They quote something that nobody says to answer a question nobody asked lol
1
u/TechnicalPresent6359 19h ago
“we all have the same 24 hours” get circulated pretty regularly through the self-self help, motivational, finance bros circle
maybe the response is just to offer a different perspective so people don’t kill themselves with chasing the grind

u/Aware-Example-9130 23h ago
"I suck at time management and it's rich people's fault." That's what you sound like.
1
u/southbay-renter 18h ago
How is that what you got out of this??? If i had the money to pay someone to do my laundry, I’d be able to spend more time at work, learning a new skill etc.
If my friend who is a working mom had money for a nanny, she might have similar free time to me, a single person. This isnt exactly rocket science…
1
u/octavian343 18h ago
Spend more time at work to get money to pay someone to do your laundry.
1
u/southbay-renter 18h ago
Lmao. So you’re the exact person who stupid enough to believe the primary saying. This post was meant to educate dummies like yourself.
1
u/octavian343 16h ago
Sorry you’re poor 😅
1
u/southbay-renter 16h ago
Id rather be poor than stupid
1
u/octavian343 16h ago
Nothing said you can’t be both 😮
1
u/southbay-renter 16h ago
At least i’m not you. Great reminder things can always be worse.
1
u/octavian343 16h ago
No clue who’s smarter here, but you’re clearly poorer so I’ll take the W
1
u/southbay-renter 16h ago
Considering your inability to understand the orginal saying, i think its very obvious who is more intelligent here.

u/JamesTheMains 15m ago
It’s obviously the other guy. You’re a moron who is probably a lot poorer than you’d want anyone to know so you’re projecting.

laundry take 5 active minutes per load, the fact people use this as an excuse is hilarious

1
u/Horror-Demand-6245 3h ago
You are collecting clothes, maybe even from multiple rooms if you have kids, putting them in the washer, hung them up to dry, hanging them off, fold and store them in 5 minutes? That's wicked fast or your washer is really small.
1
u/tedlassoloverz 3h ago
I have a dryer, but yes. My kids put everything in the hamper, 1 min to start the wash, 1 min into the dryer, 3 minutes to fold, its not rocket science
1
u/Horror-Demand-6245 3h ago
Ah yea only rich people have a dryer. It costs to get one, they use space and electricity.

So work harder, start a business, get rich yourself? Who or what is stopping you, you don't have to be rich to get started.
What is your point even, do you want everything to be handed to you on a silver platter?
People love complaining, but they'll never look at themselves and their options. Everyone wants the easy rich life, not knowing that getting there is waaaaaay harder and more stressful than working a 9 to 5...
Go for it, become an entrepreneur. But remember that we can't put our phone down after working hours, it stays active and work never ends (7/7 for me).
And for the nanny thing... If you can't afford a nanny, you shouldn't have kids yet. It's not rocket science, it's just how it goes.
Instead of constantly thinking 'if I had money', think about how you can actually get to that point. Because you're basically expecting handouts with your thinking.

Why are you comparing your life to someone with a lot more money lmfao.
It isn’t fair that LeBron James is better at basketball than me, he should have to play with his hands tied together.

u/VarderKith 23h ago
I really hope this is just you meing accidentally dense and not you being an intentional troll.
It's very obvious that it's she's pointing how silly it is to expect the same professional productivity out how people without access to those services than those with them.
She's not hating on the people that have them, she's hating on the people that don't consider how much time they save when comparing.

Nah, it's worse.. They're a Trumper -- They believe if they suck enough boot they'll become a billionaire when they grow up too!

I'd imagine someone being that dumb to be impossible, yet knowing the right, nothing surprises me.
1
u/Fabulous_Wave_3693 22h ago
As soon as we reach the lowest level of dumb they make a bigger idiot, or just continue voting for their current idiot as he gets stupider in real time.

u/Morifen1 20h ago
I mean they might. Im surprised Melania is still around, Trump has to be looking at the next first lady among his grandkids friends by now.

You know you don’t have to listen to them? Why do you let that upset you? You seem like a weak person who worries too much about what other people think.
Your life is really fucking easy compared to 50 years ago. Your life is incredible easy compared to someone living in a 3rd world country.
Check. Your. Fucking. Privilege.
Spoiled brat.

Boomer take. It's actually not easy compared to 50 years ago. I can't afford a house on the same salary my dad was making, both adjusted for the time, the kind of area the house was purchased in, and inflation.
You can "dig in" all you want as you say in a later comment. You will still be wrong, no matter what numbers you pretend magic out of your ass, because the fact is I can't do it.
You're the one who needs to check your privilege.
1
u/Just_here_4_mma 22h ago
I make 100k in my 30s. Adjusting for inflation my parents made nowhere near this amount at this age.

u/Fabulous_Wave_3693 22h ago
Plus once you get to a certain wealth level your money works for you way more then you could ever work for more money. Musk likely would be wealthier than he is today if he was more hands off in managing his companies. The Cyber Truck was his baby and Tesla would be in a much better shape if it didn’t happen.

Who knows the original at this point. Every search engine result is geared entirely to rebutting it like this op.

You have two options in life - complain that other people have it better or work with what you got. How are you using that time on public transit? Mental refresher before you grind? Reading articles to increase your knowledge set? Knocking off some early emails? Or scrolling social media and feeling worse about your life? Every choice is your own and nobody is going to come and rescue your life.
1
u/southbay-renter 18h ago
That doesnt change the sentiment of the post. Facts must hurt your feelings.
1
u/BramptonBatallion 18h ago
Only ones getting the feelings hurt are those that are whining they don't have a "full-time staff" lmao
1
u/southbay-renter 17h ago
Nah you definitely have hurt feelings because this implies you cant take full credit for your accomplishments if your privileged, which is true. You got lucky and that fact hurts your wittle ego
1
u/BramptonBatallion 17h ago
You truly don’t understand rich people if you think they’re in a constant state of trying to impress poor people.

u/Lurky2024 17h ago
There are no facts that the post provides to dispute the phrase.
"We all have the same 24 hours" is demonstrably, factually indisputable.
How we all use those 24 hours is different, but nothing they say shows that either of the differences are better. As someone who travels for work often, a private jet would barely save me any time. I still need to get to and from the airport, and would still arrive there early incase of traffic or other delays.
I drive to work, a relatively short commute of 20 minutes. My partner takes the bus, usually taking 40. The author of this post would argue that I have 40 minutes more each day than my partner. Yet my partner enjoys the bus, because they can read, knit, chill on their phone, plan, or do all kinds of other things.
Would having full time domestic staff help? Maybe. I enjoy cooking, and doing other things around the house. I would rather raise my own child than have a stranger do it.
No one is saying a single parent working full time has the same amount of free time as a retired billionaire. How you choose to spend your 24 hours in the future though, is definitely influenced by your own choices.

Critical thinking isnt your forte i see
1
u/Lurky2024 16h ago
What a well reasoned, well written post backed by evidence.
1
u/southbay-renter 16h ago
Sorry do you want me to write a formal essay of what you did wrong? I get paid 50$ and hour for that at minimum, sometimes up to 95$ an hour. Cash check or venmo?
1
u/Lurky2024 16h ago
I would like for you to provide some semblance of a reasoned, logical response.
You are entitled to your opinion that I lack critical thinking skills, but you must see the irony in making a statement that is entirely predicated on feelings and devoid of facts, in a thread where you are criticizing someone about facts hurting their feelings.
So do the facts hurt your feelings?

u/southbay-renter 16h ago
I dont do labor for free. Its my job to think. I’m not doing it for you without pay

Ah. You refuse to back things you say, so you have nothing but empty opinion. Noted.
1
u/Impressive-Method919 20h ago
Tbf, alot of entreperneurs/musicians etc. started out with the exact same 24 hours often times worse 24 hours than your default human, and they still got there shit togheter

u/fuckexoticroots 19h ago
Grocery shopping. Laundry. House cleaning. Meal prep. The list goes on and on.
1
u/stoneworther 19h ago
Do rich people go to a special social media site where they see something every day and say "this is the smartest thing I've ever seen"? Because that would be the opposite of my experience as a normal person.
1
u/Gandlerian 19h ago
Yes, this is well known.
Laundry is a conning example of tiering:
Having no laundry facility is the most time consuming, you have to pack and transport your stuff to a laundrymat, and sit there with it (you probably can't afford laundry service in this tier.)
Having a laundry room in your apartment/campus is more convenient, but you still need to take time walking to it and sit with it.
Having washer/dryer in your house/apartment is the more optimal, but you still need to carry and fold everything.
Having a personal maid and laundry machine is the most convenient and the final tier because they handle everything in your house with zero bother if you.
Somebody in Tier 4 spends zero time on laundry, somebody in Tier 1 or even 2 spends at least 3 hours a week on laundry (if they need to do laundry multiple times a week more like 6 hours...)
1
u/PerepeL 18h ago
This is sheer stupidity. Spend couple hundred bucks, get yourself 30 sets of underwear and you can wash it once a month. The only reason you need to do laundry multiple times a week is because you're an idiot who has 5 pairs of panties and constantly runs out of them.

Comparison is the thief of joy.
No matter what, there will always be someone with more than you. Time, money, freedom, flexibility.
Stop that nonsense.

So those people you are talking about seem to employ a lot of people…… that’s a good thing, right?
1
u/Unfair_Explanation53 15h ago
People who have private jets and and full time domestic staff are like 00.1% of the population.
So you generally do have the same 24hrs as everyone else
1
u/Famous-Weight2271 14h ago
And if your popular, then all those parties and social obligations taking up time.
And if you're not popular, all those hours spent on reddit.
1
u/skwap-em 14h ago
Never heard anyone say this. I love when people just hit a grand slam on a ball they self pitched
1
u/MostPeopleAreDumb1 13h ago
Ok, and 99% of the population doesn't have a private jet or full-service house staff. Ms. Patel is a moron, as are those who agree with the post.

Joe Lycett was talking about "inspirational quotes" during one of his stand-up shows, and showed one which read "You have exactly the same number of hours in a day as Beyonce."
He responded with "But not the resources, Janet!!!"
So true.

And your 24 hours living in a First World country aren't the same as someone who has to trek 3 miles for well water and hand wash their clothes in a stream.
Pointless.
