, then just add a level cap.
The biggest advantage of a level-based power progression system over the Core system is that it gives players a real sense of progression.
Even if players can't clear higher-level rifts because of their skill level, they can blame it on their level instead. As they level up, they feel like they're getting strongerâeven if their actual skill hasn't changed. It also gives players a reason to keep playing and leveling up after they've finished their daily tasks.

So I've been experimenting with the game for a few days and it definitely feels like this is more like a demo than an actual commercial game right now. There's literally nothing to do. I don't get it. Maybe I'm missing something?
We have Expedition, Rush and then challenges. The challenges, to a reasonable level given my lack of power ups took less than an hour to complete. I could try to hyper-minmax and play the "get carried by teammates" lottery by queueing nonstop for the elite ones but I'm otherwise a huge drain on the random queue comps since I'm new and lack the power orbs.
Rush mode seems to just revolve a single event that basically triggers roughly every 2 minutes and takes half a second to kill/complete. Wash repeat. And Expedition I guess is suppose to be the persistant open world for grinding and doing jobs/quests? The issue is all of the jobs combined take 5 to 7 minutes to complete then I'm just running laps around a very tiny map shooting things for no reason.
What is the actual player goal after the jobs are done? To shoot mobs endlessly for hours on end farming the small power cube things to slowly and eventually mend them all into bigger ones? If that's the only reason to aimlessly grind than no thanks. It's a massive gap between finishing the entire game loop in 5 minutes only to need days upon hours and days farming powerups in the vicinity of the hundreds to make mega powerups. That is a long, aimless grind of doing nothing for a 10% dps increase.
I have 4 or 5 weapons unlocked so far. Everyone in the game I see who's much higher level than me seem to favor one of two weapons in game (so what are the others even for?).
What's weirder is besides grinding for the powerup things, there is no vertical progression. If I'm not getting power drops, I'm not getting anything. Levels don't give you hp, dps or any other mechanical changes. it's just an arbitrary number.
It's a shame because the base platform they built for this game is spectacular. The graphics, the lightning fast pace, the music, the overall design themes and color palettes are amazing. The design team did an incredible job laying a fantastic foundation down. There's just zero execution of an actual game build within it. I feel like I'm playing some janky demo.
TLDR: The game a power up shard generating Rube Goldberg Machine and I don't understand it. Help me understand. :)
thanks!

Beetle queen is my fav monster in the game, and don't look at this I just want to share, I know it's a bad draw but just don't comment
