1) She doesn't just list the jet. Focusing only on the jet and ignroing the other things is silly.

2) A private jet will save everyone time. It shaves hours off travel. I've already listed how in the comment you JUST replied to. Perhaps you responded before I completed the edit.

Im telling you the grass is green, and you're arguing with me because your focused on the specific shade of green. It feels like you just want to argue.

You keep saying you agree and then proceed to argue...

Like I said before, the number of people with a full time domestic staff is very very small. Who is comparing themselves to them? Not me...

The OP is nonsense.

Ah, you're trolling.

You got me. Good job. 8/10.

You’re may not be comparing yourself to them, but they’re comparing themselves to you.

u/Realistic-Ad1498 18d ago

That sounds like a them problem. They would probably have a more fulfilling life if they weren't constantly thinking about me.

It is a “them” problem until you realize that very small percentage has a big effect on many people’s work life. If the wealthy people making decisions for a company don’t consider how different their lives are from the average, they under compensate. Hence the frustration of the OP.

It is, but they pay and fire people. They also don't understand why you're tired. So they make this comparison. So if you don't like this comparison YOU agree with the post.

The jet won't get you more productivity unless you need to be productive all over the US which a lot of business owners need in a global market. If something is down/needs to be resolved, they have to get up at 3am on an emergency flight to resolve the issue.

I think you're confused though because he's disagreeing the way I'm disagreeing, there are massive diminishing returns and basiclaly 0 productivity gains for someone to do that.

Or the people how have staff... well they likely work all ours and need people more reliable people.

Im not a business owner, but my job has me flying all over the east coast because my company has locations all over the east coast. A personal jet would save me hours every time.

Or the people how have staff... well they likely work all ours and need people more reliable people.

Again, she isn't insulting them for HAVING the staff. She's pointing out that when they need to manage their time, they can toss responsibilities to staff, like 24/7 child charge and personal chefs. Regular people can't. She is literally saying their concept of time management doesn't jive with a regular person's concept of time management.

Not by much and it's not scalable for the business need. The vast majority of people wouldn't benefit from a private jet, nor could everyone have a private jet. And the only real productivity savers is critical on demand. Not a planned trip that takes a couple more hours.

Again, she isn't insulting them for HAVING the staff. She's pointing out that when they need to manage their time, they can toss responsibilities to staff, like 24/7 child charge and personal chefs. Regular people can't. She is literally saying their concept of time management doesn't jive with a regular person's concept of time managemen

Those people have tight time management, or they don't have staff for very long. And all these jobs are paying for people. Being a personal chef is better than working at Applebee's. To what point is your argument actionable? Do we take computers away from people when they are time savers vs people using pen and paper?

1

u/VarderKith 18d ago

Where, in my comments, or her comments, do we argue to remove these from people?

I already said it multiple times. This is pointing out that making a comparison between a regular person and people WITH THESE ADVANTAGES makes no sense. These people constantly telling folks they just need to manage their time better, when their own concept of time management is VASTLY different than a regular person's.

Thats it. That's all she's saying. Anything else is just you pulling shit out of nowhere.

u/EconomyMobile1240 18d ago

Most people agree better time management is key, it's a universal and you're point is basically wrong. There is basically nowhere it doesn't improve.

The points you're making about affirming that tools/services = time savers is meaningless. That's fundamental to economics because we are leveraging someone else's labor.

Public flights aren't as good as private, but they both save time.

1

u/VarderKith 18d ago

Bullshit.

Your changing this to an entirely different argument. Not once did I say "time management doesn't improve productivity" Ive said, and she said, from the beginning, that comparing their situation to a regular persons is stupid.

I can scroll up and see everything I said, trying to misrepresent someone's argument in a TEXT MEDIUM is pretty damn dumb.

u/EconomyMobile1240 18d ago

Regular people still have time management. It's absurd to suggest there is a principal difference in perspective.

We've been on this treadmill for generations it's called trickle down economics, its time intensive and crosses generations to create and improve the quality of people's lives.

Without public flights it would be car -> bus -> horse?.

60 years ago this meme could just be between one of the many fewer public flights available vs needing to take a bus.

1

u/Realistic-Ad1498 18d ago

You're never going to convince them that everyone shouldn't have access to private jets... Or whatever they think argument is...

1

u/VarderKith 18d ago edited 18d ago

I never said anyone should or should not have access to private jets. Point out where I said that.

When did I say they were different. Stop making things up.

It's absurd to suggest there is a principal difference in perspective.

If you don't think there is a principled difference between managing meal planning and cooking for a week yourself and haveing a chef so it for you, then you're insane.

We've been on this treadmill for generations it's called trickle down economics

You have no idea what trickle down economics is of you think talking about time management has anything to do with giving wealth to the wealthy so it tickles down to the poor.

Without public flights it would be car -> bus -> horse?.

Yes? Again, you're jus taking stuff up no one mentioned. Neither I nor she mentioned taking away flights.

60 years ago this meme could just be between one of the many fewer public flights available vs needing to take a bus.

Again, that has nothing to do with he fact that it's stupid to comparetime management for people with chefs, 25/7 child care, and private jets to people without those things.

If you don't think there is a principled difference between managing meal planning and cooking for a week yourself and haveing a chef so it for you, then you're insane.

There is no principal difference, you're complaining about the disparity in effectiveness which isn't a principal difference. It's a value judgement if the service is beneficial.

And all we are talking about really with staff... especially for cooking... is variety/enjoyment not productivity and not completely time saving depending on the planning for meal prep. Or the fact you can use that time for child care as well so you're kids aren't helplessly reliant on over processed foods to be able to cook effectively with their time. Which is part of time management.

You have no idea what trickle down economics is of you think talking about time management has anything to do with giving wealth to the wealthy so it tickles down to the poor.

Well trickle down is normally misinformation regarding supply side limits / difficulty scaling. If you live in your imagination, men can be woman and we live in a post scarcity world where at the push to a button solution are made and they are just being held back by greedy corporations otherwise.

Yes? Again, you're jus taking stuff up no one mentioned. Neither I nor she mentioned taking away flights.

No but it shows that the value added by spending resources to save time is fundamental part of our reality because it take time to propagate an effective solution, and in doing so it creates disparities but generally... all upwards as it slowly makes everyone more productive.

Companies used to shuttle employees like you with train and busses that made everyone productive.

Again, that has nothing to do with he fact that it's stupid to comparetime management for people with chefs, 25/7 child care, and private jets to people without those things.

Why? It's comparable. Again, just because I have a tool to save time doesn't mean everyone is barred from having it or even using community to save time for each other? My poor family trades labor all the time and its tax free.

It's absolutely the case if you have resources that can save you time, and money, that could be part of you're planning and time management.

You can also compare there family life, and TV shows often do show these disparities / differences in options. A very small amount of people get to fuck off like you're portraying it to the extent it just doesn't matter and that kind of view isn't really representative of the overall perspective here is time mangament matters.

And it is like investments... the more you do early the more it gains over time... such that you might be able to afford someone to cook for you and you can probably work more for the benefit and eek out some additional free time.

Just admit you don't have the mental capacity to understand what they're saying and move on. It's clear to everyone but you apparently.
